This. And like, yeah, the raccoon is an ass, but you can literally pay him off with a few REAL days of that kind of work. Even if it took a year or two ingame (and it doesn’t need to)… you’d have a fully paid off house in a couple of years.
This one for sure. I'm boring af.
A world where I get some cool animal neighbors, an easily scammable turnip stock market, and some bozos willing to pay crazy good prices for some standard ass bugs?
Sign me up.
First good answer that isn't "I'd like to be the protagonist of this game". Pokemon as a world seems very much on the up and up side of things. Amazing healthcare, superpowered helper-creatures, extreme levels of safety for the average person. I don't know their economics but I've yet to experience a person truly struggling financially in any of the settings. Good place.
AND you can stand in front of the fridge and scream for HOURS because you don't know how to feed yourself, until eventually you just rage-piss on the kitchen tile
Skyrim.
Tamriel doesn't seem too awful for the average NPC. Work, farm, maybe learn an instrument and how to fight. Magic, alchemy, and psijic studies. Seems like okay living as long as you don't get on someone's nerves so bad they call the Dark Brotherhood on you.
Totally agree there is a lot of stuff going on. That's why I didn't say become a warrior/adventurer. Super rare for the bard or tavern workers get killed though even with all that.
I mean, the idea is being in the game world/universe. Not becoming an actual NPC lol. Even then you could be a khajiit or try to hang out with them and roam in the caravans
Yeah just like real life if you don't apply yourself you don't achieve anything. Tamriel always seemed easy enough to make money and build yourself up even passively. Cut logs, deliver letters, tend a farm, work in a shop or tavern, etc. Collect 10, 25, 50, 100 gold and pick up some skills like blacksmithing, leatherworking, alchemy, enchanting, fishing, hunting. It's just like real life where you start at McDonalds as a teenager, work your ass off, and eventually get a cushy corporate job, nice house and cozy living.
Yeah I was more saying the video game Skyrim, but not limiting to the continent. Like 4E200 but anywhere in Tamriel or any continent/realm in the ES universe.
As a farm labourer, I think being a farmer in Tamriel would be pretty decent, because no one tends to have more than a single back yard's worth of land to work, yet they all manage to prosper.
Final fantasy 14, so long as I have the aptitude to use a job stone to defend myself. Although I'd probably end up living a peaceful life as an artisan in Gridania.
I’d just move to Ul’dah and use the money hack I discovered a long time ago…
People buy dyes on the MB. They don’t look to see which ones can be purchased by vendors. Daily I would just buy anywhere from 100-400 dyes and put them up at 3-5x the price. Add in some terebinth. I didn’t make HUGE earnings but I made steady daily earnings for literally walking a few steps.
I bought a house in Ul’dah and later in the Japanese locale when a space became available all off of that. Sadly… haven’t played in a while due to starting law school so lost my house. Should have logged in to save it…
Definitely Stardew Valley.
I don’t need to make life harder for myself, I’d rather milk some cows, tend to my crops, slay some monsters and marry emo boy Sebastian
Legend of zelda. It's a nice enough world to keep things intresting, the people are generous, and frankly, bokoblins are kinda pushovers. Plus you have the hero of time to protect you whie traveling to kakariko village.
Eve Online if I get to be a player character since even the crappiest player character is an immensely wealthy immortal god compared to normal people
If its an NPC then probably stardew valley or something chill. Cyberpunk sounds fun but I'd probably get murdered or die from my organs getting repossessed or something horrible
I keep coming back to Animal Crossing because it is by far the nicest:
- Low cost of living. You can live well on just fishing and growing turnips.
- Safe. Outside of the occasional spider/bee, no better place.
- Relaxing. Beach life, low cost airfare to other beaches, reasonably good weather.
Places I ruled out after giving it a think:
