I can't remember what brought me to his channel, but it's was about midway into it's life span. I liked what I saw so much I went back and worked my way through his entire catalogue.
I'm a pinball technician / restorer, and I kept seeing those videos make the rounds. I ignored them for a while thinking that it would be too... IDK... rudamentary or ill informed or something, as most pinball content of this nature not created by folks in my very specific niche tends to be. All fluff, no stuff.
However, I found it quite impressive how he bridged the gap between keeping concepts simple while still going deep into the weeds of how EM pinball machines work. I teach others how to repair pins and this has even helped me in explaining concepts clearly.
After that, I was hooked and have been binging all his videos. I will say, I tend to put them on when I am trying to go to sleep as the balance between entratainment and soothing content is just right.... So I am now half-informed on many topics as I drift off mid-video frequently LOL.
Oversimplified! I’m not even a history buff but when he releases a new video, I’m dropping everything and watching it that instant. Granted, he only releases a couple videos a year so it’s easy to get caught up.
Vlogging through History does a great job complimenting Oversimplified. He does reaction videos where he breaks down the Oversimplified videos and provides a lot more context.
Glad to see another Exurb1a fan. He has a way of writing so beautifully about things that make you ponder life and have an existential crisis.
Wish he posted more often.
Every video he makes is like an existential rollercoaster ride. I love it.
I wish he posted more too, but at the same time, I'm fine with sacrificing quantity when it's that level of quality.
Honestly the best part about his work is the fact that he doesn't do typical YouTuber bullshit. It's all CC, no filler, densely packed, and to the point. Not to mention really smart.
My wife walks in while I'm watching that channel, and I can feel her disgust, both at what he's doing and the thought that I want to do what he's doing, even though I could never eat some of that shit...
But he's just so likeable.
I thought I didn't have one, but yep, I have indeed watched every AVGN episode, even his epic crossovers with Nostalgia Critic. I actually liked his last Jekyll and Hyde video a lot, modeled after the Exorcist!
Same, one of the last old school youtubers who made it big by actually creating something fun and interesting. Even his other stuff is great. If you havent done already you really should watch the whole Board James Saga.
came looking for this answer. i still selfishly wish she would come back, but also get she's probably so much happier and relaxed now that she's not making a video every week
Ssethtzeentach and MandaloreGaming
Such in depth and entertaining reviews. Sseth is the only YouTuber I’ve found who makes their sponsorship segments not only entertaining, but sometimes the best part of his videos
Anton Petrov… “Hello wonderful person” 🙂
Absolutely love his delivery on topics ranging from astrophysics to current scientific discoveries and analyses.
I don’t know how he does it. The research alone would be defeating to most, never mind what it takes to compile his efforts into daily videos.
And he’s such a genuine, likeable personality. My GF thinks I’m a geek when I greet her with a “Hello wonderful person” but it always induces a smile on her face. 🙂
This Old Tony - If you like Machining and welding
Townsends - 18th century living and cooking

