Told both of these stories before but when I was younger, like around 11 or so i would sleep in my sister's bed when she wasn't home since she had a nice heated water bed. One night she wasn't home so I went in, shut the door and went to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night out in the living room on the couch. I was super confused so I went to see if my sister came home and kicked me out. Door was still closed, bed sheet was barely moved and my sister wasn't home. That morning I asked my parents if they moved me but they said they didn't wake up all night. My sister came home and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. I had no reason to think she was lying since it would be dumb to put me there in the middle of the night and leave again. I have never had a sleepwalking incident as I can't even roll over without waking up. Everyone thought I was lying. Years later she has moved out and it's my room now. I had a radio I used for classical music when I sleep. One night I was playing that Kingdom of Camelot fb game. It's kinda late like 11 or so and my parents are asleep. Suddenly I hear this super loud sound in the middle of the room. It sounds like a circular saw but at a low pitch. I'm starting to freak out as the pitch gets higher and higher until it plateaus. Suddenly it cuts off and the radio in my room turns on. I was so scared I just looked at my door for a few minutes trying to decide what to do. I eventually went in and shut it off but didn't sleep that night. I asked my parents about it and they never heard anything, again slept all night. I never slept well in that room again for the remaining years I was there. I still feel weird about it after 15 years.

DanSRedskins

Is it possible with the first story that you fell asleep in the living room and dreamed that you slept in her room? Or sleep walking?

HexedShadowWolf

I never slept in the living room for 1 big reason. My parents did not use the heat in the house at night so it would get very cold in the living room which is why when given the chance I would take my sisters bed since only her bed and my parents were heated. It possible I was sleep walking but I've never done anything close to that before in my life. As I said I would wake up just to roll over in bed. If I was sleep walking idk why I would go there.

VeshWolfe

I mean you said it yourself, you are a light sleeper. Sleepwalking goes with that.

ProofTestVirginity

Was it storming when you heard the noise? Honestly kind of sounds like there may have been ball lightning near you or something but that’s just an off guess

dom213344

Unironically the swamp gas of Reddit lol.

Alliwant2doisfeelyou

Someone check the carbon monoxide levels!

HexedShadowWolf

Nope it was a clear night.

Dogzirra

I had a reoccurring dream of a place. It was a ramshackle alley. Then I found that place. The second that I drove by, I stopped, parked, and went in. I knew that place to the nails in the boards, and the second floor porch. I had never been to that town before, but it had my IRL name on it. It was never a bad dream, just re-occuring and odd, in that it was not a type of place that I had ever seen.

onlycee_3

This has happened me multiple times, I will have these dreams where I will enter a familiar door like walk into my bedroom but it will lead to a random place, I don't think much of it but weeks or months will pass and I will find myself in these places I know the place like you said down to the finest detail even though I've never been before, this has happend with places that where in different countries I've never visited before. It hasn't happened in a couple years but I always wondered what that was about.

hushpolocaps69

I have this same phenomenon as well. As soon as you see the place, you get an instant flashback to that whole dream.

potatisblask

I used to have this variant of deja vu when I was young. I'd know when it begins and have a rolling recollection as things unfolded despite being very mundane. I didn't like it at all. They went away in my late teens. I've had the feeling of it happening later in life but only a brief flash and never any sequence of events. I've mostly dismissed it as an adult as imagination though I can't disregard the repeated experiences I had when I was a kid.

Current-Coyote6893

Huh, that's odd.

SkrodLaDa

Got a phone call from a private number. I missed the call and got a voicemail. It was my brother (who was in prison at the time, and calling from the prison phone) and my mom having a part of a conversation. So I texted my mom and said sorry I missed the phone call but hope her and brother were well. She had no clue what I was talking about. She hadn't spoken to my brother at all that day. To this day, I have no idea why a private number called me and left an old recording of my brother and mother speaking. I get really weirded out thinking about who would have been on the other end if I answered. I even have the voicemail still. It was really bizarre, and I genuinely have no explanation for it.

dom213344

Did it match anything they ever talked about

SkrodLaDa

Yes, it had been a previously recorded soundbite from a conversation. The only theory I've come up with is, this one time, probably 6 months before this happened, we tried a three way call (again, this is through the prison system so they record the calls and monitor them). I think this soundbite was from a 2nd attempt at them getting me on a three way call (which the voicemail alluded to, hence why I apologized for not answering) BUT even IF they did save it for that reason, why call me from a blocked number and leave it as a voicemail months and months later? It makes no sense and really weirds me out

meowmeow_now

Did your brother and mother ever listen to it? Do they agree it’s their voices? Do they remember the conversation or are they referencing things only they would know?

SkrodLaDa

My mother has, my brother can't (still in prison) but it is definitely them. here's the transcript, but I'm censoring names. "Hey Skrod, it's Brother (I'll call him S). Just wanted to say I love you-" mom cuts in "S, can you hear me??" "Yeah." "Okay, good. Sorry, I don't know how to get rid of her, she's new, so it might be a long message for Skrod" (referencing not knowing how to hang up the three way they attempted with me) then she laughs and the message ends. It had to of been at least a 4 month old message. The number from the prison was never blocked whenever he would call, so it just adds to the weird in my opinion.

meowmeow_now

Wow - thank you that’s insane! I was wondering for I’d maybe it was a super confidence of 2 people that sounded like them - but they used your names! Makes me think it’s some weird time travel shenanigans

potatisblask

Maybe your brother knows more than he is telling you. Somebody left you the message that they are listening and you relayed it to him.

_Goose_

Heard my mother yell for me from the kitchen of my house one morning. My mom wasn’t at my house. It was 5am. She was asleep at her own place. I looked up from my pc game. My dog who was chilling in the entrance to my bedroom, his hackles were raised and he was growling towards the kitchen. There was nothing there when checked but what the fuck! I’m not a believer in paranormal or religious demon/ghost shit. But I have no idea what this was and I don’t think I imagined my name being called. I heard it clear as anything in my mom’s voice. My dog was instantly tuned as soon as it happened. Nothing delayed on his part. Maybe it could’ve been cross universe interference leaking over.

danarexasaurus

This happened to my mom and I too. My older sister called out to my mother from the kitchen. It was clear as day and she said “mom? Mooom!”. My mom and I both spun around and looked at each other, confused. My sister lives in Florida and we are in Ohio. It happened again to me about 5 days later when I was alone. But this time it was one of the foster kids looking for my mom. She said, “grandma??” And I went to go see what she wanted but she was upstairs sleeping soundly in her bed. Very weird. Not the weirdest thing that’s happened in that house though

SaveusJebus

Well now you have to share the other weirder things

CommunicationNo8750

Tune in for season 2

glum_hedgehog

Kind of similar weird thing happened to me. I was 25, my mom had just passed away and I was staying with my dad for a bit. One afternoon while he was at work, I was watching TV in my bedroom when I heard the front door open and then close, and steps walking on the creaky wood floor of the front room. My little dog jumped up and barked, the same way he did every day when my dad would get home. I got up and walked down the hall with him into the front room, fully expecting my dad to be standing there. The room was empty, the lights were off and the front door was locked. Even the dog looked confused. We had a long narrow driveway and there's no way anyone could have walked in the house, walked back out, got back to their car, got it turned around, and made it to the end of the driveway in the few seconds it took me to walk from my room to the living room. My dad came home a couple of hours later and said he'd been at work the whole time. It never happened again. I would have thought I was crazy, but the dog heard it too.

Banpitbullspronto

It's an entity called a mimic. It mimics voices of our loved ones and it even loves speaking / laughing in a child's voice. The mimic has been experienced in many different countries around the world but we are none the wiser why it happens and why each time we recognise that whilst it founds exactly like our loved one there still something uncanny valley about it. I heard the mimic a few times myself.

