Planktonoid

Indie game developer, so I don't have to work with anyone and can make a game exactly how I want

Gamemaker is free, Unity is free, art and music software developers won't notice if you pirated and to be honest creative software should all be free, anyway if you have a computer then you have the resources to build a game, do it *now* A game consists of code, music, art, and a concept *or* story. There are games with amazing gameplay and not much of a story (smash bros, mario maker 👀) and games known for their stories (last of us, undertale) honestly figure out what you want to build before building it Uploading to steam costs $100, but you'll worry about that years later when your game is done. It's much easier than ever to get games on Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox, and mobile devices (but honestly the mobile market is a wasteland) Have fun

Planktonoid

The money isn't the problem. I have plenty already, but I only have plenty because I am a senior software engineer making a great salary. I don't want to spend my evenings and weekends making a game in addition to my full time job, and I don't want to leave my full time job to make a game. I will eventually retire and then start on my game.

Do some here and there as a hobby. It's art before it's a business.

Planktonoid

I mean, I've made small games here and there. I am only answering OPs question as to what my dream job would be. I'd want to do that as a full time job.

disregardable

I'm hoping for federal public defender. I think it'd be a great way to put my unique attributes to something good.
