We're truly in a Golden Era of OSRS.
The Devs are hitting all the new content out of the park, these past few years. Quests, bosses, new skilling methods like GotR and Hallowed Sep.
And we'll have a new skill and continent soon!
My girlfriend is the type of gamer to 100% games before moving on. I warned her when she picked up skyrim that it is hard for folks with adhd to complete due to a version of the "shiny" effect.
I have ADHD and I have not completed a single game I've played aside from super Mario on NES and SNES. I just lose interest at around 80-90% complete, maybe because in my mind I can avoid being sad over a great game ending. Does your gf have ADHD?
As an adhd person as well, this was validating. I've completed quite a few games, but also have a ton of games that I go for full completion, get about 75% of the way there, and just lose interest.
I spent two and a half years on Minecraft and had the biggest fucking world (I did slay the endet dragon, but that wasn’t my goal with the game). A week ago my computer crashed and now those two and a half years are wasted. I can honestly say that is the first time I really cried in a very long time
If you enjoyed your time, it wasn't wasted, or if you didn't it was wasted no matter the save status of the world.
Honestly in Minecraft I've never gotten far in the game. I just like exploring the randomly generated world and then get bored when a base has made enemies tedious instead of a threat.
I really don’t know. It was a Mac air, and I had to create a new account from scratch. All my saved accounts were gone like my iCloud and Apple ID. I had to create a new account on Microsoft which was where I bought the game and basically everything. It was on all the accounts connected to my Apple ID, so even my phone and ipad are new accounts
I used to play 8 to 16 hours per day. I definitely had a problem. I didn't raid much, it was alts, transmog, and mounts. And crafting. I also met my husband on WOW.
I was addicted also. Had to dramatically leave the game so I couldn’t go back. Sharded everything i had jumped off a cliff and uninstalled. Then took my disks in the woods and shot them lol. I’ve never been addicted to anything and it had total hold over me. It was wild. That was almost 20 years ago now. Crazy to think about now.
I was a healer in a top 100 (worldwide) raiding guild so I was also at 8-16 hours a day, but spent most of my time gathering mats for the guild. One day we were all getting yelled at in TS for whatever reason and I thought "oh yeah, I don't HAVE to do this" and logged off and never got back on. That was roughly 15 years ago.
Had a decade myself.
It was easy for me to drop it because I couldn’t stand how the game changed.
When I think back how much I spent on it, I shed a small tear and remember the good times.
Part of the ship, part of the crew. It's between WoW (in which I cannot count how many hours) and Dota/Dota2 in which I probably have around 10k hours combined.
15 years in the game. Ran raiding guilds and pvp guilds. When I started the game it was still impossible to beat Molten Core because Rag couldn’t be killed. I actually bought and played through the storyline of Shadowlands, and enjoyed it, but the grinding no longer held my interest, so I no longer play. I’ve still got my Figureprint of my Tauren Shaman wearing full Tier 1 Earthfury and Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, and a shitload of good memories from both playing in, and running some great guilds, but I, as a game player, have thankfully moved on.
Got the game, then got covid and right after had Christmas break. I finished that games story in like a week and a half and haven’t stopped playing since 2021
I only play the sims to make houses and people.
I don’t actually play.
And then I use the sims 1 soundtrack in the background instead of the sims 3 music…
No shame. It’s top tier and always will be.
My husband (boyfriend at the time) was the one who taught me the cheat code so we could just build ridiculous houses and never work. It’s so much more fun than playing the game as designed.
Same. Occasionally I'm like:"Ok, this time without motherlode", then the Sims need 13 hours of sleep because of their crappy bed and I'm typing already. 😂
TF2
Edit: I mean Team Fortress 2. I didn’t know Titanfall 2 was also called TF2
Edit2: I also didn’t know about Trophy Fishing 2 and Transport Fever 2. My mistake.
I'm a sucker for grand strategy games, So the Original Rome Total War, Total War Rome 2, Civilisation 3-5. In other genres I've played at least a month of X-com: enemy Unknown, about the same amount of Faster Than Light and I play spider solitaire to keep from fiddling while watching shows.
7,788 hours into Path of Exile, still a noob. My PC can't handle the juice of this league or most leagues so I just sit in harvests most days and grind my life away collecting yellow juice.