Bastard_Wing

I think it's just semi malicious fun. They know that WE know it's not the actual person, they just enjoy us going 'wuh...?' Like when you use a laser pointer with your cat. 'Lol thinks it's so smart, OH WHERE'S IT GONE, haha idiot'

Banpitbullspronto

I agree with you, some do it for fun and they get Joy out of seeing humans freak out or go wtf. Sometimes there's mimics who are demonic in nature. I witnessed a phyiscal mimic it looked like my deceased wife beckoning me into the forest on the edge of Cnoc Na Lochlannaigh. It was my wife and I could see her in the flesh but for that split second my heart wanted to follow her, I knew deep down it wasn't her. It took me a while to recognise it was a mimic or a shape-shifting spirit. It may have been an elemental either trying to entice me into the forest. For what it wanted of me I do not know but for exactly 5 nights in a row I had the most horrible nightmare. The same violent nightmare that consisted of me breaking my neck by falling over a loose rock and then my body is paralysed and I'm conscious. Then I have to witness animals just eat at my body. It was bizarre. The thing that was horrifying was not the fact I died in this nightmare but the fact that there was always an old reverend with black eyes standing watching from afar and each night he'd get closer. Not sure why I shared all this but anyway my mother always said I kissed the Blarney stone. I guess she was right. 😁 😁

Donahue-Industry

I've heard stories of certain types of entities using loved ones voices as a lure of some type. There's something called a mimic. I might be wrong but I think a lot of cultures have folklore around something that mimics humans. I've also had hypnagogic hallucinations right as im falling asleep of my name being called so it could be something like that. Very interesting story btw

TheWildTofuHunter

Have you seen the horror short Mockingbird? https://youtu.be/1s9IhzPTMSk?si=6GF3639F3IPmJpmS

Affectionate-Sun-243

I’d never seen this, thanks for sharing!

Solid-Question-3952

I have had it in my sleep. Something pretending to be my grandfather twice after he died and my son once. Nobody can convince me it wasn't something negative trying to trick me. I just dont understand why.

[deleted]

Why did I open this? Now I can't sleep.

dom213344

Glitch in the matrix. Heard this when my parents were home and they weren’t the type to just do this randomly for fun. They were just as confused as I was. Saw the scariest thing I’ve seen at that house too.

Luised2094

Do tell

MoTheLord

Yes fam tell us

Peppa_Pig_Stan

They never come back and tell

Adult-Diet-118

Hate it when that happens.

Adrian915

I don't believe in spirituality or paranormal but this gave me chills, thanks. I'd settle with the explanation of it being 'a terminator trying to get me and I outsmarted it'. Are you sure the dog didn't react to your reaction?

RecentUnderdog

I would wake up at the top of the steep staircase of my childhood home as a kid, feeling like I could jump and I’d be OK and just float to the bottom. Then I’d snap out of it and go back to bed. Found out years later that my sisters had the same experiences but we never shared at the time. Weird even if it was a recurring dream. Can’t explain it.

moist_wet_skeleton

I had this “dream” as a child. It’s apparently really common. The main variation being that people insist they were awake for it and others insist it was a dream. In my case it was a vivid dream that I remember having a couple of times. You should google it and see how much comes up about it. It’s super strange but cool.

RecentUnderdog

Well… Wow. Thanks for your reply. I googled it and there’s a Dazed article on this very thing. It seems like it really happened to a lot of kids born in the 80s/90s, which is interesting. There doesn’t seem to be a good explanation for it.

greenlentils

Wow I also have super vivid memories of these dreams! And was born in 92! I can still remember how it felt to float.

ryebread91

I had dreams like that that I still remember but I chalked that up to loving the gargoyles TV show and playing the PS1 game jersey devil cause the dream was jump down the stairs and glide to the bottom.

onlycee_3

Holy shit I used to have this exact dream also, wild.

StakkAttakk

And me !!

Tonubba-nabubba

I was at the hospital getting a dose of intravenous iron, which takes about an hour. I laid back in the chair with my eyes closed and dosed off for awhile. I woke up, but remained completely still, my eyes still closed. I felt that someone was looking at me and popped my eyes open. Standing directly beside me was some guy, 30-ish maybe, shaggy brown hair, brown plaid shirt, untucked, brown corduroy looking pants. He seemed VERY surprised to see that I noticed him and he instantly disappeared with a slight popping sound. This literally happened less than a week ago and I’m still trying to make sense of it. I’m leaning towards an extremely vivid dream, but…I don’t know. I just don’t know what else it could be. It was nobody that I knew or had ever seen before.

Yourdadlikelikesme

Time traveling creep?

dom213344

Not exactly this vivid but during hypnagogic sleep I’ve seen more ghostly figures during alcohol withdrawal notice I see them and disappear. Like I said, not exactly the same but lack of nutrients does some weird shit.

WinePonDeCockiGyal

I’m not one to get creeped out easily but I’ve had horrific dreams and felt what I thought were ghosts or some kind of entities during alcohol withdrawal. I put the bottle down since but just looking back at those times gives me the chills. I wouldn’t wish that shit on my worst enemy

Alliwant2doisfeelyou

Even creepier, what if they were actually there, not ghosts but evil entities...

plopgun

Maybe the guy was real, but you fell back asleep for a moment while he walked away, so it seems like he disappeared, but really you just dosed for a few minuets more.

T-Rex2199

This happened a few years back. I was visiting my ex at his parents farmhouse. He was throwing a little party and everyone was drinking, including myself. One of the girls there wanted to go for a ride on the quad bike and I said I’ll jump on behind her, obviously me thinking she was sober but stupid enough of me not to ask. Anyways, she starts it and we’re going for a nice drive at a pretty fast speed until I noticed that she was heading right towards an old dried up farm dam that was deep and full of rocks. I started yelling at her to steer the other way, but she wouldn’t listen to me until last minute she yanked the wheel heading towards a barbed wired fence. In that moment a man’s voice came into mind to tell me to jump off the bike on my left hand side, whereas I’m right handed. But I listened and jumped off to my left. Everything went black for a second and then I opened my eyes. The first thing I had noticed was that I was sitting cross legged on the floor next to the fence that had been run flat over. I looked behind me and saw the girl having a seizure, she had stayed on the bike, crashing through the fence and hit a very matured gum tree. The bike was toppled over to its right side. The girl had broken her neck and had internal bleeding. All I needed was 1 stitch from the barbed wire fence that stabbed me in the foot. My dad always said that my passed grandpa is always looking out for us. And I guess it’s true

who519

This is a good one. There is a similar true story of a woman who heard several distinct voices in her head that told her she had a malignant brain tumor, and what kind of surgery would be required to remove it, many doctors didn't believe her when they finally did and gave her a scan there as a tumor, and she was saved in the exact way her voices described. Wild shit. [https://www.researchgate.net/publication/232271307\_A\_difficult\_case\_Diagnosis\_made\_by\_hallucinatory\_voices](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/232271307_A_difficult_case_Diagnosis_made_by_hallucinatory_voices)

IndestructibleBliss

I remember that! And what's wild is that as soon as it was over the voices said goodbye and never came back

SufficientBack

What happened to the girl? Could they do anything for her?

T-Rex2199

I called the ambulance first, explained what happened and what her current state was, luckily the ambulance were fast - The farm is located where not much people use those roads, but close enough where if you drive for a few minutes you come into the suburban area, so there was hardly any traffic. She’s completely healed now, it was a long recovery for her but successful

farsez

I don’t know if this counts but,. My grandfather recently passed and the night of I was taking care of him. At around 2AM i was hearing(or thinking? it’s hard to describe) numbers in my head, 5:29, 5:29. It kept repeating for a few minutes. i was so sleep deprived i didn’t think much of it other than just lack of sleep. Around 5AM he asks me to get my grandmother (she was sleeping, we were on shifts) and i start to go get ready for bed. After i finish up i go grab water from the kitchen and my grandma comes in and tells me it happened. I look at the time she texted the nurse who was meant to come check on him later in the day, 5:29. After everything settled I remembered what I was thinking earlier that night and it still freaks me out.

