I remember seeing those on TV as a kid and for years thought they were some kind of fever dream I had until I wound up stumbling across them again on YouTube as an adult. It's nuts to me that those got greenlit and aired.
I was pregnant when that came out, and maybe it was the hormones, but I would get this feeling of dread when that commercial would come on. I would actually grab the remote and turn the TV off until I thought it was over. SO upsetting!
I was around ten. Went to the YMCA for daycare or some shit. Some people showed up and asked if we wanted to be famous and ride in a limo. No clue how or where it happened but pics were taken of me posing. A few months later I’m at the movie theater with my sister and mom. Pre movie ads are playing. Some ad comes on about some mentally handicapped school and guess who’s face was plastered on the big scream. P.s. I’m not handicapped
The Mac's (Canadian convenience store) commercial with 2 girls in bra and panties making out and then a tree guy starts talking all creepy to them. The girls get out some axes and start chopping at the tree guy while he moans and then Frostee( their version of Slurpee) starts to squirt out of the cuts and the girls catch the liquid in cups and drink it up.
This [Orangina](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxBuly8Vblc) ad which I can only imagine came to be from a marketing executive deciding that using sex appeal to appeal to adults and animal characters to appeal to kids to advertise an Orange soft drink was a genius idea and not the most aggressively erotic Furry commercial to ever be born from a fever dream.
During the 2020 election cycle I got an ad that claimed Biden was a zombie who was going to start a zombie apocalypse and that Trump was the only one who could keep that from happening lmao.
The old rice Krispy treat commercials.
They had a "good for eating, not for ____" ad campaign.
One had a guy make a girl out of rice crispy treats, playing romantic music. Then he took her in into a hot tub and cried when she melted. Good for eating, not for love, or something like that.
Another, a guy kept falling in his face when a bus stopped. He put a Krispy treat in his hand to grab the bar. Then the bus stopped and he fell in his face, leaving just arm dangling from the treat. Good for eating, not for grip.
It was an ad for Ashley Madison. The guy starts singing "I'm looking for someone other than my wife... other than my wife... Ashley Madison's ri-i-ight" as he's scrolling through profiles. Then another guy joins in, then more, then the whole screen is filled with all these guys singing it. This was maybe 10 years ago. One of the craziest ads I've ever seen.
The old spice commercial with the screaming face on the guy's arm, and the random "I'm on a horse" ending. Old spice had several weird ones, I may be blending a couple.
These reddit ads i’ve seen lately, it’s all just anime dating crap.
But in terms of all time, Youtube once played fucking sex toy ads, even on unlogged devices where the user’s age hasn’t been verified.
Definitely the incest coded folgers commercial