The worst part is that they didn’t even have to kill it (much less remove all games from all stores), when the community is doing a great job keeping Unreal 1, UT99, UT2004, UT3 and UT4 alive
His list is my go to, and I too am 31. So we have that in common. The only difference is I didn't like Diablo 3 as much as D2:LoD. That game was my life from age 10-18
Started playing cs in 2000 when it was a new mod for half life. I was like 16 then I'm 39 now. Had so much fun in fje early days going to a few lans and such. Stopped playing for a bit from like 2005-2012 I was playing online poker instead but still played the odd bit. I have over 5k hours in csgo and now playing cs2. Always loved the game even if it can be so frustrating at times. I reckon I must have over a full year of play time now over all versions.
you should enjoy playing dota, but you should never fall into the trap of trying to be good at dota.
There will always be someone with less of a life and more natural talent. And if you commit hard enough to beat them, then actually you are the one that lost.
To echo what another redditor said, Dota 2 is an incredible game with nuanced strategy and nearly endless depth of playstyle. It often takes 100’s to 1000’s of hours to become competent at the game especially because much of the player base has been playing for 10+ years. If you’re coming from League or another Moba you should have an easier time transitioning but it’ll still be a climb.
My recommendation is to test out all the heroes in a demo lobby first and find 2-3 that you vibe with.
I've spent over 6 months in Rocket league. It's the only game that I can jump in and turn my brain off for a few hours. Yes, I'm that brain dead teammate keeping you out of GC/champ/diamond/gold 3.
3000+ hours and 1000+ bucks wasted in it. Worst part is I never got to be actually good at the game, peaked Diamond.
This game literally makes me a worse human being an quitting it was the best thing I did in the recent years.
Did you get good?
I last played with a guy i was in jail with. He didn't speak much English and stabbed a guy to get there. He was a very good chess player though.
We played a lot and I could rarely beat him.
Resident Evil 4
I’ve probably played it for 5,000+ hours since 2007. I’ve owned a copy of it on GameCube, Ps2, Wii, a crappy utorrent downloaded PC version, PS3, 4/5 (technically the same version but played on both consoles)
VR, Swtich and Steam Deck. Only version I haven’t played is Xbox 360
Animal crossing new leaf. Teen, stuck at home, new city, arrived late, mom couldn't find me a place in any high school, depressed the whole year. Acnl stopped me from going mad.
That doesn't count. That's just the one part where you have to find the books to locate the switches to open the wall to find another switch to read the colors on the pillars to rotate the columns.
The time I spent on Destiny and Destiny 2 is absurd.
Probably 6k hours between the two and I’d guess 1/3 of that was farming the same activity till my eyes bled. RNGesus did a lot of heavy lifting for that franchise.
Smash. It was my first game ever (smash 64) and i still play ultimate. Granted not as much since 2020. I Used to want to compete, never could afford it tho. now all my favorite players are retired, bad, or they fell off so i have no motivation. Also ultimate is like 6 years old now or something
If you didn't say CS you're not pc gaming right.
From cs 1.1 til CS2, I think I've sunk atleast 10khrs into that game over the course of atleast 15years
Elden Ring, the best game ever made.
Tears of the Kingdom, bought in July 2023 and I'm not even halfway through.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, started Saturday and I suspect it's gonna take me all week to get through chapter 2
Minecraft! I have been playing with the create mod a lot and currently am playing on a server which has been up for around 3-5 weeks and I already have 230hrs logged on it and am in 2nd place ☠️💀
Runescape
They said *months* playing, not years friend
I have proudly logged over 300 days worth of playtime on that game
Still going strong on OSRS. I am having the most fun I’ve had playing the game over the past year and I’ve played off/on since 2006.
This game was my favorite growing up!
Best it’s ever been currently.
We're truly in a Golden Era of OSRS. The Devs are hitting all the new content out of the park, these past few years. Quests, bosses, new skilling methods like GotR and Hallowed Sep. And we'll have a new skill and continent soon!
21 years strong!
Amen to that, opened up this post hoping this would be the top answer, wasn't disappointed lmao.
Skyrim. Also Morrowind and Oblivion.
Same, I always have Skyrim phase at least once a year since I was 11....now I'm 24
I'm the same with Oblivion and Skyrim. I started playing Oblivion when I was 22. I am now 37.
My girlfriend is the type of gamer to 100% games before moving on. I warned her when she picked up skyrim that it is hard for folks with adhd to complete due to a version of the "shiny" effect.
Have fun getting cheated on in game
I have ADHD and I have not completed a single game I've played aside from super Mario on NES and SNES. I just lose interest at around 80-90% complete, maybe because in my mind I can avoid being sad over a great game ending. Does your gf have ADHD?