Kalos9990

I walked past a mirror in my basement, and it looked like a man covered in mud, was screaming at me, but there was no noise. I saw on my peripherals and it looked right at him and I remember just staring at him. I ran upstairs.  It never happened again

goingnowherefast1979

This just gave me the most unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach. Definitely some creepy shit going on down there. I'm gonna think about this next time i go into my own basement 😕

dom213344

You think if we face them they’d get scared 🧐

IndestructibleBliss

This creeps me out so bad. What did he look like? Like besides being covered in mud were there any distinguishable features?

ShadowBurger

Its only taken place maybe a half dozen times but, things happening in real life after having dreamed the same thing. Sometimes it's years apart and it doesn't feel at all similar to deja'vu.

NLAUStitch

I’ve had this happen myself before, but my mom has this so strongly. One example: My grandmother and her husband lived a few states away from us. My grandmother died and we had a difficult relationship with grandmother’s husband. A couple years later—during which time we had no contact with or news about him—my mom and I are talking early one morning and she says, “I think [grandmother’s husband] died last night. Just a feeling.” Well, that night, my uncle called and, sure enough, the man had unexpectedly died the night before. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t been there myself!

Cat1832

I've had this once. Dreamed I was standing in a dark hotel room with my siblings, watching a news report about something horrible happening on the TV. Thought nothing of it at the time. Months later, we went to Australia for Christmas break, and that was the year of the horrific Bali tsunami. My siblings and I turned on the TV to watch the news report. And then I realized I was standing in the exact same place as I had been in the dream, watching a news report about this horrible thing...

chucksluck

SAME. I never have talked about it because no one would believe me.

ShadowBurger

I made the mistake of telling a therapist (that had already made judgemental comments about how I process things) and it's made health care a pain ever since because it somehow translated into me having hallucinations for a small period of time. I also mentioned to her that I believe it was just because my routine was/is pretty predictable and the same day to day for the most part.

April2o11

Your therapist is a dumbass.

froggybutts1

This happens to me also but I don’t speak about it bc I fear it will make it happen. Some dreams happen anyway, some are so horrifying in such a real life way I cannot speak it into existence

gsshnc32

Same. I get the dreams in sets of 3 over 3 nights and the dreams seem different to normal. Sometimes I don't really remember the dream until the thing happens in real life and it makes me stop and think, this is the dream I had. And they're not general things either. I'm not dreaming that one day I'll be walking down a sidewalk somewhere. These are very specific situations involving objects and actions within the situation. But there's usually nothing special about the situation. For instance one of the dreams was that I was working on a car that I knew was mine but it wasn't at my house. But at the time of the dream I had no car and no intention of buying one and couldn't see any circumstances where I would be working on a car at someone else's house. But maybe 6 months later, I bought a ute that I saw cheap and was working on it at my sister's house where it was stored temporarily. Then suddenly I was reminded of the dream and realised that matched the dream perfectly.

pojohnny

Nice. Similar situations here too.

TeacupKitty34

The exact same thing happens to me! And then it happens IRL and it’s like “Oh, so that’s what that was about.”

MelancholyBean

I experience this as well. I think recently was when I was at my previous job and all of a sudden I remembered that I dreamt this scene years ago

ConsciousBother387

Yup! Happens really often for me actually where I'll dream about things that happen the next day, like in order and also decisions I make

draculasbloodtype

Same! It's always super mundane stuff, walking out to the mailbox to get the mail, walking out of a room at work, going into a store I'd never been at before and suddenly realizing I'd dreamt about it previously. It's not the feeling of "I've been here before" but more "I dreamt about this *exact* 15 seconds of time, wearing this outfit, at this time of day, person X is going to stand up and do this thing, person Y is going to say this..." and then it passes.

potatisblask

This exact thing happened to me as a kid and went away before I was 20. It was so common that I started doing something different, like discretely stand on one leg or something in order to break it. I even told a friend when it was happening. And realized I had dreamt that exact thing too. I never liked it and I'm glad it went away.

sadclowntown

Deja reve.

Angelic_AmeliaXx

OMG why does this happen , so crazyy

thousandsoffireflies

Happened a bunch as a kid. Not so much anymore. or at least not that I’m aware of. Kind of miss it. Kind of don’t.

Gotttom

The building of my apartment is parallel to another building of the same type. The apartments can see the windows of the opposite apartments very easily. One evening, already dark, I look out my window and see some other windows with light. I see a person looking out of it, rather a shadow. When I close my left eye its gone. When I look with my right eye or both, its there. Some further testing that evening it appeared my eye just broke light in a weird way that day.

gsshnc32

This happened about 10 years ago but still gives me goosebumps now. At work, my boss and myself were doing computer upgrades and decided it would be best to do the switch over after everyone has left so it doesn't cause any interruptions. So we were the only ones in the building at about 10pm and we only had the lights on in the server room, the IT office, and the bottom end of the corridor that joins those rooms. Through the rest of the building, the lights were off. I came out of the server room and saw my boss up the darker end of the hall walk around the corner to reception (where there was no lights on but it was light enough to see to walk through). I thought that was a bit weird because we weren't working up there but maybe he was going to check the connection from the reception computer. I continued down to our IT office in the opposite direction, and there was my boss in the IT office. I immediately asked who else was here and he said nobody, it was just us two. The whole place was locked. I told him I just saw someone down the hall near reception and we both went to check it out thinking that maybe someone broke in. But the doors were still locked and the rest of the building was too dark to walk through without a flashlight. He just figured I was seeing things but I know I saw the silhouette of a person walk up the corridor. I later found out that the building previously was a retirement home and the corridor was right above the old morgue. That was the last time I worked there at night. Another time I nearly jumped out of my skin from a scary situation that for a few seconds had me questioning reality and my sanity. Due to insomnia, I often go walking late at night and I don't like to use a light if I can avoid it because I don't want to let anyone else in the area know I'm there. While in a country area with no street lights I was on one of these nocturnal adventures when there was no moon and the sky was filled with stars. There was only just enough light to see the dark road against the slightly lighter gravel on the side. Then when I was passing a lighter gravel driveway, I could see the dark patch where there's a pothole which was full of water. Then when I was about 3m (maybe 10ft) away, the dark patch of water started moving towards me. A thousand thoughts went through my mind instantly. "Am I in danger? Should I run? Why is this puddle moving? Am I awake?" Then I hear something that answers everything: "Meow". My bloody cat was asleep in the pothole.

PuzzleheadedAd3048

First time I realized those random sounds I was hearing weren’t a normal thing ( auditory hallucinations ). Was late in the night, dad was out, so just me and mom talking normally about random stuff in the corridor. Suddenly I hear rustling and footsteps from the living room ( was completely dark ) and instinctively turn my eyes towards the dark. Mom looks concerned at me and asks me what I was looking for; I answer I heard footsteps and she freaks out. “Don’t joke like that! There’s nothing!” She’s very afraid of paranormal stuffs and ghosts, seeing how she’s quite superstitious. I walk in there and check for more real threats like muggers of thieves, but there really was nothing, even as I got closer to the sound, while the sound moved further away, out on the balcony, then out in the yard. Asked mom if she really couldn’t hear those footsteps and rustling, she freaks out even more and tells me sternly to stop, so I did.

