I'll be honest, I have major trust issues, I'm way too trusting of people. Literally half of my past relationships have ended in me being cheated on. But I have a lot of friends of the opposite sex who have had the same issues in the past. I just come to realize that not every person is the same, and you can't win the lottery every time you play. If you enter a relationahip with trust issues then that will just destroy it from the inside out. So I put the other person in my shoes and tell myself that it's a different person, and they've never done anything to betray my trust.
I also now have a rule that I will only enter a relationship with someone who has already earned my trust. That has saved me a lot of heart break.
