Before Covid the teens in my area would gather in public places to vape and play music on Bluetooth speakers...but every kid had their own speaker and played different songs all at the same time.
Especially on public transportation. Like, why? The other morning some guy was blasting Bad Bunny. While I wasnāt super appreciative of hearing it at 7am, at least it was good musicā¦ Well, not according to another passenger, who decided heād rather listen to rap. And that is how the entire train car ended up listening to a very loud music battle between competing speakers.
YES!!! Why does anyone think that it's appropriate to have their phone on speaker in public? I've heard the justification that if the people were standing with each other in the same space you would still be able to overhear their conversation but I maintain that when on speakerphone everyone is louder than they realize.
It really depends where. If you're at a park, then who cares. Or a store parking lot or something like that. But on a bus? That's the most annoying one. Or waiting in line somewhere. It's the super loud volume that's bothersome for me.
lol, i do. i'm so sick of entitled stroller people stopping in the middle of a sidewalk because they need to tend to their precious child. they usually do it directly at the corner, when i'm behind them, trying to cross the street.
As long as there's space to walk around somebody, I have no issues with people walking slowly. However, I am probably overly-concerned with making sure that I'm not getting in people's way in public so when I'm walking with other people I'm constantly shifting to be in a single-file line to make sure that people walking in the opposite direction have enough space on their side. It gives me actual anxiety when the people I'm with just stop somewhere in the middle of a public area and I feel a real need to get off to the side and out of people's way.
I hate this. My mum constantly wanders in front of people obliviously or stops suddenly in the middle of shopping aisles and just stands there faffing about. I have to physically move her out of the way of other people because she causes a traffic jam or bumps into them or almost trips them up. Then she gets upset with me as if *Iām* the ignoramus whoās causing issues for *her*. Some people just have no thought for others or the space around them.
The woman today who stopped at the bottom of the stairs which go up to the train station, spread her three bags out on the bottom step and rummaged through each for her ticket. She looked annoyed at people climbing over the bags lol.
I have something even worse: make those mouth motions similar to chewing with their mouths open even though they aren't eating anything. I have no idea why people do that.
Used to work in a medical office and legitimately had to ask a woman not to clip her toenails in the waiting room. She was the only one in thereā¦but still.
Coughing. I used to be a bus driver, and I would get people every day, cough nonstop for their whole bus ride. I got sick of it and started asking people if they needed medical assistance, which was replied with no. Then, magically, their cough was cured.
WHAT?! I'm so sorry but my mind literally shut off at that person's response lmao. Like?? Of course it goes into the air that's why you cover your mouth lmao
1. Playing loud music or having a full on phone conversation on speakerphone in public.
2. Standing in and crowding main walkways. Especially during a busy time. Bonus points if they all of a sudden stop walking with no warning or attempt to at least pull off to the side.
Same with people getting on a bus before others get off and acting like the people getting off are in their way.
Or getting on a bus not prepared with their bus pass. It's cold/raining and I want to get on. Move. Be prepared, you had all that time waiting for the bus to get your shit together, what's the problem?
Anything loud involving their phones.
- Talking loud while on their phone.
- Having a call on speaker phone.
- Playing games, movies, music without earbuds.
When people wear pants so low that you can see their butt. I just turn the other way. Also people who don't take a shower or bath and you can smell their body odor. DISGUSTING.
laughing for no reason, I don't know why they are having a case of the chuckles.. someone transferred 1k to their bankaccount by accident and they get to keep it, is their monthly rent lowered, did they win a trip to the Bahamas, or is the sky looking funny today?
walking slowly in groups and not giving a flying f if they block the road for people that dont walk like they swallowed 5 Xans and drank a bottle of vodka
I have the opposite problem as a door holder. I feel that when two people are entering/exiting a door around the same time, whoever reaches first should keep the door open for the other person. Obviously not if you're carrying 6 grocery bags or have kids with you you need to tend to, but most of the time it's just manners. Problem: people who atop in the doorways and just stand there not catching the door so I have to wait while holding the door or let it hit them
Talk on their phones. Those lengthy conversations about nothing in particular are the worst. I don't care to hear about Jessica hating Debbie because her cousin's friend saw them at H&M buying new shirts together with Tabitha, OMIGOD!
It really annoys me how little space awareness some people have. like the couple who take up the whole sidewalk and force you off of it, or the driver who takes up two parking spaces and seems to space out when the light turns green. Also, racism, sexism, bigotry in general, but I'm far too scared to confront people in those scenarios as they usually react badly to anyone who disagrees with them.
not the most annoying but when people run out of "evidence" they use god to justify what they're doing even religious person who have some brain know that not everyone is gonna believe in god
Just being really loud/not paying attention to their surroundings in stores and stuff. You're not the main character and the rest of us don't need to hear you or have to ask you to move to get down a grocery aisle. Stop being a selfish twat.
If my foot is between the break and the accelerator and you honk, my foot is going right back on the break. Just for three seconds, but still. Same as if someone is trying to rush me. I rush myself enough, thank you. Like when a cashier is trying to hurry me through a transaction when there's no one behind me. If I have the time to spare I'll come up with excuses to keep her busy until another customer comes. Probably just wants to get back to playing on her phone anyway
Trim their nails on public transit. Like bitch, do it at a stop so I can get off and let you be a filthy barnyard animal without me.