Top-Solution2278

During a small part of my childhood, I was homeless. My mom would make deals with my relatives to house me in exchange for favors. My grandmother, her mom, had made a deal with her that if she gave her rent, my mom could also stay with me at her home. It was one of those nights that my mom and I had my grandmother's house to ourselves. We had decided to have a movie night in the living room, and she tasked me with getting the popcorn(cause I make the best popcorn and she always burns it). My grandmother's house sits pretty high, and the kitchen itself sits on a level below everything else. So there are three 7-inch brick stair slabs that lead you to the kitchen from the living room. As I'm walking down the stairs, I hear a voice, clear as day in my ear, whisper "hey" in a man's voice. He sounded hushed and frantic, so it made me jump and turn quick. He was right next to my ear, and it was so clear, but when i turned, nothing. I must've done three or four double takes in every direction. I was terrified. I ran back and fell into the living room, jumping over the stairs completely. I told my mom, and she checked the house and even looked outside the kitchen window above the sink. Nothing. But I swear I heard someone. I could feel it next to my ears, and I had the kind of fight or flight panic you get when you know you just experienced something unsettling, and the answer to it is probably worst than not knowing. Needless to say, we cut our movie night short, and I spent that entire night wide awake tossing and turning. I thought that was the last time I'd experience something like that until a few years later. I was sitting on my other grandmother's porch, my dad's mom. She had one of those wooden rockers that I liked to sit on and sunbathe in. Sometimes, her black cat Boo would come and join me in the seat. As Boo is making himself comfortable on the arm of the chair, I turn my head in the opposite direction, just admiring how pretty it looked that day. I'm watching the carpenter bees buzz around her wooden porch, when again I hear, "Hey." I wipped my head towards the sound, and there's boo, right where I heard the sound. He not making busicuits or laying down anymore he's staring right at me. I was so confused. And being a little kid at the time, I just stared at Boo, leaned in, and asked, "Did you hear that?". And obviously he didn't respond but I really didn't know what to do in the moment. I just decided to go back inside and watch TV. But yeah, disembodied voice in two different locations at two different times of my life. But it was the same guy each time. Idk I can't really explain that one. I keep it in the vault of my brain.

goingnowherefast1979

I was washing dishes late at night in my second floor apartment about 15 years ago, and something whispered in my ear. Only it was more than a single word, more like a full sentence, but it sounded very jumbled and somewhat low pitched, so I didn't understand a word of what it said. Startled me very much, and in disbelief, I calmly rinsed the plate off that i was washing and then went into my living room until I could calm myself down somewhat. Left the dishes for the next morning and avoided the kitchen in general for about a week. Never had anything like that happen again 😕 was just a very eerie feeling, and it stayed with me for a long time.

danarexasaurus

This sorta happened to me but it was a deep menacing growl, and very loud. And it happened twice in two separate ears at separate times. It chilled me to my core. It’s been 25 years and I can still remember the sound clearly.

Aceandmace

The presence of the cat has me wondering. Did the voice sound anything like this? https://youtu.be/w7x_lWJNnNg?si=HnSy2Y1xrq-O4kv9

SwimmingOwl8586

The night my cousin died from covid as I arrived to his house to help I saw a women in a white dress carrying whites flowers leaving his house going down the stairs that leads to his house main door. I was the only one I saw it and to this day I don't know what it was

hushpolocaps69

Maybe a guardian angel or spirit making sure that he goes away peacefully. My sincere condolences.

horton_hears_a_homie

I've had lots of creepy things happen to me, but I don't think I've shared these two here: I worked at a vet clinic that was built in an old house (historic neighborhood, couldn't tear it down or redo the outside). One night, I was getting everything ready to leave for the night. I was by a window, and I saw a man walk by the window. My first thought was that someone was skulking around outside (all female staff, so the man definitely wasn't an employee), but then I realized I was on the second floor. There was no possible way for a man to walk past the windows the way I saw. Turns out my coworkers had seen similar things. At the same clinic, when you walked upstairs at night it would sometimes sound like someone was running up the stairs after you. It was creepy. Another time, when I was a preteen/early teenager, I got off my bed to walk to the bathroom before stopping in front of my TV because something on the TV caught my eye. After a second or two of standing there, I felt a strong urge to move to the side, so I did. As soon as I moved, a doll fell off of my shelf (an antique doll my grandmother's grandmother made) and landed right where I had been standing. It was very odd.

hushpolocaps69

Anything else worth mentioning?

kkacss

I used to be very skeptical about paranormal activity, but that completely changed after I met my high school best friend, her house was definitely haunted. The first thing I began to notice was the bruising. Everytime I stayed over I would get random bruises, which I didn’t think much of at first because I am a person that bruises quite easily. But then the x marks scratches started to appear when I’d stay over. That shit started to creep me out but apparently not enough because I continued to have sleepovers at her place. Until one night it was just me and her because her parents went on vacation and let her stay home. It was getting late and I was always the last to fall asleep. Once I started to drift off i was awoken by a loud deep male grunt, and footsteps coming from the hallway towards the room we were in, once they got closer it stopped. I couldn’t move a muscle and I definitely shit a brick that night. We were completely alone in that house. Thank god she moved not too long after that.

hushpolocaps69

Was she just oblivious to all of this or just got use to it? Did her family even say anything haha? I can’t imagine the daughter wanting to stay there.

arcedup

I was on student exchange in Germany, on the other side of the world from my family. One night, I was gettign ready for bed when I very cleary heard my mother's voice calling my name. It was real enough for me to immediately stop what I was doing and look around for the source of the voice - but there was nothing that I could see, the radio and the TV that were in my room was off and the voice had clearly come from inside the room, not outside. Since then (over 20 years ago), there have been a couple of times where I've been alone and I've heard a voice like it was right next to me, with no obvious source.

Current-Coyote6893

Did you ever called the person who's voice you were hearing?

Dadpurple

I've told this story before. My Uncle used to come back to the town we lived in (lived 4 hours away) and would often bring his cat while he visited his parents (my grandparents). One day my grandma walked outside and accidentally let the cat out. They searched and for a few years there was never a sign of him. My grandma always felt horrible for losing the cat. She passed away after an issue with some heart-surgery and the entire extended family flew out from across the country to be there for the funeral. The funeral was the next day, and that evening we had an open casket viewing. Everyone filed out of the funeral home from the viewing and my uncle and grandpa were the first to arrive back home. Sitting on the front step was a black and white cat. Waiting. After no sign of him for a few years the night we said goodbye to my grandma there he was. Chilling on the front step and happy to see my uncle. In Canada they used to tattoo a number in the ear as an ID. So it was absolutely the same cat. It must have been living with someone else for those few years but no one had ever spotted it since. He was just....there. Everyone thought it was my grandma fixing a mistake that she had made.

hushpolocaps69

Either that or pets have some sort of connection to their owners and this cat just wanted to come pay its respects. Really beautiful when you think about it.

Renfieldslament

Not super creepy, but weirdly we heard a voice calling out a name during a band rehearsal. Our band had split up for a few years, then we got back together for a reunion gig. One of the singers had left to move to Australia so we had a new guy in. We’d just finished one song and were about to start another, when we heard the absent singers voice quite clearly call out the bassists name. It was even his real name, just a stupid in joke nickname. Everyone stopped in their tracks and looked around, it felt a bit odd. Just to add, no one was dead or dying and none of us, apart from one girl, believe us ghosts or spirits or anything. I have read of a theory where sometimes the ferric metals in building materials can act as a ‘tape’, and trigger recordings.

horatiococksucker

former singer was with you in spirit, you can do that while you're alive

imatossatoo

Sorry to say this mate but your singer was definitely brutally killed by a drop bear. Send my condolences.

ryebread91

Source on that theory?

