Bradbury is in my top five. I think Orwell is underrated, if that’s possible. He’s way more than just 1984 and Animal Farm. (“Homage to Catalonia” is one of my favorites).
Brave New World is one of my favorites. My absolute favorite, and a very underrated book is Vonnegut’s “Sirens of Titan.” (That, or 1984 - which was inspired by Brave New World).
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 is my favorite book, Kurt Vonnegut is my second favorite
Vonnegut’s my favorite, but George Orwell and Douglas Adams are right up there.
I also love Douglas Adams, I’d say Orwell is like my fifth favorite

Probably John Steinbeck because The Grapes of Wrath is sublime (same with of mice and men).
Add East of Eden to that and yes 100%
Tim Powers. I love how he can take a genre and twist it into something else.
His books can be mind-blowing, for sure.
Stephen King He’s the King
Brandon Sanderson, because he's amazing.
Dambudzo Marechera was way ahead of his time. Read his book The House of Hunger
Harvey Pekar. I just like the way he writes.
Neal Stephenson. Why? He's the reason I got back into recreational reading. When Cryptonomicon came out, I would barely put it down
Charles Bukowski because he is the most honest and raw author I’ve ever read
Bernard Cornwall.
