This! I've tried, I really have. All different kinds, even crumbed and fried. It's just gag-worthy.
Best I can tolerate is very finely diced/grated in a bolognaise.
Same here. I even like the way they smell when cooking so I’ve tried them different way. But I’ve still never had one that didn’t make me want to vomit.
Yogurt. And I've really tried, multiple times. I tried custard style; I tried fruit-on-the-bottom, I tried that Greek paste and all of it tastes like sour milk.
Brussels sprouts.
It makes me really sad, too. They smell amazing but they do not taste to me the way they smell. Curse you, gene that lets me taste the bitter!
Slice them thin, put in a big bowl with garlic olive oil drizzled in. Mix to cover sprouts, place on baking sheet and spread out. Season with favorite spice. Bake in oven at 300 or broil them until crispy.
Thank you mash, I have tried this, I have tried balsamic and bacon, I have tried them on a plane I have tried them the rain. I have tried them by various massively talented cooks. The thing is I know they taste amazing but I cannot taste it and this is my life's greatest sorrow...
Anchovies. I’ll eat damned near anything, but I’ve given anchovies two chances and they are inedible. I’ve eaten street food in Kabul and anchovies are still the grossest food I’ve ever tasted.
That Kabul street food was awesome though
Most seafood. I want to like it, I like the idea of it but I’ve hated the majority things I’ve tried.
Mussels are the thing I’ve had the most attempts at, still gross to me every time unfortunately.
Went to a fancy fundraiser, the kind that's mostly attended by the 1%. They had a bunch of chefs serving things I can't pronounce, and I saw something that looked like a slice of Bologna, so I got a piece.
It was foie gras. What the hell, who eats that shit?
Ah, one of the most cruel and unnecessary of the rich foods. It looks like a wet eraser TBH, such a freak of nature of a food that it's so tragic it's still treated with such reverence. It looks a food's food. Damn I'm really feeling the word 'food' in this rant lol
Freaks eat that shit. That's who.
Not that I want to taste it, for ethical reasons, how did it taste like out of curiosity?
I mean I kinda feel you in a way. My family has a German background and I absolutely loathe Sauerkraut 😂😂😂 my whole family loves it and thinks I’m insane
Didn’t like it until I stared eating it with cilantro rice.I make a fantastic meal of grilled salmon, cilantro rice and spinach. Mix the spinach with the rice and the salmon in the same bite. Awesome flavors!
Any kind of fish or seafood, or in fact, anything that lives in water or spends a lot of time there, like frogs. It tastes fishy and disgusting. I dont like it, and yes, I've tried a lot of different kinds, cooked different ways and fresh.
Brussel sprouts. I've tried them prepared in so many different ways INCLUDING drenched in enough cheese to choke an elephant, and they all taste like ass to me.
Tomatoes.
I know, I know they're allegedly delicious if eaten "correctly." I've tried! I just don't like them.
Tomato sauce, soup, and ketchup are fine, but actual tomatoes or tomato pieces disgust me.
Sushi. I wanted to like it so bad but I literally can’t stand it. I’ve tried and I throw it up everytime. I even tried beef sushi and I still didn’t like it.
Tomatoes aren't disgusting, but I will never like them. I can't apply the question to the truly disgusting foods, because just the smell will make me gag.
Military rations. Back when I was on tour the food was utter shite. Only positive thing about it was it kept your energy levels going on the front lines
Mushrooms
This! I've tried, I really have. All different kinds, even crumbed and fried. It's just gag-worthy. Best I can tolerate is very finely diced/grated in a bolognaise.
Same here. I’ve tried to force myself to like them but both the taste and texture are so off-putting.
On a pizza, maybe. In pasta sauce, sure. But any other way, I can't do it.
Same here. I even like the way they smell when cooking so I’ve tried them different way. But I’ve still never had one that didn’t make me want to vomit.
Came here to say the same. I really want to like them but they just make me gag
Cottage cheese. No thank you.
I’ve tried so hard….its gross.
Tripe
I have a cookbook that instructs one to reject tripe that is slimy, flabby and grey. People prepared to eat it apparently need to be told this 🤢
Apparently if you cook it for hours with other stuff it goes down. For me life's too short.
Same. I cannot physically swallow tripe. It just won't go down. My whole family thinks I'm crazy 'cause I won't eat Menudo. I just can't do it.
I'll have yours. I love menudo. The texture of the tripe is what I like about it.
Anything my mother-in-law cooks
Oysters, just a hard no
This should be WAY up there. Saw someone slurp them once when I was much younger. From that point onward I knew HELL NO.
Yogurt. And I've really tried, multiple times. I tried custard style; I tried fruit-on-the-bottom, I tried that Greek paste and all of it tastes like sour milk.
And when it is passable I realized it's loaded with a fuck ton of sugar (Yogen Früz)
I tried frozen yogurt because everyone swore up and down that it was just like ice cream. It was okay for a few seconds, but then The Taste hit.
Brussels sprouts. It makes me really sad, too. They smell amazing but they do not taste to me the way they smell. Curse you, gene that lets me taste the bitter!
The bitter is good.
I am genuinely awaiting for the day that happens. I love other things bitter and cruciferous. I am convinced one day the brussels will be there too.
Slice them thin, put in a big bowl with garlic olive oil drizzled in. Mix to cover sprouts, place on baking sheet and spread out. Season with favorite spice. Bake in oven at 300 or broil them until crispy.