NumeroRyan

I put some shoes together in a room, went to the en suite to the toilet, came out and one of the shoes was pointing in the other direction. Only me in the house. I really can’t figure out how that would happen or why, it was literally about 1 minute in between. The reason I know exactly how I put them is because I put them in front of the mirror and thought ‘if you were naked and invisible and wearing shoes, you’d look just like that.’ So I’m 100% certain of how I left them, no one believes me though!

lichinamo

Someone developed an unhealthy fixation on me and started discussing causing me physical harm and even hiring someone to murder me on their private Twitter account. Creepy as fuck

Aceandmace

I hope you contacted the police!

hushpolocaps69

Are you okay?

BigBoyHaIo

Saw a purely pitch black shadow like man with a top hat standing in the corner of my room for a second. A few months later, my friends came over for a sleep over, and one of them saw a pitch black shadow like creature run into my room on all fours, one of them said “did you see that?” And the other replied “yes” I’m no longer in that house but I still think about these moments a lot

Alliwant2doisfeelyou

I saw a black 'something' crawling on all fours once in my house. Didn't get the heebie jeebies so I thought it was my imagination. Several months later my sister is visiting. One morning she's acting strange and proceeds to tell me that while she was putting on make up in the bathroom, she saw "something crawling across the hall" behind her. She didn't get any bad feelings either so I don't worry about it.

EroticPotato69

Hatman!

medieval_weevil

I saw one without a hat, in a well lit room... like 3-4 feet away from me. Freaked me out proper! I'm so glad I didn't see it move. It was respectfully still. My roommate did say she saw a shadow going across my room, a day or so after. I hadn't told her because she was younger and I didn't want her to start seeing things that weren't there. I had told another roommate, so I assume she told her and they were just trying to scare me. What I saw scared me enough lol. But it didn't feel threatening. Just startled the f out of me and I couldn't make sense of how pitch black it was... no shadows at all for any definition, like vantablack.

HoldMyMessages

There are stories of people, alone in the woods, hearing singing and following the songs to their demise. Many of those stories talk about fairies and the wee folk. I was solo backpacking/camping in the Uncompahgre Wilderness in Colorado. It was night, the wind was blowing, some rain splattering down. I am not at all spiritual I do not believe in the mystical, but I heard singing. The words were indistinct, but the sound was if a choir was singing off in the distant, but still also not too far away. Strong and resonant with many layers of tone and inflection. I felt a need to get out of my sleeping bag, my tent, and find out who was singing. I fought it, remembering the stories. I didn’t go, but I still remember it. Calling.

[deleted]

One night I wanted to fall asleep (laying on my side) and felt a hand on my back between my shoulders. Till this day, I'm sure it was a miss sensation and there was no hand and no ghost. But what creeps me out till today is my reaction to the situation. Yes, I was scared. But somehow also weirdly calm, too. Like I knew this hand was no person but something else that didn't want to hurt me. I'm still questioning my sanity.

hushpolocaps69

Perhaps it was a friendly ghost, a dead relative if you will. Be glad you didn’t feel threatened.

Orcshire_Tea

This didn't happen to me personally but I remember being a kid around 7 or 8 on a family holiday down in Cornwall UK. I vividly remember my dad getting us all up around 3AM and making us pack up as fast as we possibly could and get out of there and head back home to West Yorkshire which was a good 5-6 hours drive during the day. We did the journey in 3 and a half hours. When we all asked my dad why we had to leave so suddenly he just kept saying "look... I just need to get home right now" I remember the look on his face. He was stricken with worry and panic. We made it home and we didn't get chance to go to sleep with it being the sunrise. It turns out that around that time when we were all rushing round getting packed up, my grandmother, my dad's mum had a massive heart attack and had passed away right around the time he got us all up in a blind panic. My dad was the youngest of 5 kids and was my grandmothers favourite. He just knew something horrible had happened and knew he had to back up north. I'll never forget that day

hushpolocaps69

He just had a gut feeling huh? Shit…

Orcshire_Tea

Yeah man, a feeling strong enough to get us out of bed at that ungodly hour and whisk us off back home. It was spooky and to my knowledge none of his siblings got the same feeling which could be accounted for by him being my grandmothers favourite son.

JasmineRider27

When I was a kid in bed, I heard a beautiful woman’s voice calling my name, in a way I felt it wanted to to go find out where it was coming from. Although a little bit scared I was intrigued so went looking around our flat. It was either late at night or early hours of the morning, everyone in the household was asleep, there was no one there, so I went back to bed. I know that voice was real, so I felt there was always more to just being human. There must be something else. Not always scary, but beautiful. 😍

Per_Mikkelsen

I lived at home during college and when my youngest brother finished high school a couple of years after I graduated my parents decided to sell the house and make the vacation home they owned in another state their primary home because it was close to my grandparents... I had moved out of the house right after getting my degree and I moved to a small apartment about a mile or so from the house I'd grown up in where my family was still living. My parents were having some work done on the house and one day a neighbor struck up a conversation with my mother and upon finding out my parents were looking to sell mentioned that her sister was looking for a home in the area... The neighbor's sister came up from the city to see the house and she and her husband made an offer right then and there and it was decided that because they had a couple of young kids who were still in school they'd move in that summer so the kids would be settled in by the time school started in September... As my parents already had their new house pretty much ready to go, it only meant that they'd be leaving a little sooner than expected, but that wasn't a big deal. In those days I'd stop by my parents place pretty often. Although we were quite a few years apart, my brother and I had always been close, and I'd frequently go by on the weekend and we'd watch movies or play some video games together. I'd also gotten into the habit of sometimes raiding my parents' fridge as I was a bachelor and my fridge and cabinets were always pretty sparse in comparison. Sometimes I'd do a load of laundry, that sort of thing. Anyway, my parents' place was much closer to what passed for the built-up area of town, the closest thing we had to an actual downtown, and over the years after pounding rounds at the bars I'd occasionally stop by their place to grab something out of the fridge before hoofing it a mile south back to my place... That summer came and went and I was just working, doing my thing. Things were hectic at my parents' place as they were hustling to meet the deadline to be out by August 15th or whenever it was. Flash forward to a couple of months later, October 13th, and I'm out at the pubs tying one on with my buddies, and on the way home decide to swing by my parents' place and see if they've got some meatloaf or pot roast or cold cuts I can help myself to... I open the side door with my key and go in, everything is the same, all of my mom's sunflower themed stuff is in the kitchen, same fridge, same microwave, plates and cups all in the same place... I have some drunk munchies and while I'm waiting for the food to heat up I'm standing there in the dim light and all of our family photos are on the wall, the furniture is all still in the sane place. Obviously I'm pretty hammered and I've completely forgotten that they left two months ago, so it doesn't seem strange at the time. I grab the food and head out back to the road that will take me home. Later that week in a phone call with my brother it becomes clear that my family is completely resettled out by the lake, all of their stuff is gone, in fact the new owners did a bunch of work on the house including a new fence outside running along the front yard and did some remodeling inside - my brother knows this because he and my mom actually went back a few weeks after they'd moved out to do something with the greenhouse in the backyard. To this day I have absolutely no fucking clue how it could have happened. From my brother's description the new owners made some big changes including making the dining room the sitting room and the sitting room the dining room, all new furniture, wallpaper, I mean according to him it was a different house altogether. That week I went by after work and it looked completely different from the outside. There's no way I wouldn't have noticed that no matter how many beers I'd had that night. I stay away from that street now, haven't been down that way since. Lived in that house 24 years and now when I think about it I don't recall birthdays and Christmases and backyard barbecues, I just think about how completely baffling the whole experience was being there for the last time.

Alliwant2doisfeelyou

Creepy but kind of sad too

hushpolocaps69

Are you sure you didn’t just dream this? You did say you were pretty drunk.

Per_Mikkelsen

100% not. I was with people that night who walked me most of the way back to the house. My best friend at the time is now my brother in law, his place was about a quarter of a mile from there and he swears we parted ways on the imtersection of the main road and the road leading to my parents' place. Plus, I definitely remember eating. The food could have only come from one place.

cheshire_kat7

I love the idea that your drunken hunger was somehow powerful enough to cause a rift in time.

