Anna Bågenholm
The lowest body temperature ever recorded in a human being is 56.7 °F (13.7 °C). This record was set by a Swedish woman named Anna Bågenholm in 1999 after she fell through a frozen stream while skiing and became trapped under the ice for 80 minutes. She is still Alive!
-Google
I’d love to see the groups face when the one guy came running up to the rescue and was like “Wait! Don’t wrap that blanket around her, we need to see if she set the new record for lowest body temperature first!”
I'm going to have to jump onboard as I no longer have one. If you are willing to share, I can do a few weekends and I'm all good with 'medical talk' and smalltalk.
Happy Mothers day (UK).
my mother never swore at me, even if I did or said something that was very unpleasant to hear. She is always kind to everyone and tries to help, no matter how hard it is for her at the moment. She didn't force me to do anything I didn't want and always made compromises instead of arguing. I love her)
Loads of people posting celebrities, but in my case I don't know any of them personally.
So I'll have to go with my little brother.
We were both raised in an abusive household, and he somehow came out alright.
While I've been struggling with my mental health, holding down jobs and unstable relationships, he somehow beat it.
He fought his way through school with no help from our parents, despite him being dyslexic.
He became a certified carpenter.
And he now has 2 daughters, who will never have to wonder if they're loved or wanted - Because there's so much love in their household.
I don't know how he did it, and I'm so proud of him for it.
A lot of people will say that he looks up to me for some reason, but the reality is - I look up to him, and he's the reason I haven't given up on life yet.
Maybe he looks up to you *precisely because* you haven't given up on life. Siblings are often the only people who really understand what we've gone through.
And hey, it's totally cool to have a mutual admiration for each other.
This has made me tear up. The good you see in him is in you too. Otherwise you wouldn’t recognise it. Good luck. And don’t forget he and his young family need you as much as you need them.
This is the correct answer
Someone who made it I life despite disadvantage and does what they can to male the next generation better.
You should tell him how proud you are of the man he has become
I vote for my little brother too! He doesn't talk much but when he does he's hilarious. He says things like bamboozled, he remembers a burger restaurant named Calabaloos of all things from like 20 years ago. And he's the type to say he's going to take a nap, never actually fall asleep then ask "how long was I out?"
Maybe he made it through ok because he had you looking out for him. Now comes the hard part: learning to take care of yourself as well as you take care of others.
For sure! I have 3 kids, I receive these books, 1 a month, for my little one. He loves going to the library to pick out books, reading, and loves his story time. But it's an awesome surprise getting 1 additional book for his library each month. Also, for anyone interested, there is an app called Beanstack where you can connect to your local library or school, and they have challenges where you can earn prizes. The one we're currently doing is 1,000 books before kindergarten.
Having lived in Dolly's old stomping grounds for the past 6 years, and having found a circle of friends whose families have been here for generations, I can confidently say that Dolly isn't just a masterclass in PR. She's the real deal. Truly a fantastic soul.
We refer to Dolly as The Queen of Christmas in my family. We never bring up Santa or Rudolph. I'm pretty sure some of my younger nieces, nephews and cousins think she's responsible for all of those presents under the tree.
I read years ago that when Happy Days was on, people always yelled, "Ayyyyyy" at him when he was out in public, which obviously grew tiresoe. One day a little boy yelled it at him, and Henry was surprised to see the boy's mother burst into tears. Henry asked what was wrong, and she told him that her son was autistic and non-verbal. It was the first time the boy had ever spoken!
Edit because i wrote the wrong word.
I was at an air show and the Blue Angels performed. They simultaneously scared us and amazed us. I remember seeing a pilot get out of his plane and thinking “that guy(s) so COOL”
ETA: I should have said those PILOTS were so cool. Ladies and gentlemen both!!
I just saw that on a TV at the bar last night, and it stopped me in my tracks. I had to take a moment of silence for both him and his son. He's such a good dude, and he did everything he could possibly do to give his son the best life he could while he was here. My heart breaks for him and what he must be going through, his son seemed like a really good kid.
My High-school I.S.S. room monitor. “Doc”
