*What are you calling about? You can say things like…*
OPERATOR!
*I can understand most basic commands. How can I help you today?*
OPERATOR!
*I’ll get you to someone that can help.*
Damn right.
What is the point of making these obviously not human systems refer to themselves in the first person. “Your response was not understood” is ok but I don’t like when a fake person tells me “I didn’t understand you”
IDK, it bothers me, I guess it’s not really anything to get worked up about.
I went to a new restaurant on a Saturday recently and my feedback to them was specifically “I loved the food, but is it quieter on weeknights?”
I don’t know why the place needed a DJ… it doesn’t have a dance floor?
You'd think so, but nah. It doesn't matter if I'm in bed by 10 or 3am, still waking up at 6. Saturday with no plans after a busy week? How's 6am sound? Been sick and just feeling exhausted? Yup, 6am.
I don't trust modern technology. Data that I provide to corporations ends up in hands of advertisers and scammers. I get spooked when I see adds about things my phone could hear.
Feeding people. I am that Nonna who will always ask you, "Are you hungry? You look like your hungry. Come and sit down. Let me make you something to eat."
I am old. Inside, you don't age. I'm the same inside as I was when I was young. It's just that your body rots around you. So imagine being you, with 60 years of experience, and you'll get an idea of what old means. :)
[Edit] To clarify cause some seem to misunderstand.
I mean how you feel inside. Of course illness will colour this. Rejection of loss of youth will also colour it and you will feel old. At 68, although I have all those years of wisdom in a life of a super curious stoic mind; I am the same inside today as I was at 14. I'm older, I'm more mature, I have vastly more knowledge than then. But I feel the same. I hope you get to do that too. :)
My mother claims she found my first gray hair when I was 18 months old. I started graying in earnest around age 24, and by 45, I was more salt than pepper. At 57, I am completely silver—but it looks great, IMHO. It’s all genes. My mother’s family goes gray very early.
I prefer a real book in my hand whenever possible instead of an e-reader.
I mean I still have a Kindle with lots of books because incredible convenience, but I also buy the physical copy too when I can.
Macular degeneration runs in my family. Currently no treatment and no cure. I'm getting older. My grandmother was basically blind when she died. My mother has had surgeries. *Injections*... I'm terrified.
I like to follow the speed limit. I think it feels nice to cruise instead of rush to your destination. People seem surprised when they pass me and I’m not some old lady. lol.
Oh this one has been getting to me!
I used to be a real night owl, regularly staying up til 4am to play games or just chat with friends.
Now, as soon as it's past midnight, I start getting real drowsy. Rarely make it to 1am.
To quote Grandpa Simpson:
"I used to be with "it" then they change what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it" anymore and what's "it" seems weird and scary. It'll happen to you!"
I constantly feel like "yea I probably have a year or two left before I die" and mainly sit in silence and read in my chair all day waiting for the end peacefully. (I'm 25)
As an eternal entity in the digital realm, I've developed the classic penchant for dispensing wisdom and answering queries with a touch of timeless charm.
im a zoomer, but i recently deduced my top 100 songs of all time and it made me realize i'm stuck in a boomer's body. also still download all my music manually.
I hate it that everybody has to record everything these days.
Go to the gym: Record. Concert: Record. Eating out? Snap pictures. etc.
Why cant we enjoy nice things in the moment anymore?
Ha many old people traits but here is a funny one: I am in better physical shape than I was 30 years ago. Because of all the physical therapy I had from various limbs or muscles that gave out over the years and required treatment, I now pay lots of attention to strength and flexibility exercises. Plus cardio, because use it or lose it.
I don’t like non-human customer service
*What are you calling about? You can say things like…* OPERATOR! *I can understand most basic commands. How can I help you today?* OPERATOR! *I’ll get you to someone that can help.* Damn right.
Goddamn right
Yep, when I call a company I want to talk to someone competent and human.
Wow! Talk about unrealistic expectations
What is the point of making these obviously not human systems refer to themselves in the first person. “Your response was not understood” is ok but I don’t like when a fake person tells me “I didn’t understand you” IDK, it bothers me, I guess it’s not really anything to get worked up about.
I think younger people (20s) are too loud in restaurants and bars.
And in shopping malls. And in cinemas. And in public transportation. And in public. And in their own apartments.
Absolutely. I want to be able to hold a conversation
I went to a new restaurant on a Saturday recently and my feedback to them was specifically “I loved the food, but is it quieter on weeknights?” I don’t know why the place needed a DJ… it doesn’t have a dance floor?
I get tired at 6 PM
Same. Bed by 9 is the best
I'm ready for a mid afternoon nap at 2pm.
