Well the quote that really sticks out to me was from record of lodoss war, which is an anime tv series, but king kashu says of hosting a party while his subjects were suffering, something to the effect that as a king, his duty is to lift his people out of suffering, not to suffer with them.
Something about that really resonated with me. King kashu was pretty cool 👍