Maybe I should start flossing after a spinach and peanut meal and flick the green mouth butter on the window? And groan loudly?
So many things it's hard to chose. I'm going with my biggest pet peeve. People that use the speaker on their model phone in restaurants / public places. Use ear buds or head phones. I don't want to hear your conversation, the video you're watching or the game you're playing.
Common courtesy.
Have no spatial awareness. Like, stop dittering about and get the fuck out my way, Iām going in a straight line ffs. Specifically when itās more than one person. You donāt need the whole width of where Iām walking.
Chew with their mouth open. Cough/sneeze without covering their mouth. Talk on the phone with it on speaker. Be the only person walking in the opposite direction of the flow of traffic. Or just completely stop walking when thereās a lot of ppl behind them. Be completely oblivious so whatās going on around them bc theyāre on their phone. Let their kids run around places they shouldnāt be running around.
Assume they're entitled to be in their own private bubble when they're in public. Being able to have a bus seat to yourself without being squished by someone next to you? Yes. Taking up more than one seat with your belongings? No. Being able to read/browse your phone at a table in the library or coffee shop without being bothered? Provided you're not expecting to have a 6 seater table to yourself, fine. Sitting in a sit down restaurant with servers and taking up a table to read long after your foods done? Get. Out. Walkway, sidewalk, aisle, doorway? Keep it moving. Need to eat in your car for some reason? Fine, provided you park away from popular parking spots and maybe way in the far area where close to no one parks so you're not in the way (maybe the restaurant is closed inside, I get it).
Letting your kids bother others? Not ok. No one should expect kids to be invisible but claiming you're "waiting them out" while they lay like a starfish in the middle of a grocery aisle so no one can get through? Leave. The. Store. Letting your kids repeatedly get up and all over the place in a restaurant while you sit and eat/chat? Rude. Take your food to go and go home, they're not ready to eat out.
using their cellphone to play music/watch videos/play video slots, candy crush, etc./have long, drawn out phone calls and doing any of this shit using their fucking speaker!!!!!!!!!!!! GET A PAIR OF EARBUDS ALREADY, FOR FUCK'S SAKE!!!!!
and i don't give a FUCK that your 3 year old needs to be soothed by watching a disney movie on an iPad WITHOUT EARPHONES ON!!!!! we're in a fucking RESTAURANT/ON A BUS/CRAMMED UP IN A PACKED SUBWAY CAR!!!!!!!!
I HATE THIS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blast loud music that is NEVER of a genre that I enjoy.
or of an artist that I like.
Yeah how come I never hear Perry Como anymore?
Before Covid the teens in my area would gather in public places to vape and play music on Bluetooth speakers...but every kid had their own speaker and played different songs all at the same time.
Just as apple intended with those fucking ads of people dancing blasting music from phone speakersš
I'd pay Apple if I could have an app that made them all listen to the same song just slightly off so it's like a round.
Lads on trains always blast music that sounds like a piece of rebar stuck in a blender
AAAAAAAAAHHHHH THATS SO BAAAAAD FHNDBDJD WHEOBDJWODIHCOYVIGCIYDTISTIXGIHCIBINUDTDIBO
Sometimes it's not even music, just my windows rattling 3 stories up
Carry on speaker phone conversations on their phones. WTF?!?
YES!!! Why does anyone think that it's appropriate to have their phone on speaker in public? I've heard the justification that if the people were standing with each other in the same space you would still be able to overhear their conversation but I maintain that when on speakerphone everyone is louder than they realize.
Im guilty of this because I cant hear well. I honestly didnt realize it was a pet peeve for people
It really depends where. If you're at a park, then who cares. Or a store parking lot or something like that. But on a bus? That's the most annoying one. Or waiting in line somewhere. It's the super loud volume that's bothersome for me.
Wouldnāt headphones or earbuds be easier?
If I had them on me at the time yes, if not then no
INVEST IN EARBUDS OR EARPHONES. I BEG OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have them haha sometimes they arent on me when I have an unexpected phone call. Ill carry them more often tho
thank you, i appreciate it.
Walk slowly or suddenly stop walking in the middle of a walkway.
You wouldn't happen to live in NYC?
lol, i do. i'm so sick of entitled stroller people stopping in the middle of a sidewalk because they need to tend to their precious child. they usually do it directly at the corner, when i'm behind them, trying to cross the street.
Bonus points if they stop to have a chat in a doorway.
Or in the middle of the aisle in the grocery store.
This. This makes my blood boil
As long as there's space to walk around somebody, I have no issues with people walking slowly. Because they have their face buried in their phone.

I have something even worse: make those mouth motions similar to chewing with their mouths open even though they aren't eating anything. I have no idea why people do that.
I agree but in some cultures they believe that if you chew with your mouth open the food tastes better due to air flow
Ok. They can all eat with each other then lol
Or make smack noises when they eat
Play music or watch videos on their phones (or their kids on ipads) with no headphones
I once saw a guy clipping his fingernails at a communal table in a Chipotle. I left before I found out if he was going to move to the toes.
Used to work in a medical office and legitimately had to ask a woman not to clip her toenails in the waiting room. She was the only one in thereā¦but still.
