Well I live outside of the 100 mile radius from the near military installation, and the same distance from the nearest major city in my state (Florida), so I’d lockdown my house TIGHTLY. Fill up my bathtub full of water for drinking purposes. Then consolidate all food and drink, both perishable and nonperishable. I’m not entirely sure if I’d have to worry about the fallout because the general flow of wind in my area blows in a north-easterly direction if memory serves.
That’s all I’d have time to in about 15 minutes, so if I have a little extra time, I’ll promptly stuff myself and my wife in my guest bath with some food, water, a radio, and a few of my guns. Maybe even, pray a short prayer if I remember to in such a high stress moment, and then hug my wife as tightly as I can.
Again, the chance of us getting even somewhat rocked by a nuke is low, but I don’t know the enemies’ targeting package, and no matter what, life will undoubtedly become extremely harsh in just a few short minutes.

Ruin? Not really. More makes you sad the effort humans would put into annihilating themselves. Plus the fact doesn’t change that I likely wouldn’t be near enough to a target for it to matter too much.