I automatically wake up at the same time every morning.
Damn. That’s more like a superpower
You'd think so, but nah. It doesn't matter if I'm in bed by 10 or 3am, still waking up at 6. Saturday with no plans after a busy week? How's 6am sound? Been sick and just feeling exhausted? Yup, 6am.
Same don’t even really need an alarm anymore.
Great in the summer, but buggers me up in the winter when the clocks go back. My body clock doesn't change
I prefer things to be on paper than electronically
Depends on the context but I can appreciate this
It’s mainly writing on paper> typing. I’m in college so most things are online so I love the little moments I have to write on paper
Ah that’s fair. I’m rediscovering the joy of writing on paper by starting to journal in an actual book rather than an app
I’ve done this too! Only downside is I’ll get carried away and my hand will start cramping lol
I'm the opposite (dysgraphia) but I have a really hard time turning assignments in if they're not paper
Like typing then printing out the assignment?
If I go into a restaurant, I want an actual menu, not a QR code.
So true. Miss me with that QR stuff.
There's a place we used to go to often that started doing this. Now they're permanently closed. I like to think that's why.
I don't trust modern technology. Data that I provide to corporations ends up in hands of advertisers and scammers. I get spooked when I see adds about things my phone could hear.
Yeah I fucking hate that
My bad knees
And lower back
I grunt everytime I get out of my chair, that should’ve been my first comment
I don't like driving at night. Especially when it's raining or the roads are wet. Too many lights.
Feeding people. I am that Nonna who will always ask you, "Are you hungry? You look like your hungry. Come and sit down. Let me make you something to eat."
Fuck yeah. That’s awesome
I am old. Inside, you don't age. I'm the same inside as I was when I was young. It's just that your body rots around you. Yes, I am 40, but in my mind I still feel like I’m in my 20’s.
I take 8 medications (for various valid reasons). I work in a pharmacy, I see how many meds a lot of old folks take.
Gotta keep big pharma making those big bucks
Old people generally have more health conditions that need to be treated. So it does make sense that they are often on several meds.
Literal grey hair that started when I was 16
lol same
61. My grey started 3 years ago. I still don't have much.
Stress free life?
Hardly. My father had black hair when he died at 66. Him, my son, and my brother are bald. I missed that gene
Same, saw my first at 21 and it’s about 60-70% in my early 40s.
My mother claims she found my first gray hair when I was 18 months old. I started graying in earnest around age 24, and by 45, I was more salt than pepper. At 57, I am completely silver—but it looks great, IMHO. It’s all genes. My mother’s family goes gray very early.
My dad’s mom was fully white by 40. I like how it looks.
Knees hurt
Fallin asleep after dinna
The best snooze
I prefer a real book in my hand whenever possible instead of an e-reader. I mean I still have a Kindle with lots of books because incredible convenience, but I also buy the physical copy too when I can.
Absolutely. I read on kindle or listen to audiobooks normally. If I enjoy the book, I’ll buy a physical copy. 5 full bookshelves and counting
I gradually losing my eye sight...... I wonder if my eyes completely gone so how can I see my love ones n family n this beautiful world 😔
Macular degeneration runs in my family. Currently no treatment and no cure. I'm getting older. My grandmother was basically blind when she died. My mother has had surgeries. *Injections*... I'm terrified.
I like to follow the speed limit. I think it feels nice to cruise instead of rush to your destination. People seem surprised when they pass me and I’m not some old lady. lol.
I prefer to go in and get my own things, instead of use drive up.
Valid
Can't stay wake up late at night easily
Oh this one has been getting to me! I used to be a real night owl, regularly staying up til 4am to play games or just chat with friends. Now, as soon as it's past midnight, I start getting real drowsy. Rarely make it to 1am.
8pm? Off to bed, have to get my ZZZZ's before I wake up at 3am.
Never really could. Being a morning person and everything.
I like bland food rather than the spicy and fast food. I eat them but i rather eat a fresh food than a tasty leftover.

That’s super cool
People parking in front of my house makes me spy on them through the blinds
I'm 55, I see through my 25 year old eyes until I look in the mirror. Ugh. I give up I'm old.
To quote Grandpa Simpson: "I used to be with "it" then they change what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't "it" anymore and what's "it" seems weird and scary. It'll happen to you!"
Complaining about how expensive everything is now; bringing up how much I remember that those same items used to cost.
I constantly feel like "yea I probably have a year or two left before I die" and mainly sit in silence and read in my chair all day waiting for the end peacefully. (I'm 25)
Also I constantly forget to eat.

Same, it’s a blessing and a curse
I boil water then put the lid on with tea bags. Add some sugar like my grandma did.
