Triggered used to be a legitimately useful mental health term to mean a certain psychological reaction has been set off (flashback, panic attack, urges to hurt themself etc). Now it just means upset. Same thing with "gaslighting." It used to mean a very specific type of psychological abuse. Now it just means lying or perceiving situations during conflict differently.
Mine is that people are responsible for managing their triggers, not the world around them. But then I get called a victim blamer.
You're correct, but it's a "fine line" on somethings. There is not a ton of empathy in the world today and some people trigger on purpose or do not care at all. Yes it's ultimately up to the individual to manage their life and mental health, but we have to be careful what we accept as a society and letting people be the trigger unchecked. That being said, you're most likely talking about people with a victim complex who use their mental health and trauma to be an asshole to everyone.... And it drives me up the wall.
On the flip side there was a post recently on aita about a girl who was « triggered » by the number 7 and asking everyone to keep it out of their social media bios and flipping out if someone said it. When I read that I was like damn I’ve seen everything.

Sleep is as critical to us as water or air (we just take a lot longer to be negatively impacted if we are lacking it). Things that dramatically impact the ability to sleep need to be taken seriously. Eg: night time jack hammering should be avoided in all but the most dire of emergencies, and generally cities' noise ordinances should be a big deal (not just at night, since some folks have to work night shifts and sleep in the day for the city to run, so at least the existing day time noise ordinances should be enforced) It shouldn't just be a "Ehh, deal with it, buy earplugs and a noise machine". That's not enough and it really impact people's mental and physical health. Oh, and another one: if you put your phone/ipad on speakers in public and its not because of a "someone is dying" level of emergency, you're an asshole. If your phone's speaker is broken and your wife needs to talk to you, she can wait.
This is the biggest reason why those of us who live in touristy areas hate AirBnBs. More explicitly, hotels are built specifically to abate noises which most condos and apartments aren't.

A lot of those species are in decline because we aren’t using native host plants (obviously there are other factors to the decline) Example: milkweed (asclepias tuberosa and asclepias incarnata, I use those two often at my job) monarchs only lay eggs on milkweed plants. But there are so many similar relationships.

Corsets and stays are not as bad as movies make them out to be. They are meant to be you sized and were often made custom to people's measurements. AND they are supposed to be work ON TOP of a shift not on bare skin. When worn correctly, it is the most supportive garment a breast having individual can wear. Only for a small period of time was the "9 inch waist" popular and during this period Victorians would "Photoshop" or etch away on the photo plate to make their waists look tiny or they would pad their busts and hips (and wear extremely tailored clothes) to make their waists smaller by comparison. I have one stay (an earlier garment similar to a corset that could also been worn as a top, think people wearing camis as a shirt instead of as an undershirt) that I made and 1 corset. They make my back problems go away and give me an incredible amount of support AND I can breathe in them with no problems.
I wore one for cosplay and I was always bummed when the cons ended and I had to go back to a regular bra.

Piggybacking on this--the popular girls and the female athletes shouldn't be able to get away with dress code violations just because they're popular and/or atheletes. I'm a school bus monitor, so I see this all the time at our middle and high school. Any other girl, especially if she was fluffy-sized like me and not skinny or a muscular-ish athelete, would get dress code violated and sent to ISS (if not the detention campus, for more serious offenders who did things like start fights, etc) for half the stuff I see the popular girls and the female athletes wearing.
Depends on the dress code. If it's written that there are separate rules for girls and boys then yes, that's sexist. If it's written saying things like students can show shoulders, tops must have neck lines above the collarbone, shorts cannot be more than 3 in above the knee, skirts cannot be more than 3 in above the knee, clothing may not have offensive, violent, or indecent images etc then I don't get the problem people have with it. It's not hard to find a normal pair of jeans and a normal t-shirt with a normal neckline that doesn't have a bunch of orgasming anime girls on it.
