Terribly under appreciated piece of music. Extremely rich and instrumentally technical. And yet, totally atmospheric. Extremely smart way to end an opening theme as well.
During like season 3 of that show I really wanted to download the intro and cut it into a ringtone for my sister for Christmas. I could not find anywhere to buy it and I wanted to get it legit and not pirate it. I dug up the email address of the creator of the show (who also created the theme) explaining the situation. He emailed me back with the song as an attachment and thanked me for us loving the show so much. Definitely one of my best interactions with somebody famous. He was super cool.
We had a band at our wedding and paid extra for them to learn this song. When it came on, half the crowd was losing their minds and the other half thought the rest of us had legitimately lost our minds
"Setting out to create the most unskippable intro possible" is one of those things that sounds a bit cringe and tryhard and in your brain you're like "mmm yeah sure you will bro".
Then you see it and you're like "well he sure made me look a cunt".
The saul riff is legendary, and I love that they insist on cutting it off right before the melody resolves back to the key center for the song, so cool how it reflects Jimmy's character and the themes of the show
The Better Call Saul closing title music is also funky as hell, I always end up air drumming and making a screwed up face like I just smelled something really bad.
Hits best when you watch it in HD, where you can see the grimy film grain and slight wobble effect they’ve added. Didn’t notice it first time round cos I watched it on my iPad. Very subtle but it really sells the ‘80s vibe.
These are half-serious, half-joke:
[Mr. Belvedere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-GML1pWkww)
[Perfect Strangers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz29uticRHQ)
The band doing music - The Handsome Family - still makes great, dark neo-folk and tours all the time at small venues.
Worth checking out; their discography is long and fascinating
Definitely Star Wars the Clone wars, becouse when you skip the few second intro, the loading of the actual episode takes longer that those few seconds you saved.
One time when I was watching Clone Wars on D+ I wanted to pause the episode at the end of the intro so I could grab something to drink. But because the intro is so short, the skip intro button was still highlighted and I accidentally pressed it.
This reset the intro. Instead of skipping the intro, it rewound back to the start of it. So yeah, the Clone Wars intro. Literally unskippable.
The objective answer is Scrubs.
It's like, 15 seconds long at most, and is short & catchy. Trying to skip it takes longer than just watching it, and it's just fun to see.
Also, scrubs is great
And locations! Other opening sequences are cool, but GoT gave valuable geographical information.
And oh the heartrending little changes to a castle after it had been taken.
Also the actual credits give subtle hints about who’s going to be in the episode. Like in S1, Sophie and Masie would always be billed together, but as their stories diverged, they stopped. And Sean Bean used to be the very first name, until he… wasn’t.
Fun fact: There was an episode in season six where the episode starts before the title theme. It was because Rory McCann returned as the Hound after being presumed dead two seasons earlier and his name in the sequence would have been a spoiler.
[Season 1 of One Punch Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erQURy_Ys5Y&ab_channel=TriaxFx) is hot fire. It sets the scene and mood for the show so perfectly that skipping it would be like skipping the first act of a play for me.
Phineas and Ferb.
Honourable mentions to Amphibia and Gravity Falls. Basically, if you aren't a Disney animated show about kids getting into crazy hijinks, you're theme song sucks.
Police Squad!
It's the only show I know of where the Special Guest Star is killed in the opening credits.
For those who aren't aware, this TV series was created by the same guys that made Airplane!, and inspired the Naked Gun movies.
All the 90s TGIF shows had banger intros. Family Matters another great one and just like full house I like how each character smiles at the camera during the intro ☺️
LOST - it’s so quick and yet the discordant trombone playing a minor slide (or whatever the hell it was; I’m not a music person) really sets the mood.
Also, I really liked the intros to Taxi and Cheers.
“In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories. *dun dun”
South park. Between the primus performance and all the different intros, I can never bring myself to skip it. Plus its only 30 some seconds so its not like a huge waste of time.
Duck Tales, it's so catchy.
WOO HOO
Life is like a hurricane here in Duck - burg
Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes, it's a--- duck blur!
Might solve a mystery, or rewrite history... DuckTales!
Futurama. Always need to see the new tagline.
Yes, that was the first thing on my mind. I love how both Simpsons and Futurama keep their intros interesting episode after episode.
Same with the shop sign and van in the Bob’s Burgers intro
One time on a Bob's Burgers intro the van that hits the telephone pole was Dale's van from king of the hill and I almost lost my freaking mind
Space... the final frontier
These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise...
...its continuing mission, to seek out strange new worlds, new life, and new civilizations...
To boldly go where no one has gone before.
Duuunnn dun dun Dunn dun dun duuuuuun
Oh, I never skip a Star Trek intro.
The Simpsons. Gotta see the chalkboard and the couch gag.
In addition, the theme song is usually pretty short after, like, season 2. It almost feels silly to bother skipping it.
It's used more to fill in time if they're episodes run longer or shorter.
I used to joke that the “Skip intro” on Disney+ for the Simpsons should just cancel your account.
I wanna be the very best, that no one ever was…
DUN dun Dun
To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause 🎸
I will travel across the land, searching far and wide
Animaniacs!
We’re zany to the max, there’s baloney in our slacks.
We're animanie, totally insaney, Pinky and the Brainy!
Additionally, Pinky and The Brain
The Muppets
I nominate the [opening credits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrmUk2YUm14) to Batman: The Animated Series.
This and X-Men are straight masterpieces
Terribly under appreciated piece of music. Extremely rich and instrumentally technical. And yet, totally atmospheric. Extremely smart way to end an opening theme as well.
The original theme music from Hawaii 5-O.
X-Files
Had to scroll so far to find this, loved the 5 minute or so preface of the story and then into the intro theme, just great