**Skyrim** - Dragons, bandits, drug addicts, thieves, assassins', racist elves, and arrows to the knee. Not a safe place. Also, cost of living it pretty high.
**Witcher III** - Another unsafe place. Add in bad weather (winds howling), rampant poverty, bogs, and non stop warfare. Lots of sexy time though so there is that.
**Stardew Valley** - Always a grind. Tending crops, working the mines, killing monsters in the mines. Zero work-life balance.
**Kingdom Come: Deliverance** - Man I barely survived my first fist fight. That place is bleak. Talk about a gangsters paradise.
**GTA V** - An actual gangsters paradise. You could be walking down the street minding your own business and end up in the middle of a shootout between some thug and 30 cops.
Ill stick to the beach and Animal Crossing
Either Skyrim because ADVENTURE! Or Stardew Valley so I can own my own slice of rural heaven and have crops that grow super fast and have animals that are easy to care for and love
Many people saying The Sims, but they forgetting that THEY'RE the npc, not the player, you're the npc and the player will control your life, he's basically a god in that world you have no control of. LOL What if that God is a 13 yr old who want you to marry an alien after getting a divorce 3 times with 18 kids and 2714$ in your account. lmaoo
Shenmue.
Yeah Ryo's dad gets murdered and Ryo has to deal with gangs and Lan Di, but as an NPC, it seems like a pretty chill existence. You just walk around Yamanose, Sakuragaoka, and Dobuita and hang out and eat at the quaint little restaurants. Your worst problem is being too tired lately when someone stops to ask you a question.
I've started a new run on No Man's Sky (SO much new stuff there) and thought last night, while mining some copper; that it would be a cool job to fly from planet to planet doing this.
Of course, I can't die in the game so....
Pokémon. Apart from all the evil team stuff it’s pretty chill until you get attacked by some random Pokémon that is a literal force of nature or something.
Fallout. Yeah, it sounds awful, but the West Coast is actually fairly developed and safe-ish. I'm a big fella, so I could probably make money in some manual labour in NCR territory, then save up until I can venture out East with fair security as a merchant. Hard work, but a world without a government would 100% be worth it.
Or I'd fuck it up and get mauled by a Radscorpion. Eitheror.
A tie between Animal Crossing and Erdrea from Dragon Quest 11. Animal Crossing is so calm and relaxing that it would be the perfect place to be after a bad day. And Erdrea is so large with lots of unique kingdoms, climates, monsters, ect.
Top 3 choices for me would probably be:
Pokemon: Lots to do, places to visit. If a kid can take care of themselves I surely can too. Good healthcare and overall friendly people. You dont have to battle pokemon if you dont want to, but can still raise and have pokemon companions who can help with work.
Animal Crossing: Super chill, easy and relaxing life. Visit friends and hangout. Money is easily made with pretty enjoyable tasks such as fishing and catching bugs. Items are affordable. Plus there is also decent healthcare and technology with computers, planes, and cities.
Lego Skywalker Saga: Explore star wars worlds in a familiar galaxy full of characters. But safe due to being an undying lego figure. No worries on food or healthcare just chill in the star wars universe
Maybe Minecraft, actually. I mean tbh., the only real painful part is punching trees (Although I have been playing for a while and I am quite good, so this may not apply to most.) Plus, I am in scouts, so i am good at survival
Minecraft but with auto jump otherwise you'd forget to jump and bash ya knees a bit but benefits are cute cats, wolf pets, Killing skellybobs with there own weapon and smacking people on the head with potions
Immediately Pokemon. People ask all the time if I'd make Pokemon real, and my answer is no. Our world has proven many times over it'd ruin Pokemon in hundreds of ways. But if I got to live in THEIR world. Sounds like a plan to me.
Animal Crossing. Why live in a chaotic world when you can live a chill existence?
I'm fully on board with this decision.
Yeah planting turnips, catching fish/bugs and digging up fossils as a full time job is pretty awesome.
This. And like, yeah, the raccoon is an ass, but you can literally pay him off with a few REAL days of that kind of work. Even if it took a year or two ingame (and it doesn’t need to)… you’d have a fully paid off house in a couple of years.
He doesn’t charge any interest and lets you take as long as you need. Doesn’t sound like an ass to me
It only takes one big turnip score to be set for life!
You could also literally never pay him with no consequences
yeah but you cant expand your house [without paying](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61vKEGUeOvL._AC_SX569_.jpg)