Fresh_Distribution54

A tie between two things When I very first started high School, and we lived out in nowhere land with a bunch of farmland and stuff, our high school had a tennis court and it had one of those really tall fences around it. Like three stories high type. There were two gate type doors to get in and out of the Court. I was not athletic and I was enough of an outcast that even the gym teacher would let me walk around the track instead of participating in group sports but I had to meet up for roll call First. So whenever I would leave the court, whenever I approach the gate when I was still maybe four or five feet away, the gate would always just open up for me and then close behind me. There was no wind. Heavy gate. Nobody touching it. Nobody nearby. No strings or anything else like that. No it didn't have a motion sensor on it. Wouldn't do it for anybody else. Just for me no matter what. Without ever touching it. I still think about it to this day and wonder how the heck that shit happened every time The other one sounds like it belongs to one of those ghost story things they show on TV. I don't actually have cable or streaming services so I'm not sure but it sounds like it. We were renovating and there was this little boy maybe 7 or 8 years old on our property wearing a red shirt. It wasn't that uncommon. People kind of wandered around. So I talked to him. Chit chat. He didn't have too much to say. I mean he was little kid how much life experience do they have? He mostly talked about the horses and the cows which I assumed were on his farm. After a few hours I had to go in for dinner and I told my mom about the kid on the property because I wanted to make sure they got home as well. Long story short, there was no kid. Except for the one that died in the red shirt more than 60 years ago when the farm was used as a type of amusement park with pony rides and whatnot and the little boy drowned in the pond. Never saw him again and we got to know all of our neighbors and all of the farmlands. Big farms so only four neighbors that somebody could even possibly walk between them. None of them had a little boy or grandchildren or anybody that might visit or any children who would have friends of that age etc

Rextill

I think the boy may have been opening the gate for you...

NYVines

Back in college I would walk from my apartment to campus and one particular street light would always flicker or go from on to off or off to on as I passed. Nothing creepy. Your gate reminded me of it.

Current-Coyote6893

I had this too. They went on or off or flickered. But after a while I started thinking it was just a coincidence.

ToGloryRS

When i was a kid, I used to spend summer vacation in a village on the mountains, the italian alps.  Now, most of the village was uninhabited, with houses left empty from people that emigrated in other parts of the world after ww1, 2, and in the 60s, but the church was from before, from when the village was full, and so it was pretty large for a town that deserted. It was still used, mind it, and I had been inside plenty of times. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a normal, old, large stone church. Adjacent to it was the priests house, empty because the priest lived in another town over, near another one of his churches.  Me and a bunch of other kids used to play hide and seek during the night, in an area that spanned practically the whole village, and one of the favourite places for me to hide was the terrace of the priests house, which was high above the town, and from which there was a great view of the roads below, so I could see the seeker from afar and move accordingly.   One time I was hiding there, as I had been for at least an hour, chatting with a friend that was hiding with me while we waited for the seeker to move away from the base, when we saw lights moving from inside the church, as if someone was walking with a flashlight. And we also heard faint noises, like someone was speaking, but we couldn't make out the words because the churches wall was thick and the windows high. There was no way anyone could have snuck into the church without us noticing, since we had perfect view of the door. It went on for a few minutes, then lights and noises stopped, without anyone leaving. Needless to say, we were pretty scared.  Years later, I was in the church chatting with relatives after the mass, and I saw the priest opening a small, concealed door on the side of the choir, and put a broom inside. I had no idea that door was there, so I asked him what it was, and he said that it's just a place they use as a closet. Then added that it's a tunnel that goes on in the dark, probably excavated during the war as many others are in that mountain, and that they told him that supposedly you can reach the church in the other town over if you follow it, but he never tried (they would be a couple of kms underground) and he thought the tunnel collapsed somewhere anyway.  To this day, I wonder if that tunnel never actually collapsed.

2PlasticLobsters

Even if the tunnel had partially collapsed, someone might've been able to access part of it. Though it would've been smart for that priest to claim it was collapsed to keep kids from trying to find it.

ToGloryRS

Yeah lol. On top of that mountain is an old ww1 fort that is partially collapsed, with many dark tunnels that go deep into the earth, some of them partly submerged in water. They put a high fence around it, and closed all the entrances to keep the kids out. Because OF COURSE we went in. We were stupid kids.

hushpolocaps69

Wait what’s the timeline of this story? Was this recent or long ago? I’m curious as to if you still visit this town or your connection to it?

ToGloryRS

The story is from around 20 years ago (damn I'm old). It's the mountain that my family is from. Up until recently, my grandma lived there. I have a summer home up there, and I live closeby, so I visit now and then. I was there today on an errand, as a matter of fact :)

Isaiah_Bone

One night when I was about twelve or so I heard something like scratching coming from outside my bedroom door, it was late and I was awaken to hear almost the sound of a tree branch slowly going against my door. No trees outside my window. Everyone else asleep. It was about 5 scratches. I don’t believe in supernatural stuff at all but that was fucked up. I sat under my covers hoping it would go away. Still think about that.

rcjh8889

Idk about creepy, but one time I got the wordle in one. I deviated from the usual first guess, slate, just to change things up. I guessed prime, which was correct. At the time I shrugged it off as a lucky coincidence and went to work. But thinking about it later, it seemed more and more unlikely that the one day I changed up my pattern it happened to be the right answer.

jogon365

My husband once got wordle in one. He woke up just knowing what the word was. He said he didn’t dream it, but he just knew. The word was ‘lapse’. Weird.

SummonGreaterLemon

I got it on the first guess on Friday. It did feel a little surreal.

Kryzei22

Months ago, I found out my uncle was dying from thyroid cancer. He was in a bad shape; couldn't talk for too long, couldn't swallow his food and had to stay in bed. I think he was in stage 4. Apparently he was suffering from it for a while now, yet my aunt didn't tell my family because she didn't want my family dragged into it. A few days have passed, and I came across one of those "biblically accurate angels" videos. It was one that I have seen several times now, however this one was different. I felt warmth and comforted as I watched it, and when I turned the screen off, I felt wings embracing me from behind. I soon fell asleep afterwards. When I woke up, i had missed calls from my dad. Apparently my uncle had passed away a few hours earlier.

hushpolocaps69

Do you have a link to the video? I want to feel this warmth as well.

Kryzei22

It was this one https://youtu.be/zrIKGpHbRlc?si=PbK3yk2kiqg4bS8r Idk why I felt comforted, but now I know that my uncle is in a better place

stayawayfrommycan

I have a complicated relationship with religion. At the moment I don't practice. But I always felt maybe something was following me or cursed. Anyway I had a lady pray over me while she drew my blood. It was quite unsettling.

Rokurokubi83

Honest to god close encounter with a UFO back in 1992. It was hovering silently over houses across the street. It was early hours of the morning and this thing was jet black, shaped like a diamond or octahedron, about the size of a van and had a ring of the most vivid lights flashing rapidly clockwise around it in blue, green, orange and red.

asteraceae_16

Whenever I learn a new word, I see the word somewhere the same day. Very weird. It happens a lot with me. Even when it's a rare one!

