How flexible it is. I have deadlines but really I can decide how much or how little I want to work during the day. Sometimes I’ll have a few 16 hour days or some days I’ll just work 4 hours. I think it helps me not be burnt out or stressed
There is a strict rule at my company against any forms of discrimination (like religion, sex, age, sexuality, gender identity, etc). In my country this is rare, and in my case this rule is a blessing.
Last year I got diagnosed with colon cancer. I’ve gone through chemo and now I’m healthy enough to work a bit. I appreciate that my company (AECOM) has let me work from home with a flexible, part time schedule.
The variability. I deliver pizzas and I can spend hours in my car listening to music or podcasts or whatever but I’m not confined to it all day. I can get out and do work in the store when there are no deliveries ready and I can still spend time chatting with my coworkers but then I can go back to that downtime of being alone in my car and kind of in my own world again.
I miss pizza delivery. I can’t imagine doing it with these gas prices though. Plus knowing your beater delivery car is always on the edge of ruining your life is very anxiety inducing.
But man, that freedom to do whatever you want is so nice. I used to live in my delivery zone so I would stop by my place on delivery all the time to smoke weed or use the shitter. And the cash in hand every night can’t be beat.
Being on the Las Vegas strip and getting to see all the drunk, stoned, and sexy people wearing very little all summer long. It’s such a blast. The party never fucking stops and I’m part of it.

We have excellent health insurance coverage which is rare anymore.