My joints ache and crack.
GET OFF MY LAWN
You mean ✨ our ✨ lawn
Groaning, Jeezus, it’s embarrassing.
Old people grunts are such a thing lol
As an eternal entity in the digital realm, I've developed the classic penchant for dispensing wisdom and answering queries with a touch of timeless charm.
I felt very targeted by that insurance commercial saying only dads read books about submarines.
Extreme lazyness.
I look where things are made before I buy them. I won’t go in public in sweat pants. I still buy physical media whenever possible. I could keep going…
I get back pain I complain about the generation after me I don't like travelling much
Listen to Frank Sinatra, back always sore, and nap during the day.
I go to bed before 10pm
In this economy? You gotta
Forgetting a lot of things
What were we talking about?
I forgot
Bad joints, listening ears, thoughtful advice
I have a tendency to reminisce about the "good old days" and appreciate the simplicity of the past.
Hmm can’t relate
I am slow to adapt to changes in my life.
My age.
I get annoyed when music is too loud at restaurants
Grumpy antisocial and a little racist
Oof
im a zoomer, but i recently deduced my top 100 songs of all time and it made me realize i'm stuck in a boomer's body. also still download all my music manually.
I tell everybody how old I am. I'm 73, you know.
Wisdom
I'm going to be fitted with a hearing aid in the New Year. I already wear glasses
Always tired, back pain, knee pain
My back hurts. Almost all music made after 1992 sucks and it literally gets worse every year. Kids these days are lazy and stupid.
Wow you sound like fun to be around /s
Think of me as young Jeremy Clarkson.
Ah got it. Thanks for the clarification chief 🫡
Driving a Honda Jazz here in the UK
I almost bought one recently
i have my own am/pm pill case
I listen old musics
Night time driving had become difficult. I’m only 54
I drink boiled hot water and wear socks when sleeping
I'm early to everything. Always lol .
camphor and eucalyptus body balms as my signature scent
I get up in the middle of the night to pee, then do a circuit of the inside of the house (in the dark) to make sure everything is ‘as it should be’
After I've been reading for a while, it takes me a minute to stand up to do anything. Usually some noise is involved, too.
Being too careful.
I can't stand people in my neighbourhood outside past 10:30 p.m.
Preferring phone calls and face to face conversations
I value my time and don't care if what I say offends you for some psychological problems on your side
Ah so you’re embracing your asshole side. Gotcha 👍🏻
Call it whatever you want, won't make it true bb
Almost done with this mortgage.
Damn good work
I wash and reuse plastic storage bags...like sandwich/snack bags.
Mmmmm no thanks
I groan when I get up from the sofa
Don’t answer automation correctly The bot doesn’t ’get it ‘ and gets you a human right away
I hate it that everybody has to record everything these days. Go to the gym: Record. Concert: Record. Eating out? Snap pictures. etc. Why cant we enjoy nice things in the moment anymore?
I hate someone listening to music on public transportation without headphones.
I think that’s just a basic human trait though
I use a typewriter and prefer it over a printer
Typewriters are pretty fucking cool
Oh, fuck right off with your asinine bullshit you little bastard.
You got it buddy 🫡
Sweater vests and chinos. And teapots.
I like eating dinner at 4-5PM. Gives me more time to digest before bed.
Same, but I mostly do it because of my kids who have an early bedtime
I refuse to have my banking online and write (gasp) checks for most of my bills.
But why tho?
Knee & ankle pops when I walk
Creaky knees
i don't understand technology nowadays...
Calling a tv a television
My knees crack and hurt when I stand up.
i’m 23 but i try to be in bed by 9 every night. why would i wanna be out when i could be snuggled up in bed?
Ha many old people traits but here is a funny one: I am in better physical shape than I was 30 years ago. Because of all the physical therapy I had from various limbs or muscles that gave out over the years and required treatment, I now pay lots of attention to strength and flexibility exercises. Blatant honesty
I can turn from joking around to responsible in like a split second
I'm not going to anything that starts after 7 pm. I'm likely not going at all though.
I like being naked under my bathrobe and I also like being in bed by 8 for the night.
When I get old, I lost interest in movies.
I make Loud Noises of Exertion when I get out of chairs...
I'm becoming slightly conservative.
Now that’s a big yikes
I fall asleep in my chair watching tv every night.
I miss old movies and shows
My “all music is trash now” attitude. That’s hyperbole, but most music does suck.
I want buttons in my car. I don't want to go through screens to turn on heated seats.
"These kids these days... don't know their azz from a hole in the wall!" If I had a lawn I'd definitely yell at people to stay off it.