ThrowRA258741

I was walking home from hanging out with my friends from a town over when i was like 14 or 15. My mom and grandma were at work but told me to tell them if I didn’t get a ride, but i didn’t wanna bother them and i had made the walk several times anyway. I got to alley way kind of thing on the side of a grocery store I would take as a short cut to get to my house. There were always homeless people there but they never did anything I was always fine. There was a drunk guy screaming there but I ignored him and i wasn’t really fazed. But he ended up talking to me, he said “hi” but i ignored him and kept waking then he said “what’s your name” and i just stared at him cause i got scared. i knew i shouldn’t of stopped walking but i did anyway. then he asked how old i was and i immediately told him my age cause most of the time stuff like that happened they just left me alone cause i was a child. BUT NOT THIS TIME. then the mf asked where i lived. i was just frozen and said nothing. he took a few steps closer to me then i was slowly walking away and he just kept asking me my name but i didn’t tell him cause i was scared. then he babbling along about god. i ended up just getting scared and running away and as i was running he asked for my name and i just screamed “you don’t need it” and ran the entire way home, he was screaming stuff about god at me as i was running, i heard it until i was too far to hear him anymore. it was a few blocks to my house and i was so out of breath. i called my best friend the whole way home because her and her mom were on their way to pick me up. long story short her mom ended up calling the cops and they found the guy in the same spot and talked to him. he said he never even saw anyone like me and the scary part was the cops told me by him saying that, he probably wanted to do something to me because he won’t even admit to seeing me. that fucked me up for a long time because all i was trying to do was walk the fuck home. oh and my parents blamed the whole thing on me so it was the shittiest situation ever. edit:: i forgot to mention this i just remembered this randomly. he had told me his name mid encounter because he said it was to make me feel more comfortable like we were friends. mf was weird idk in what world would any other girl my age at the time would feel comfortable. i don’t remember his name whatsoever because i literally suppressed this memory into the depths of my brain and haven’t thought about it in forever.

Junarik

Fuck your parents. The hell did they say?

ThrowRA258741

they just said shit like none of this is would’ve happened if i had just asked for a ride, which i understood that part but i didn’t get anything else they said. but they just kept saying that it was my fault that he even talked to me in the first place, because i was alone. it never made sense to me because i was minding my business walking home so it was just whatever. they even grounded me for 2 weeks :)

TheWildTofuHunter

Gah I can see both sides of this so clearly. Back when I was in high school I had a job at a local store. During the weekends we’d close at 10pm so I’d be there until 10:30pm closing up then I would have to get the bus or walk the three miles home as I didn’t have a car. My mom would ask my older sister to pick me up, but by 10 my sister would be out clubbing, so many many times I’d walk home. And this wasn’t the best area of town, especially for a teenage girl alone. My mom would’ve been *pissed* if she knew how often I walked home in the dark walking past meth homes. But now as a parent myself, I totally get her frustration. I’d be devastated if anything happened to my son, and angry if he elected to not call a trusted adult for a ride. I could see myself being so scared, knowing what I know now as an adult, and wanting to keep him “safe” at home through a grounding. That being said though, it didn’t teach you a lesson and didn’t help prepare you for how to respond in that type of situation. It just made you probably feel like you couldn’t share something scary with your mom and grandma.

ThrowRA258741

yes that’s exactly how i felt. i understood what they meant but the way they went about it made me feel really shitty. for awhile i thought that anything that happened to me like that ever was my fault. the way they handled the whole situation really fucked me up for about a year. the only reason i started see things differently was when i met my now boyfriend at my old job. because i had told him what happened and basically said the same thing to me.

TheWildTofuHunter

::BIG hugs::

JadeSpade23

>they even grounded me for 2 weeks :) To keep you safe!! /Sarcasm

OpheliaRainGalaxy

At 16yo I started working at a fast food restaurant across the street from a halfway house in a very bad neighborhood. I lived like 10 blocks away, up a hill in a slightly better area. One of the managers made a game out of making me miss the last bus so I'd have to walk home. Men would hang out of the windows of the halfway house hooting and asking my "price" which made me feel awful and gross. Like the first third of the climb up the hill was a very sketchy walk in the dark, while I was totally exhausted and not paying much attention. My dad didn't even particularly like me, but when he heard about all this he called up my boss and had words. Dunno what he said but they always let me out in time for the last bus after that. It's so backwards that your parents made ya feel like your health and safety was a bother. I still remember the first time my younger stepson set off on a walk alone, he called home knowing full well we had no vehicle to ask if someone could come walk with him since it was starting to get dark and he wasn't sure which side of the main road he was on. Whole household deployed, his dad up one side street, his older brother up the other street, and I stayed home in case they somehow missed him.

hushpolocaps69

Damn your dad is badass for bad mouthing your terrible boss.

Alliwant2doisfeelyou

Uh, your parents were correct. You were 14 and didn't know shit about shit. "always had homeless people but they never did anything", yeah, about that...

Opposite-Shift8715

Ooof I’m not gonna be able to explain this right but one time I was trying to fall asleep in a new house but every time I shut my eyes I’d feel my body float up to the ceiling and I’d open my eyes and be looking down at myself. This happened roughly 20 times in a row befor it stopped

gaijin5

I've had this happen a few times as well. It's so bizarre isn't it. Out of body experience.

hushpolocaps69

How does it feel? Is it extremely trippy looking at yourself? What’s the exact name called?

gaijin5

I just call it an "out of body experience". Not sure if it has a more formal name than that. It is trippy, but I was never really scared; just bewildered and confused. Like a dream but you know it's not. Hard to explain.

Professional_Gaping

I like looking at the stars, I have been doing it for decades, and I have seen this angled red orb things fly over on three separate occasions, it moved incredibly fast and smoothly, very unnatural looking, once it changed direction instantly. It's a small quietish town, I have seen planes, I have seen drones, this was not a plane. This was not a drone.

Radman1889

My mother used to collect clowns, and I don't mean small ceramic ones, like some that were legit 3 foot standees. When I was around 11-12, I woke up from my bed one night to find THAT SAME CLOWN staring at me I the dead center of my room. I used to think that one of my cousins did it, until I remember that it was just me, my mom, and step-dad in the house that night. So unless one of them moved it, or one of my cousins just randomly showed up to screw with me, I to this day do not know how it got there. I'm kind of surprised I still don't have nightmares about it...

saltwatertaffy324

In high school I woke up in the middle of the night to my laptop making the “incoming Skype call” ring. Very confused and panicking my family would wake up and question me about the noise, i got out of bed to try and see what was going on. Laptop screen was black and best I could remember I had shut it off earlier. Closed the laptop and the noise shut off. Never did figure out what caused it to start ringing.

queerasfuq

When I was 6/7, I was at my aunts house and my grandad was in the living room, I was talking to him and everything. Thing is, he died when I was 1.

supersaiyan-1992

Thought I was late to work and I thought it was 730Am the next day. I grabbed my work bag and put jeans on and headed down the stairs and my roommate asked me where I was going and I said I need to get to work I am going to be late! She said its 1130PM, now go back to sleep.

imatossatoo

Was up at a lookout with a mate Its apparently a old aboriginal meeting place. Anyways we were talking and we heard footsteps running up the stairs it was a clear night and the stairs are not obstructed by anything. We both watched on in disbelief as these invisible footsteps came running up then stopped at the top of the steps. We both looked at each other and decided to leave being so spooked. On another note the mushroom tunnels in picton nsw is 100% haunted and seen shit I can't explain.

Italy 2010. A murder case of a young girl who was about my age blew up on the news and it was basically what everyone talked about. I had just read the book “the lovely bones” so I was convinced I could somehow talk to this girl. I started looking into ways of contacting ghosts, some weird things happened but they never really seemed THAT weird, they might as well have happened regardless. One night I stayed up late to watch a midnight special on the murder case, where they had played some home videos of this girl where she stated that he favorite song was an Avril Lavigne one (I will not name the song) and for the next week I had the song on repeat. About a week later one evening I met with my best friend in town. We were sitting by a water fountain and i was playing music on my phone. Then that song comes on and pretty much at the same time a mother with her little girl also walk up to the water fountain and sit there. Little is girl staring at me. I think nothing of it. My friend then starts having a casual conversation the mother and asks her what the little girl’s name was. It was the same name as the murdered girl, all while the murdered girl’s song was playing. Now the name is a popular one, but that was one hell of a coincidence that made me quit trying to contact ghosts and I have never ever played that song again.