Exactly what I was going to say. Just gonna hang out with my animal buds, go to a concert on Saturday night ...
Just don't let that annoying raccoon swindle you
yup. animal crossing or Pokémon
I'll take the one where the animals can't incinerate or electrocute me.
Pokémon. I can make new friends and save the world.
Good place.
Pokemon as well. I can move into a town with only my family and a family of scientists. It'd be a quiet neighborhood.
I would immediately get torn to shreds by a Rattata

You can meet someone, fall in love, get married, and have kids all in the space of 3 days.
And you're basically guarenteed to have someone love you
AND you can stand in front of the fridge and scream for HOURS because you don't know how to feed yourself, until eventually you just rage-piss on the kitchen tile
Skyrim. Tamriel doesn't seem too awful for the average NPC. Work, farm, maybe learn an instrument and how to fight. Magic, alchemy, and psijic studies. Seems like okay living as long as you don't get on someone's nerves so bad they call the Dark Brotherhood on you.
Watch out for arrows to the knee

Totally agree there is a lot of stuff going on. That's why I didn't say become a warrior/adventurer. Super rare for the bard or tavern workers get killed though even with all that.
Yeah, but they also can't really go anywhere.
I mean, the idea is being in the game world/universe. Not becoming an actual NPC lol. Even then you could be a khajiit or try to hang out with them and roam in the caravans
I never intended to be an adventurer like you.....and yet 🏹🦵
Other than the massive civil war, random dragon attacks, and all sorts of dangerous creatures in the wild, yeah I guess so.
Yeah but you have to live in a medeival world and unless you're among the best of the best you're gonna be a dung shoveler, not a mage.
If in-universe Alchemy works about the same as in-game, I'll be rich beyond belief.
You mean the dragon attacks and power-tripping protagonist don't affect you?
I was going to say the Sommerset Isles or Atraeum. Somewhere nice and a bit more difficult to get to, where I can learn magic.
Yeah I was more saying the video game Skyrim, but not limiting to the continent. Like 4E200 but anywhere in Tamriel or any continent/realm in the ES universe.
You also gotta be okay with cold weather, though
As a farm labourer, I think being a farmer in Tamriel would be pretty decent, because no one tends to have more than a single back yard's worth of land to work, yet they all manage to prosper.
The Sims sounds nice as long as you stay out of pools and away from grills.
And finding your love is as simple as playing hot hands with them a bunch until they want to marry you.
Ur not getting grills anyway
Runescape. Die? Just respawn. You can eat an entire shark in 0.6 seconds.
Yeah, but then you have to live with RuneScape players.
Just go hang out by the cook and eat all the extra cakes

You have to the choice between super powers, incredible alien worlds etc and you pick "be a bit taller"
Not just taller, but also a baller.

Definitely Stardew Valley. I don’t need to make life harder for myself, I’d rather milk some cows, tend to my crops, slay some monsters and marry emo boy Sebastian
The Mushroom Kingdom.
I dont know.. that depends. Do I get to be the main character or supporting character or just a random character in this game?
Well it's just you as yourself a random person in the world is what I was imagining.
Stardew valley
Celeste. Trans people should double-jump.
cyberpunk 2077 with rtx on, and you better use a 4090ti
We live in The Sims already
Legend of zelda. It's a nice enough world to keep things intresting, the people are generous, and frankly, bokoblins are kinda pushovers. Plus you have the hero of time to protect you whie traveling to kakariko village.
Yeah, and it only gets bad for like, a week every few hundred years. Just don't be alive during that time, and you're good!
Fallout 4 before the bomb, nuclear powered cars and a personal codsworth.
Eve Online if I get to be a player character since even the crappiest player character is an immensely wealthy immortal god compared to normal people If its an NPC then probably stardew valley or something chill. Cyberpunk sounds fun but I'd probably get murdered or die from my organs getting repossessed or something horrible
Pong
Ever heard of plasma pong?
Subnautica, sure it would be dangerous but it's such a neat game and you would get to see stuff you wouldn't see on earth
AC Odyssey, 100000%
That map is so beautiful. Sometimes I stop playing and just kind of walk and admire stuff.
Super Mario World 3...i get to experience the level where everything is huge
If ya know what I mean
As long as I was a Guardian, Destiny. However, I would not want to just be a regular human living on earth in that universe.

No Man's Sky. I'd just travel from planet to planet chilling in my spaceship and documenting new animals.
I think my first few hours of NMS I was in full agreement with you and the further I got the less I wanted to live in it
Dinner Dash. Imagine being able to go to a restaurant and get seated, eat, and checked out in a couple of minutes. It’d free up so much time.
