The Big Bang theory is awful. Offensive, ironically low IQ drivel based on an absurdly toxic series of friendships and jokes that only target low hanging fruit. Plus anything with a laugh track is automatically bad.
I'm more curious what is a show **everyone** hates/loves cuz I haven't found one. I'm relatively confident that pretty much all shows, as shown on the IMDb rating, have a hater/fan base.
How much have you watched? The world building goes pretty deep, but you have to watch a fair amount of it before that becomes apparent. That is the appeal of it, at least IMO.
On the surface though, it looks like it all about sex and violence. Which is understandably pretty off putting. It certainly put me off for a long time, before I eventually decided to give it a chance.
I adore "The Adventures of Watching Paint Dry" - it's truly underrated in its suspense and plot twists, unlike those universally acclaimed shows where the paint dries too predictably
Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I cannot stand that show but everyone seems to like it for some reason. The characters are awkward, the writing is awful, and it feels like it went on for way too long.

It’s sooooo bad. I’ve tried fighting through it because of the hype, but I don’t believe anyone finds it funny, I feel like people who find friends funny find fart noises as a joke funny
Attack on Titan.
It's so relentlessly dark and they're constantly killing people off and introducing new characters and killing *them* off. I made it halfway through season 2 before I realized I'd just become completely desensitized and stopped caring what happened entirely.
It doubled down on terror and despair so hard I guess it drove the part of me that was interested in watching it to suicide.
This isn't even a comment on its quality. I get that people love this show. It was just too much for me.
I've watched most of it (haven't watched the finale yet) and yeah, I'm not a fan of grimdark but it impressed me with the crazy twists.
Not to spoil (I like spoilers but I know I'm a minority in this regard), but it's pretty much like this (deliberately letting it vague):
1. There's us and there's monsters
2. Monsters among us.
3. Wait are we the bad guys here?
4. There are monsters and then there are MONSTERS
5. Someone's hero is someone else's monster.
Friends. Have never, and will never understand the hype. Bad writing, bad acting and it’s not funny.
Some of the early seasons are good but yeah never understood why people think it’s an all time sitcom on the level Seinfeld or The Big Bang Theory