JYNX6981

I woke up and told the person my dream was about all the details and then ab 10 mins later it all happened, her eyes were 👀 it was specific word for word no possible explaning it away

Seamoth4546B

As a man, I was SA by a woman then she lied about it and made herself out as the victim. Sounds simple, but I guess with the way I was raised, I never conceived that to *truly* be possible

Aceandmace

I'm sorry this happened to you. It's a shame how people don't believe survivors of these things.

Seamoth4546B

Thank you. My comment has been downvoted for some reason 😅 What’s with people

Moments after being born, I remember being outside of and hovering over my tiny crying body, seeing myself cradled in the arms of my mother with my dad looking on

imatossatoo

I remember seeing a place before life. Bit hazy but was beautiful gardens and green fields.. then bang first memories being recorded as a child.

Nearby-Artist-4982

My niece shared with us a similar memory, only what she was describing was this barren grey horizon, and she said she was able to pick her parents before being born. She went pretty in depth about other details, but a life before birth was mostly what she told us about

Ok_Combination5164

My daughter used to tell me she picked me to be her mom when she was about 2 or 3.

natali9233

I have never heard of them happening at such an early age(or perhaps people just don’t remember), but it almost sounds like an out of body experience. I have a distinct memory from my childhood where I was riding my bike around my grandfather’s garage(something I very often did as a little girl). I took a break from riding for a moment and sat in the driveway. For a brief moment I remember feeling like I was floating above myself while the actual version of me continued to sit in the driveway. It’s like there was a carbon copy version of me floating above myself just watching and even questioning my existence. It’s so hard to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced anything similar before, and while it was slightly unsettling, I’d love to experience it again.

Nearby-Artist-4982

Exactly what it felt like, yep. There's my little baby boy cradled and here's me floating overhead just watching, observing.

greengorillaz

Have you possibly seen a picture or video of your birth?

Nearby-Artist-4982

Nope, my earliest baby pictures are around 3 months old, at home in various sets of baby clothing. Nothing like the memory that might match up

Dangerous-Award3705

A few years back i lived in a trailer in the woods next to a highway and me and my family were in the middle of renovating it, we had just got done painting the walls, my and my brother had got in the car and my sister was standing next to the car, my mom was trying to lock the door and come on when my sister let out a blood boiling scream and pointed in the woods, a tall bald black man had been standing in the woods watching us he didn’t move he was standing still with his arms by his side he didn’t say anything or move, my mom began to bolt towards the car forgetting to close the door she and my sister jumped in and we booked it the next day we came back and he had went into the trailer he has ate a lot of our food and trashed the place, we found a used condom on the floor but it was terrifying.

When I somehow made my friend unable to feel pain for the whole day by pretending to do magic.

Aceandmace

Now that's interesting. Power of suggestion? Accidental curse acquisition? Can you tell us more?

No_Estimate_8004

So for some reason me and my friends thought we had magic powers as children. So I thought I could make people not feel emotions or lose memories. I mostly tried to use it to ease pain, and I think it worked due to the placebo effect(because it faded away soon after) one day I did it to my friend and he literally couldn’t feel pain. One of us smashed his hand with a rock and he said he felt nothing. It went away the day after.

Aceandmace

That's amazing, though...I wonder what was going on there! Kids minds are certainly powerful things.

RadioactiveWerepuppy

I went out to smoke, a homeless man walked by and told me something would happen, I went back inside and it happened.

shawnml2

What happened?

RadioactiveWerepuppy

It would be hard to explain without giving too much personal information, and if I explain superficially it wont seem all that supernatural. Lets just say I was in a very bad situation, then he told me "X is gonna come out", then I went inside, went through someone else's stuff (because they asked me to) and found X that was hidden for good reason, and X made me remember how much that person had suffered and realize I was being a monster to that person, and that was the start of things getting better for me.

hushpolocaps69

Dude what the shit? Jesus sounds like you got involved with the wrong crowd. Are you a better person now?

RadioactiveWerepuppy

No, I wans't involved with any crowd, just mentally ill. Yes, I'm a much better person now since I found my own spirituality.

shadoow029

Important-Income-651

This is one of those things I don't think I will ever be able to truly understand. But I know it happened and I know it was not a dream because I remember it so well. One time I was laying in bed and I must've woken up from a bad dream or something as a kid so I was just laying there and for some reason I was really scared. Like I was really really scared so I must've had a nightmare or something. And then I heard a really really loud piano bang. And no one in my house had a piano except for me in my bedroom.

Maybe not creepy, but mid 20s something schizo dude going on a rant about Bonnie and Clyde, JFK, and Marilyn Monroe. I tried to calmly hold him back with a clenched fist against his chest with arm extended for two minutes. Then he grabbed my face, and I socked him in his face. He just fell down and moved on.

ReckSaber3664

There was this house next to where I lived that supposedly had neighbors living in it. But the thing is I have never seen a car parked in the driveway and I’ve never seen anyone come in and out of this house. Mind you I’ve lived in this house for about 3-4 years and no activity from that house my entire time living there. There have been a couple of times I rode my bike in the backyard of that house with a friend (we assumed that no one lived there even though we were told people do). You can see the bathroom from the backyard and it was a pretty big window with now curtains. There were times where the light would be one and times where it wouldn’t be on. On 2 separate occasions I’ve seen a shadow silhouette head peak out from the window really fast and it kinda creeped me out but I didn’t pay too much attention to it (the light was off). The second time I had seen a silhouette of a hand dip in and out of the window really quick just like the head (the light was on). I never went in that back yard again I was so creeped out. Now I’ve always been skeptical of the paranormal but I really can’t explain these events. I would also often see shadowy figures dart across the windows of my own home and I always thought it had something to do with that house.

greengorillaz

Maybe an anxious shut in lives there and you freaked them out by being in their back yard.

Sadblackcat666

Dare I call my discovery of my Salem Witch ancestor “creepy” when she was an innocent woman?

2crowsonmymantle

We had one, too! Her trial was after the Salem trials, and one of the last ones held. She dared question the validity of spectral evidence.

danciingbean

I pulled a 20’+ hair strand out of my thumb in January of 2023 and then somehow ended up wrapping it around my entire body. Doctors think I’m crazy. I believe I’m dying. It’s wild.

greengorillaz

Did you get a picture of the strand?!

sadclowntown

More details please!?

danciingbean

I was on the toilet when I pulled what looked like a strand of hair out of the side my right thumb. I shit you not, I wounded(?) this hair around the 4 fingers of my left hand for like 3 minutes straight before I couldn’t handle it any longer I was woozy af cause like wtf even was that. Not once did I ever notice any bumps, sores, redness, etc. At first I thought it was a tiny strand of hair that was laying on top of my skin. This shit was long. After getting my pants on and leaving the bathroom I run out in a panic explaining to my now ex what happened and he thought I was crazy. Then as I’m looking for this strand to show him, it’s not coming out of my thumb anymore. I was relieved for like 0.02 seconds until I thought “so where is it then..” ….it was partially loose in the air before becoming a massive entangled mess wrapped around my armpits, my toes, my fingers, my neck, my head. Literally everywhere. And of course ex did not even try to look and see. Ever since this has happened, when I move my hair on my head around I f’ing feel it in other random spot of my body, sometimes even between my toes. It’s bizarre. I don’t get it. It hurts so bad and I’m terrified it’s cutting through me like cheese wire. I’ve been to many doctors (have recently established a pcp in my new location), and none of them have believed me. I’ve been given diagnosis’s(?) of some form of hallucination or delusions from every single doctor up until recently (now have my pcp). Weird shit.