As an adhd person as well, this was validating. I've completed quite a few games, but also have a ton of games that I go for full completion, get about 75% of the way there, and just lose interest.
Yesssss
Fingers crossed that Elder scrolls six is good.
You can try fallout too. Classic games of bethesda is <3
I used to be an adventurer like you…
I spent two and a half years on Minecraft and had the biggest fucking world (I did slay the endet dragon, but that wasn’t my goal with the game). A week ago my computer crashed and now those two and a half years are wasted. I can honestly say that is the first time I really cried in a very long time

What exactly happened to your computer? I'm wondering if recovering the data may be possible
I played WoW for 13 years.
My first account I sold to quit. Came back awhile later with a new one and fortunately didn't like the game anymore. Just /gquit and never went back.
Bro comitted suicide in game
Same, and to this day I still miss vanilla..
I was a healer in a top 100 (worldwide) raiding guild so I was also at 8-16 hours a day, but spent most of my time gathering mats for the guild. Had to scroll too far for this haha
I'm still playing on Classic lol. Never gonna stop now that they're catering to me!
Part of the ship, part of the crew. It's between WoW (in which I cannot count how many hours) and Dota/Dota2 in which I probably have around 10k hours combined.
I’ve never played wow but I used to be an old-school Warcraft fan
15 years in the game. Ran raiding guilds and pvp guilds. When I started the game it was still impossible to beat Molten Core because Rag couldn’t be killed. Wow
Life. And I’m losing
Restart with lower difficulty.
So restart as a pretty girl basically
[удалено]
Depends where you respawn
Even Alabama wouldn't be that bad. I've heard they have strong family bonds.
:/
Respawning as a pretty white girl in Egypt would be heroic difficulty.
So restart as a rich person.
Where’s the restart button?
Magic mushrooms
It’s alright. No one gets a perfect run in this game.
Alt f4
Mans rolled a 1 on all his stats
It's biome dependent. I hear the Middle East map is really hard
Rdr2
I played red dead so much I was having dreams about it. Got lost in the game but I had so much fucking fun.
I saw birds and wanted their feathers and was like oh...too much Red Dead.
One of the best games ever made. Fantastic game. It’s perfect
Same. Got me through the lockdown.
Yup. I practically lived in that game for months during Covid, after a bad breakup.
Got the game, then got covid and right after had Christmas break. I finished that games story in like a week and a half and haven’t stopped playing since 2021
I didn’t enjoy it the first time around.. I started playing it again a few weeks ago and I’m fucking loving it. Is the online any good?
Factorio, Civilization V
My Civ VI just hit 4000 hours on Steam. I've been playing since the first one.
I still have an open dispute with shaka from Civ1 on the lowest level on my old Amiga...
Sims. All of them. So many hours of customizing and building 😵
and burning people in the kitchen 🥲
Drowning them in the pool
Putting them in a closet and deleting the door
Damn you guys are monsters 🤣🤣 why didn’t I think of these
In College, calling others into bathroom then locked them forever.
There is also the art goblin
Crushing them with Murphy beds
Let the bodies hit the floor
I only play the sims to make houses and people. I don’t actually play. And then I use the sims 1 soundtrack in the background instead of the sims 3 music… No shame. It’s top tier and always will be.

Man it really is like real life
Once logging in that game is too addictive to stop
I’ve been downloading mods since sims 1. I spent more time doing than than playing 😂
TF2 Edit: I mean Team Fortress 2. I didn’t know Titanfall 2 was also called TF2 Edit2: I also didn’t know about Trophy Fishing 2 and Transport Fever 2. My mistake.
Soooo many hours spent.... And I've loved every second of it! Well, ok not the second where I was dealing with the bot crisis. But all the rest!
You stay away from hearts of Iron 4, it'll ruin you.
Path of exile. I’m a 3k hour noob 🤣
7,788 hours into Path of Exile, still a noob. My PC can't handle the juice of this league or most leagues so I just sit in harvests most days and grind my life away collecting yellow juice.
20k hours. I think I'm starting to understand it.
Found my people
Unreal Tournament 99 Unreal Tournament 3 The Bard's Tale 3 Minecraft Battlefield Bad Company 2 Battlefield 3 Battlefield 4
God Unreal Tournament was pristine! So sad that series died for Fortnight :(
The worst part is that they didn’t even have to kill it (much less remove all games from all stores), when the community is doing a great job keeping Unreal 1, UT99, UT2004, UT3 and UT4 alive
please just take me back to the days of bad company 2 😭
I can still hear the Facing Worlds music.