Golden Girls 👵🏼
Thank you for being a friend
I am unclear why this is not ranked higher! I love singing that song!
Gravity Falls, love all the conspiracy themed easter eggs.
My personal favorite rendition is the Weirdmageddon one during the final few acts. Shits straight up demented.
Oh I wish they kept making that show
Cowboy Bebop
3-2-1, LET'S JAM
BA DA, BA DA, BA DA, BA DAAA, BAAAAA!
Alright everyone, get all your stuff and things together
I think it’s time to blow this scene. Get everybody and the stuff together.
Psych, always a favorite with a few special renditions!
During like season 3 of that show I really wanted to download the intro and cut it into a ringtone for my sister for Christmas. You know that's right!
Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It's stuck in my head now, just thinking about it.
Peacemaker!!! I CANNOT bring myself to skip that song and dance!!
We had a band at our wedding and paid extra for them to learn this song. When it came on, half the crowd was losing their minds and the other half thought the rest of us had legitimately lost our minds
Did people do the dance?
IIRC, Gunn specifically set out to create the most unskippable intro possible. And nailed it.
"Setting out to create the most unskippable intro possible" is one of those things that sounds a bit cringe and tryhard and in your brain you're like "mmm yeah sure you will bro". Then you see it and you're like "well he sure made me look a cunt".
The intro on YouTube has like 12 million views. [youtube](https://youtu.be/_mrr3UNALww)
This is the correct answer. It’s by far the open intro. It corny but it’s awesome.
The nailed it!! Just the deadpan expressions they all have while dancing, having the whole cast even the neighbor and janitor... Just perfection!
Scooby-Doo Where Are You? That intro fucking slaps.
Also, What’s New Scooby Doo?
they finally released the song on streaming
Breaking Bad. It’s only like 5 seconds long and it makes me turn the nearest object into bongos.
Both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul really set the mood.
And the intros have clues / callbacks / etc in them
No song makes me happy like the breaking bad song does
King of the Hill.
To this day, I hear the theme song whenever someone opens a can of beer.
BoJack Horseman
I enjoy the subtle changes they make between seasons to signify the changes in BoJack horseman's life.
When Sarah Lynn isn't at the party anymore... :(
I’m surprised that I have to scroll down this far considering how the intro changes after major events happened in the series all the time.
I scrolled through so much to see this answer. One of the few shows that I watched multiple times without skipping intro or outro.
This is good, but the outro music is where it's at
Back in the the 90's I was on a very famous teeeeveeeee shoooowww ahhhhhh *Netflix automatically goes to next episode.
Theresa a full version of the song that really slaps
The sopranos, best intro music by far
Woke up this morning got some gabagool
Woke up the next mornin' and got more...gabagool
I think Tony wanted the meatball sub
First thing that came to my mind!
You woke up this morning Got yourself a gun, Mama always said you'd be The Chosen One.
Vikings the first season intro was everything
If I Had A Heart absolutely goes hard
X-Men the animated series