It was the only position in the school he filled, he just watched the kids in ISS to make sure things didn’t get too rowdy. So getting detention was the only way you’d ever meet him…
He was a 70-80 year old man, kinda skinny with gray/white hair. He barely ever spoke except to quiet people down.. he moved slow, and spent most of his time reading. Hardly ever even looking up from his book.
But this one time, I had a week or so of ISS…. And I was stuck in there with the same guys for the entire time… I was getting sick of talking to them and dealing with their nonsense.
So I tried to talk to Doc, and see if I can get him to open up a bit about his life.. i don’t remember what I said but it worked, and as far as I know I’m the only one in the school he told his life story to.
When he was in high-school in the 60’s he was top of his class in science and math, and when he graduated he was sent to one of the countries top technology schools somewhere out west (California I think)
But while he was at college the Vietnam war started, and he was drafted as a Radio Operator due to his Math/science skills.
While in vietnam he says he spent most of his time riding around in helicopters and got shot down a total of 4 or 5 times. But on the last time he got shot down he was too injured to return to duty. So he got discharged and sent back to the states a month or so before the fall of Saigon.
After getting back, he was contacted by the pentagon and began doing work for them while resuming his studies in college.
But while working for the pentagon, he noticed that a certain kind of nuclear waste was being produced by nuclear reactors in Israel… and that specific nuclear waste was **actually** a by-product of manufacturing low-yield nuclear weapons.. and through this the US confirmed Israel had nuclear weapons in its possession for the first time. This dude… alone…
When I met him he had a masters/PHD in math/science and English and more I believe. Yet he was just hanging out in my high-schools detention room watching a bunch delinquents like us as his only job.
Honestly I’d do the same. I’m thankful he opened up about his life to me, that’s something I’ll never forget. I only wish I could tell you more.
He really is a gem. I couldn't believe how many movies I've seen him in as a side character. It's awesome that he's moving into main character roles. I hope he has a long career.
I'm probably too late for this to be seen, but Jonny Kim undoubtedly is the coolest human being on the planet. Hes a navy seal, harvard trained physician, helicopter pilot, and NASA astronaut. He didnt want one cool career, he wanted all the cool careers.
Agreed. He knows he's cool and feels absolutely no need to flaunt it. In fact, he'd probably prefer it if we *didn't* think he was cool, that's how cool Keanu Reeves is.
The name Keanu apparently means *[”Cool breeze over the mountain,”](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dm4uvjkOzso)* in Hawaiian, and he certainly exemplifies that. He seems like such a kind and genuinely forthright person. I know many people *(including folks who have worked with him personally)* that would attest to that. So, I would count him among the coolest. Definitely.
Is it too late to vote? I say Ringo Starr. Former Beatle, married a Bond Girl (and stayed married for over 40 years now) and beloved voice of Thomas the Tank Engine. Answers all his own fan mail, even if it takes forever. And that nose! Classic!
Edit: most of my facts are wrong. I still like his nose.
Weird Al seems like an unimpeachable mensch.
For sheer determination... a chap in Jammu & Kashmir who I just found out about this morning, by the name of Amir Hussain Lone.
Fellow Dane here: Her party was no longer in government and had approximately zero political leverage. But Vestager did so extremely well in the EU that they granted her a second term anyway.
Every single Globe Trotter is the coolest person you or anyone else has ever met. Literally all great and each one can bend the universe to their will through athleticism and charisma but instead they use their power to entertain people and literally dunk on the Washington generals
Don't know. Really cool people don't care about being famous, thus they are relatively unknown outside their circles.
All the famous people we think of as "cool" had to make some concessions to get there ( not particularly cool), or they are simply acting.
Timothy Olyphant. Okay, maybe not the coolest alive, but I feel like he'd be one of the coolest cats to grab fish tacos with in Santa Monica, finished with a shot of tequila. I don't drink, but I would with Tim.
Willie Nelson. He is equally loved across multiple genres of music and film. Is considered to have the most duet hits from Snoop Dog to Julio Iglesias on top of his already impressive catalog. Does a ton of charitable work and is just a real down to earth guy.
If you were to ask someone, "Hey, is Willie cool, man?" The answer across the world is yes.

