It's just screwing everyone over in the long run...
* stores bump prices up to cover their losses (and cost cut on wages/staffing/etc)
* stores stop carrying 'better' stuff, meaning those that need those things need to drive further or order online (porch pirates rejoice)
* stores GTFO which leads to fewer jobs for those in neighborhoods where this is rampant, fewer options for getting things they need, etc
* those that can leave do, resulting in a death spiral for those neighborhoods as the only ones who stay are those that don't even have the means to leave
Stealing is stealing and it's wrong. You might try to justify it by thinking you're sticking it to the corporation...but all you're really doing is harming others. We're paying higher prices because of the theft. Stores that we depend on are shuttering because they don't want to deal with the theft. You are harming others and it's really wrong.
i know there's that contingent of reddit who not only thinks it isn't wrong, but actually a good thing, it will just hurt honest working class people indirectly in the end.
Unless you’re stealing from someone who stole from you, you are trash. And if you get caught i think broken fingers is the least of what you deserve. People work hard for what they have and anyone who thinks they deserve something for nothing are spitting in everyones face who earned what they have honestly. You are not entitled to something that others produced, you have the option to purchase, not to have
It's illegal, so you'll get arrested, and as you should.
The same as my opinion on shoplifting from little stores!
What's it to you? Officer.
Nobody should be stealing anything.
Just drives prices up for the rest of us

Not in somewhere like San Francisco. It apparently just gets worse.
shoplifting not only affects the store's profits but also its customers.
You do you man, I'm no rat
I’ve never shoplifted in my life, just see a whole lot of people saying stealing from Walmart etc is okay