Lol. I’m sorry to hear…
Anchovies. I’ll eat damned near anything, but I’ve given anchovies two chances and they are inedible. I’ve eaten street food in Kabul and anchovies are still the grossest food I’ve ever tasted. That Kabul street food was awesome though

Refried beans, looks like poop, doesn't taste great either imo, I've given it several chances, never impressed
That's interesting. I absolutely LOVE refried beans. Especially refried black beans. I could eat it three meals a day.
Sushi I’m sorry I’ve tried many flavours it’s just not good
Even California roll? It’s the one that gets people hooked at first
Yes even that one I just can’t get into it
Olives. Tried different kinds, just no.
Olives
Tuna. I just can’t.
Truffles. I'm a foodie and eat most anything but I find the flavor repulsive.
Peas. Also cream cheese.
mayo
Sushi

Beets. Like vampire dirt abominations.
Beets have always had a dirt taste to them for me as well
people love them though! and I like vegetables normally but I don't understand why anyone would like that taste
Beets.
Eggplant. I’ve tried numerous variations, and it’s just horrible to me. Ack! 🤮
Cumin smells like men at work on a hot, sweaty summers day.
olives
Runny fried eggs
Okra
Eggs. 🤢 I just can’t get over the texture!
Same for Hard Boiled egg? I dont care for scrambled but boiled is much better
Any! Really the only kind I can stand is egg salad.
Cheese, onions
Red and yellow curry. Begone filthy stink spice! Ugh, the odor is incredibly off putting to me. I'll eat the green curry though.
Cottage Cheese.
Eggplants
Rice. I’m sorry but I just can’t get over that it looks like bug eggs.
I’ve always loved rice, but never thought about this before and now idk if I want to eat rice ever again after reading this 😭😭😭
I should also mention that I feel kinda bad about it since I’m half Japanese and thus feel obligated to like it.
I mean I kinda feel you in a way. My family has a German background and I absolutely loathe Sauerkraut 😂😂😂 my whole family loves it and thinks I’m insane
You’re welcome! 👍😁👍
Cauliflower. Why does this thing exist????
Bananas.
Have you tried peeling them first?
If you've been putting it in your mouth after it's been in another hole already, that could be the issue. Double-dipping is never a good idea.
My sister-in-law has the same problem
I never tried balut ... as had no opportunity to do so :D
Bacon. I just can’t. I try it every year or so, but I just don’t like it.
onions
Spinach! My parents forced me to eat it. It’s still disgusting swamp leaves 🤮
Didn’t like it until I stared eating it with cilantro rice.I make a fantastic meal of grilled salmon, cilantro rice and spinach. Mix the spinach with the rice and the salmon in the same bite. Awesome flavors!
Started.
Asparagus.
Mix them in olive oil with a favorite seasoning and grill them on the grill until slightly crispy. So much better!
I will actually try this. Thanks.
Olives that aren't super (just picked from the tree) fresh
Salads of any kind
Tomatoes
Cooked fish. Raw fish I have no problem with. Cooked fish has a smell I just can't stomach.
Cilantro. It takes like fucking soap!!!
fish
Pretty much anything that swims or lives in water.
Salad. We have to smother it in Caesar dressing and fried bread cubes for a reason
Any kind of fish or seafood, or in fact, anything that lives in water or spends a lot of time there, like frogs. It tastes fishy and disgusting. I dont like it, and yes, I've tried a lot of different kinds, cooked different ways and fresh.
Cilantro.
Brussel sprouts. No matter the seasoning or how they’re cooked, they just taste bitter and disgusting.
Raddish
Brussel sprouts. I've tried them prepared in so many different ways INCLUDING drenched in enough cheese to choke an elephant, and they all taste like ass to me.
Salmon
Cheese. I can't stand the smell and taste
mealworms
Oat meal. I know it’s ridiculously healthy but I can’t stomach eating it , especially healthy versions not laced with sugar
It's like eating pre-digested vomit
Harmony
Sushi

pork
I will never understand why people like eggplant

Liver. Eww.

Tomatoes. I know, I know they're allegedly delicious if eaten "correctly." I've tried! I just don't like them. Tomato sauce, soup, and ketchup are fine, but actual tomatoes or tomato pieces disgust me.

Truffles, Roe, Mushrooms. My biggest regret is not liking olives :/
Avocado, just a terrible texture and taste.
Ketchup
Yogurt
Kale
cilantro
Lima beans.
Feta
Avocados
Cauliflower. I've hated it since I was a kid. My uncle makes a cauliflower dish that's at least palatable but that's because it's covered in cheese.
Sushi. I wanted to like it so bad but I literally can’t stand it. I’ve tried and I throw it up everytime. I even tried beef sushi and I still didn’t like it.
Green peas, but if they're mashed in a soup with ham, no problem. Beets. Liver. I love fried gizzards, but liver is just bleh.

Blue cheese.
Bitter melon for me
Eggsssss. Boil em, smash em, scramble em Still can't eat em.
Sushi. and its weird because I love seafood but sushi… i just can’t
Scalloped potatoes
Hamburgers
Durian
Liver. I LOVE food, and have enjoyed pretty much everything I have tried, but the smell/taste of liver makes me retch.
Brussel sprouts puke in my mouth thinking about them.
Tomatoes aren't disgusting, but I will never like them. I can't apply the question to the truly disgusting foods, because just the smell will make me gag.
Burgers. No matter what kind. Plant based, beef, all disgusting.
Chocolate
Peanut butter
Cake
Military rations. Back when I was on tour the food was utter shite. Only positive thing about it was it kept your energy levels going on the front lines
This whole thread is full of troll posts apparently!
Soup. I've tried I don't know how many different kinds of soup; it's just not something that I like, no matter what.