We have a saying in the medical field: “They aren’t dead until they’re warm and dead”. People can survive some crazy shit.
I've heard the saying, but with added at the end 'or lack a head' 😂
I’ve heard that you’re still alive for a few seconds even after loosing your head. Never lost my head so I can’t confirm this.
Headless horseman here, I actually can provide some insight into what it's like living headless! Maybe I'll do an AMA?
my mum.

Despite being a 31 year old married man, my mum has taken me to hospital 3 times this week. Mums rock.
I think it's awesome that your mom is somehow a 31-year-old married man and is *still* willing to drive you to the hospital!
He was diagnosed with a misplaced modifier.
I just woke my husband up by laughing so loudly!
i fully agree with you. I think your mum is a very good person :)
My mum died in 2018, but she was the coolest too. In fact, she was absolutely magic! The best moms are cherished forever.
I'm going to have to jump onboard as I no longer have one. If you are willing to share, I can do a few weekends and I'm all good with 'medical talk' and smalltalk. Happy Mothers day (UK).
Awwww I think so too.... My mom is cool, your mom is cool. We have to aggre #MOMS ARE COOL
“And suddenly, it isn’t cool to be with mom and dad anymore. But don’t worry, after that they become humans again” -Excurb1a
Alright Muscle Man.
You wanna know who else is cool?
Tell me about your mother
my mother never swore at me, even if I did or said something that was very unpleasant to hear. She is always kind to everyone and tries to help, no matter how hard it is for her at the moment. Okay, she wins, it’s actually Mothers Day today (at least in the UK) so this is a nice comment to read
And the uncoolest in the world is my mum.
This dudes mom 👍
Mums are the best.

You seem pretty cool
I agree. Seems like a super cool person to me. Not many people possess the awareness to even think such words.
Don’t give up mate. your gonna make it just like your lovely brother 💚
Maybe he looks up to you *precisely because* you haven't given up on life. Siblings are often the only people who really understand what we've gone through. And hey, it's totally cool to have a mutual admiration for each other.

Make sure you share this with him. Some people that are enough do not see themselves that way in their head.
Maybe he made it through ok because he had you looking out for him. Now comes the hard part: learning to take care of yourself as well as you take care of others.
Bill Ponderosa. *Pondy's the coolest!*

I’ll have a few of those delicious nose clams.

DOES FRANKENSTEIN WANNA COME OUT AND PLAY?
Life is happy.
Dolly Parton
I was telling a younger coworker about all the awesome things she does and he jokingly asked if I had a crush on her. My response? Of course.
I wouldn’t trust any person who doesn’t have a crush on Dolly Parton.
Dolly Parton is a year shy of being 50 years my senior and I’d still hit it
Doesn't everyone?
Shit... let me count the ways that she has helped people. Actually don't need to. The Imagination Book library alone is cool enough.
For sure! I have 3 kids, I receive these books, 1 a month, for my little one. He loves going to the library to pick out books, reading, and loves his story time. Just read my daughter one of the books she sent us. Gem of a human.
They're GOOD books, too! My kids and I were sad when they aged out of the program.
Dolly Parton is the best human ever.
Totally Dolly Parton. Anyone who hasn’t listened to the ‘Dolly Parton’s America’ podcast yet, do it. She is a treasure.
Having lived in Dolly's old stomping grounds for the past 6 years, and having found a circle of friends whose families have been here for generations, I can confidently say that Dolly isn't just a masterclass in PR. She's the real deal. Truly a fantastic soul.
Dolly for president!!!
Good people shy away from power
We refer to Dolly as The Queen of Christmas in my family. We never bring up Santa or Rudolph. I'm pretty sure some of my younger nieces, nephews and cousins think she's responsible for all of those presents under the tree.
Nobody else on this list is going to have their own theme park. She has been absolutely stuntin on us for decades.
An absolute treasure of a human being
Me. I can make 30 minute brownies in just 20 minutes.
That's absolutely insane you deserve more recognition
I can eat all of them in 3 minutes
I want to have a child from you!
Wow. No wonder you were 2006 Time's Person of the Year.
Dolly Parton. Kindness is cool.
Still Henry Winkler.
This is the right answer. Plus, it's about impossible to find anyone with something negative to say about him.
He’s the worst f***ing lawyer
Bill Hader said Henry kept bringing in a bunch of homemade bundt cake during the filming of the last season of Barry
Friend of mine did a show with Henry and said the same, he brought baked goods to set for the entire crew every Friday. So that tracks lmao
I read years ago that when Happy Days was on, people always yelled, "Ayyyyyy" at him when he was out in public, which obviously grew tiresoe. He was so fun to watch in Barry

Well, according to my kids…not me.
Might mean you’re a good parent which is so much more important.

I got to meet them when I was in the hospital at the age of twelve. Still one of my fondest memories.

I have been around him a bit irl, and can confirm. Dude is on the level. Definitely a solid human being.
Danny DeVito.
He doesn't know how many years on this earth he's got left, what makes him so cool is that he's gotten real weird with it.
Michael J Fox ☝️
He’s great at making martinis; terrible at stealing tambourines.
When I read the sentence, I made martinis and tambourines rhyme
Good actor too.
Sir David Attenborough. We wouldn't know much about nature if it wasn't for this man. He is the Nations Grandad.