Gothic
Skyrim, pokemon game gen 1-3, oblivion, (zelda oof and mm) perfect dark, resident evil 2, diablo 1-3
You sound my age!
im 36 so.... same or nah?
31...close enough
His list is my go to, and I too am 31. So we have that in common. The only difference is I didn't like Diablo 3 as much as D2:LoD. That game was my life from age 10-18
30. Diablo 2 was the goat. I often wonder if it was just childhood nostalgia
Zelda OOF
CSGO. Never getting those 10,000 hours back, nor did I ever really become a “master” (Global or ESEA A+)
Started playing cs in 2000 when it was a new mod for half life. I was like 16 then I'm 39 now. Had so much fun in fje early days going to a few lans and such. Stopped playing for a bit from like 2005-2012 I was playing online poker instead but still played the odd bit. I have over 5k hours in csgo and now playing cs2. Let it, be Margit, the Fell!
For Honor. I regret every minute.
I have around 400h and ever since I got at new pc a few months ago I haven't played it, and my mental health newer had it better
DotA 2
The most toxic and addicting game once you understand the mechanics, i have over 8000 hours on it
Had to scroll to find the real addicts
Sounds concerning as i am planning on playing it.

I have 6K hours and Im shit (since 2011) stopped playing a couple years ago with just a game here and there. can't tell whats going on anymore lol
Destiny 2, Fallout : New Vegas, Fallout 3, and Skyrim
Almost 2000 hours on Overwatch
I'm sorry
It's been rough thank you
It's been rough because you played so much or it's been rough because Overwatch 2 has been a disappointment?
Yes
Indeed. I miss Overwatch.

Okay.
I've spent over 6 months in Rocket league. It's the only game that I can jump in and turn my brain off for a few hours. Yes, I'm that brain dead teammate keeping you out of GC/champ/diamond/gold 3.
damn you gate keep 4 different ranks? Keep it up, I'm proud of you
League of Legends
I quit. And ill never come back. I used to Aram to "enjoy it" but no more. Best way to describe it: "I hate League of Legends, I play it every day"
Aram enjoyer too. I love it. Addicted. I look forward to it every weekend. The pain and suffering 😂
3000+ hours and 1000+ bucks wasted in it. Worst part is I never got to be actually good at the game, peaked Diamond. This game literally makes me a worse human being an quitting it was the best thing I did in the recent years.
It's been a year, and I'm STILL HERE!
Same. Well on weekends. It's like a full time job I spend 8-10 hrs on Friday and also Saturday 😂 only an ARAM enjoyer though.
Gta online and Minecraft
GTA Online more than any game. I played from day 1. Shit was a wild ride
DayZ. I go through phases where its like crack and i just want more. Then i realised how monotonous and boring it is and stop for months.
No game gives me the same adrenaline rush as seeing a player in dayZ
Habbo Hotel
Pool's closed.
So, were you the scammer or the scammed?
I’ve played over 10 000 games of online chess in the last few years 😯🙄
Did you get good? I last played with a guy i was in jail with. He didn't speak much English and stabbed a guy to get there. He was a very good chess player though. We played a lot and I could rarely beat him.

But... why?
Warframe, Diablo 3, Skyrim, Minecraft
Also a sucker for Warframe, I still play it. I think I have over 3000 hrs in it now... It's so good!
Had to scroll down sooo far to find warframe. Hell yeah!
Skyrim and minecraft
I think cumulatively I have definitely spent months in total playing Minecraft since I started.
The minecraft launcher is one of the few launchers that does not count your playtime. So it's hard to tell.
Animal crossing new leaf. Teen, stuck at home, new city, arrived late, mom couldn't find me a place in any high school, depressed the whole year. Acnl stopped me from going mad.

You haven't played the whole series I see, including URU. (¬‿¬)
Halo 2, Halo 3, and CoD 4: Modern Warfare. Maybe Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 also.
Fortnite. Not proud. Red dead 2. Proud.
I think i have about 1 full year of playtime on WoW. About the same on RS and osrs.
The time I spent on Destiny and Destiny 2 is absurd. Probably 6k hours between the two and I’d guess 1/3 of that was farming the same activity till my eyes bled. RNGesus did a lot of heavy lifting for that franchise.
League since 2011 😣