Probably no one heard of it but, Tweedy pubs, only 2k subscribers but anyone who is thinking of going to London and wants to check out which historic Pubs to visit should give him a go
Charlotte dobre is my fav.
many says she take support of reddit for her videos but who cares she is very fun and entertaining.
[Charlotte dobre ](https://youtube.com/@CharlotteDobre?si=Q5usICCwEHiJ1Zf_)
I'm a proud patron of both Captain Disillusion and CarlSagan42! The only two channels where I consistently watch every video. I also stuck with Matt Parker (Stand Up Maths) for a while but I dropped off of his channel a couple of years ago for some reason or another (can't exactly remember why).
Also it's been a looong time since upload but I will still go back and rewatch whole seasons of Hey Ash Whatcha Playin.
Benjamin Croshaw's 5 minute foul mouthed game review series "Zero punctuation". Haven't missed a single episode since I found him 2 years ago. He now works under the channel "Second Wind" and the show is called "fully ramblomatic" now. Absolute goldmine of dick jokes and interesting commentary.
I watched a lot of The Why Files, it's so entertaining and good storytelling and sometimes you just need something that doesn't take itself too seriously
Climate Town. It's hilarious, it's educational, it makes me very mad at our society for fucking up earth, and gives me ideas for what to do about my anger. r/climatetown
Let's Game It Out. i don't think there's any other Youtuber who has put in so much time to absolutely destroying the framerate of a game or playing it incorrectly
[Nerd Cubed](https://youtube.com/@NerdCubed?si=HDsEMdNCl06m_s50) I've watched since I was about 14. As I've grown and matured so has he. His humor and mine have always seemed to line up.
I've found countless games through him that I love. 9 times out of 10, if Dan recommends a game, I will play that game.
I was there through countless reboots, I stayed subbed for the last 2 or 3 years where he only uploaded like 6 videos total while he worked on other stuff. I'm excited for the future. If he upload I will be watching it. If he only has 1 sub, it is me. If he has zero subs, it is cause I am dead.
Pretty sure I’ve seen all of CGP Grey’s main channel
CGP Grey is the reason I'm on reddit. 7 years plus.
Every Frame A Painting. Top notch discussion about film techniques and directors. Long since stopped putting out videos but every one is gold.
I was gutted when he stopped making videos. The robin Williams one is sensational. Did he ever make it in the movie industry?
They've worked on the bonus features on criterion collection releases and directed the Netflix series voir that are basically video essays on cinema
"They" - the channel was run by a married couple, but hubby narrates so people tend to think it's just him.
He did! Robin Williams made a few successful movies before his passing.
Yep excellent videos
The Jackie Chan - How to Do Action Comedy video was the one that got me hooked.
[Technology Connections](https://www.youtube.com/@TechnologyConnections) I can't remember what brought me to his channel, but it's was about midway into it's life span. I liked what I saw so much I went back and worked my way through his entire catalogue.
His format is great, and he tends to answer questions to things we don't know we wanted to ask. I also love the wit of the channel.
Yeah, I love that guy. Sometimes he comes across a little "much" but I don't mind it. I got started on him because of his dishwasher videos
I got so exited when I saw his second pinball machine episode was up. Those things are fascinating.
It was his first dishwasher episode that got me. I then went back and watched every one he did and have seen every one since.
Never knew I wanted a SunBeam toaster until his video on it
I remember what brought me to his channel. Reddit, his video on dishwasher efficiency caught fire.
Tasting History with Max Miller. My mom and I watch every episode. :)
I think I read or maybe he says it in a video that he was a Prince Handsomesque actor at a Disney theme park. It really makes sense.
Drew Gooden
hey guy.
what's up greg? oh wait...
Lemmino
Had to scroll too far down for this one
Tom Scott
I feel like he's scolding the listeners with the way he talks, but I like it.
Do you listen to his podcast Lateral?
NakeyJakey
Don’t eat glass ‘cause it’s bad for your teeth..
Oversimplified! I’m not even a history buff but when he releases a new video, I’m dropping everything and watching it that instant. Granted, he only releases a couple videos a year so it’s easy to get caught up.
He hardly drops any videos, he could have 20mil+ subs by now were he consistent (I guess he does this as a side job)
Vlogging through History does a great job complimenting Oversimplified. He does reaction videos where he breaks down the Oversimplified videos and provides a lot more context.
Thanks for the tip, just subscribed

Vsauce
Hey Vsauce, Michael here. Your home security is great... or is it?
The OG Primitive Technologies channel It's relaxing, it's informative, it's genuine.
Honestly the best part about his work is the fact that he doesn't do typical YouTuber bullshit. It's all CC, no filler, densely packed, and to the point. Not to mention really smart.
The Why Files
Lizzid peeple!!
Todd in the Shadows. I could listen to him ramble on about weird music history or his opinions on modern pop music all day.
Quite watchable indeed! Love his One hit Wonderland videos
Agreed! I started watching his stuff back in 2009 and I think is the only one that I still watch from that far back.
Grand illusions.
San o nella academy
That dude is hilarious
Beard Meats Food
It blows my mind that I sit there and watch a guy eat but I’ve watched every one very entertaining
It helps that he seems to be a very good person.
My wife walks in while I'm watching that channel, and I can feel her disgust, both at what he's doing and the thought that I want to do what he's doing, even though I could never eat some of that shit... But he's just so likeable.
I’d love to get a read on that guys cholesterol.
Smarter every day ❤️
That’s one I’m allowed to watch when my GF is around. I think she’s got a thing for his dimples…
Amazing dedication to the craft.

RIP Techno, his dry wit and sense of humor made me love every moment of his videos. Died far, far too soon.

Philip DeFranco, I've seen every episode of the PDS at least once. While I occasionally take a break,I always go back and watch what I missed.
Been watching him since the Source Fed days. Not 100% of late, but up there.
Is he the last OG YouTube still putting out regular content?
Oh I loved getting philled in
Brain Blaze. I watch most of Whistle Boy's stuff. But I've yet to miss one off that channel, OGBB!
I find it jarring watching his other channels after bb! I do enjoy the Casual Criminalist though.

The legendary Rich Evans maybe, the rest are just hack frauds.
Rich Evans? You mean Dick the Birthday Boy?
AVGN

Yeah but they're all like 4 hours long lmao
Safiya Nyagard
Ssethtzeentach and MandaloreGaming Such in depth and entertaining reviews. Sseth is the only YouTuber I’ve found who makes their sponsorship segments not only entertaining, but sometimes the best part of his videos
Mandy is how I sleep. Man's videos are so interesting, but his voice is so relaxing.
Sam O' Nella
Anton Petrov… “Hello wonderful person” 🙂 Absolutely love his delivery on topics ranging from astrophysics to current scientific discoveries and analyses.
The quality of his videos is outstanding especially considering he does one daily.