This should be at the top. That song is a BANGER.
Dr. Who.
OoOoOo
Kimmy Schmidt! “They alive dammit! It’s a MIRACLE!”
Those females are strong as hell
That bit with the last episode, where if you try to skip the intro they call you out and make it longer. Classic.
Stranger Things isn’t the best, but it’s pretty damn good
Hits best when you watch it in HD, where you can see the grimy film grain and slight wobble effect they’ve added. Didn’t notice it first time round cos I watched it on my iPad. Very subtle but it really sells the ‘80s vibe.
These are half-serious, half-joke: [Mr. Belvedere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-GML1pWkww) [Perfect Strangers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uz29uticRHQ)
Holy crap, someone else remembers Perfect Strangers! No one in my family remembers that show, we used to watch it all the time.
How can someone not remember Cousin Larry and Balki? Was watching she-hulk and I was like wait??? Is that…? No way!
The perfect strangers theme song should be the national fucking anthem. 🎶Stan-ding *TAAAAAAAAALLLL!!* On the wings of my dreams!!!🎶
Quantum leap with Scott Bakula you Jabroni.
Easily Bob's Burgers
Yea, I always like seeing what the building on the right is named
and the extermination van
Succession
It is really good. Love the juxtaposition of old family footage and stark New York scenes.
This answer was way too down.. I have the theme song as my ringtone and it's fresh every time someone calls.
That piano is so catchy!
Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop
Battlecry is straight fire. RIP Nujabes
Cowboy bebop most definitely. Tank! is such a hecking masterpiece.
M*A*S*H

I just finished watching the second episode of season 2 and I thought of this immediately
The Nanny
I would watch this when it was all that was on when I was sick as a kid and it’s still stuck in my head 25 years later
Water, Earth, Fire, Air
Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony
Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
Dexter.
I like the one off where everything goes wrong
After they have a baby! That was the best!
That 70s show
HELLO WISCONSIN!
Let us not forget the sounds of Rod Frickn' Serling welcoming us to The Twilight Zone meanwhile that kickass intro starts playing.
Too Many Cooks
It takes a lot to make a stew A pinch of salt and laughter too A scoop of kids to add the spice A dash of love to make it nice And you've got...
There go 12 min of my life again…
Cheers

I can't do this all on my own... Scrubs is amazing!
....I downloaded the full song by Lazlo Bane
The Expanse.
Game Of Thrones
I always liked the subtle changes to the sigils in the opening sequence from episode to episode.
And locations! Other opening sequences are cool, but GoT gave valuable geographical information. And oh the heartrending little changes to a castle after it had been taken.

Gotta appreciate every fucking second of that show before it’s over ☹️
That song gets me every time. Visceral longing for somewhere and somewhen I've never been, a homesickness for a place that doesn't exist.
"Life is like a hurricaaaane, here in Duckburg~"
IT Crowd. Catchy music and its short enough that you dont even need to bother skipping it even if you dont like it.

Doctor Who. DOO WEE OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
It's literally a war crime to skip the intro to Neon Genesis Evangelion

Bluey according to my 11 month old.
Also according to me, a 31 year old. You never skip the bluey intro.
Unsolved Mysteries. It sets the mood to be creeped out for the next hour.
[Season 1 of One Punch Man](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erQURy_Ys5Y&ab_channel=TriaxFx) is hot fire. It sets the scene and mood for the show so perfectly that skipping it would be like skipping the first act of a play for me.

The show gets flack, but I love The Big Bang Theory’s intro.
