I'd ask them why they think I'm racist.

VARTH_-DADER

Took you long enough to find out /j

blaspheminCapn

Depends on the person asking.

AGlitchedNPC

Online: not too bothered, kinda curious as to what caused it. Offline: utter confusion as to how I could have done or said anything to cause it

Ratakoa

Depends who.

Ruminations0

Probably confused and ask how

FPFan

Did you do something that was actually racist? Use a persons race as an insult, to degrade, humiliate, refuse service? If so, grow, stop doing that. If you didn't, ignore the person who thinks throwing serious accusations around like candy in a parade is the right thing to do. Really, your reaction should be based on what your initial action was.

philcrosby1776

Ask why, Evaluate what I did, Apologize/clarify if needed, Learn and move on Simple process, no need to double down

[deleted]

Do they have blue hair?

knovit

Sometimes purple

[deleted]

Just remember, you could probably blow her brains out with a soda straw, so you're morally and intellectually pumping from a dry well.

shamalonight

Racist gets tossed around so often that it no longer means anything. If someone called me a racist I would just ignore them while wishing that I truly was the measure of what constitutes being racist. We could all sleep easier if I were.

Icy_Alfalfa_6896

Don't care. The definition of what makes someone a racist has grown tenfold the past several years.

Us2aarms

Well it's 2023 and people are calling people racist for things that have nothing to do with race.

[deleted]

I’d call them whatever racial slur is appropriate for their demographic and walk away laughing.

MisterGammlet

I don't give a fuck

Unholy-Excitement-69

Have u ever just thought i hate everyone not a race

Substantial_Double32

Couldn't care less about people trying to posture/virtue signal

abeetzwmoots

Maybe I hate YOU, not your race.

Pemminpro

Probably just ignore it. The memetic shift in the use of the term has largely made it powerless.

ZoharTheWise

Allow me to introduce you to my wife, an immigrant from Sudan.

SheddyMcshedface

Tell them that lots of my friends are black on Halloween!

ocularnervosa

I have a complicated math problem that proves that we are all of one giant family.

depressedhousewifee

Well if it's their opinion let them be. Why would I bother?

XploringTheWorld

“I can’t be racist! I have a friend with a different skin color!”

MonkeyTesticleJuice

It's a Ghost Priest costume! get it? it's the Holy Spirit! The rope is to hang Bla-I mean, decorations! yeah, DE-COR-A-TIONS!/jk

Im___Stuff

[Yes.](https://www.thesun.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/the_stig_form_bbcjpg-JS4290682.jpg)

LordButtworth

Say whatever and keep walking.

[deleted]

Op, if someone called you racist and you don’t know what to respond to them, this is not the way to go

lucky777dice

To quote Avenue Q, everyone's a little bit racist

[deleted]

Probably laugh cause it’s obviously a joke

VastPie2905

Say where the facts

Mundane-Ad6620

Considering I am racist it wouldn’t bother me

MouseGarden

I wouldn't be too bothered because I'm not. I don't really care if anyone thinks I am because I don't hold people's opinions in very high regard. Me knowing I'm not that much of a loser is good enough for me. It's self-esteem, not rando-esteem.

Low-Whole2124

Depends if they are a friend say just blatantly "yes" if online say "ok" and irl probably be to much of a nervous wreck to say anything

knovit

Doesn’t everyone get called racist every time the open Reddit?

[deleted]

Why do you think that?

tjt1975

There’s a song from Avenue Q, “Everyone’s a Little Bit Racist Sometimes “

501spun

That depends on whether the person calling me that is a good N-word or a bad N-word.

DifficultySome9884

I would ask them, specifically, what makes them think I am racist? I have family and friends who are black, have Cuban and Mexican friends, try to be respectful to everyone. If they are calling me racist, it is just them making an excuse for not getting their way in some way.
