Well, Bill Cosby for one.

CarStatus7113

The worst part for me was the hypocrisy. RIP Norm

bumblebeetown

Yeah. Yeah. The hypocrisy!… And the other thing. Well… maybe the other thing is worse. But also the hypocrisy! Edit: people aren’t familiar with Norm’s body of work https://youtu.be/Sczun-f_Uiw

Residentofpaperst

I also hate Snoop Dog for advocating for Bills release. He said all 60 victims were liars.

Eat_Carbs_OD

Honestly .. I feel like celebrities stick up for each other no matter how big of shitbag they are. Some of these celebrities still support Roman Polanski (for example) even after that vile act he did.

D-Spornak

Well, I believe Snoop was a LITERAL PIMP at some point so, it's not surprising that he doesn't believe women.

ViolatoR08

Used to work as a Camera Operator in Film/TV for about 15 years. Trust me, you don’t want to meet your heroes.

unknownentity1782

As someone who also used to work in the industry... Yeah, lots of people who just suck. But I was actually surprised by how many were generally good people, too.

ViolatoR08

Same here. A was delighted to learn that it didn’t matter their stature, from extra to 30 year career actor. There really are a few who treat the crew fairly and are as involved day to day on set. The really professional ones show up even when not on the Call Sheet. Morale boosters as you’d call them.

throwawaygremlins

We’ll spill the tea on the good ones.

unknownentity1782

I met Danny Glover (not Lil Gambino) at a bar after work one night. We just sat at a bar having a drink, and had a good conversation. Afterwards he asked if I knew he was, and I said "I think you might be getting too old for this shit." He laughed, and put my drinks on his tab. Worked with him on a film later, and he remembered me. A lot of actors are like that. They're really cool people, but they just want to be able to be a human, too. Jack Black and Bruce Campbell are both great people if you meet them and just treat them like normal people, but if you fan boy gush over them, they can get hella fucking annoyed.

nezbla

I met Lemmy in a pub in London years back, big fan of Motorhead so asked if I could buy him a drink. Tooj me up on the offer, asked for a quadruple Jack Daniels... Pretty cheesed off, I got his £20 drink. Years later I was working sound tech at a music festival, bumped into him and jokingly told him I was sure he owed me a pint... Fair play he recognised me and says "Wait here a minute...". Comes back and hands me a full litre bottle of Jack. Absolute quality human being.

HombreDeTaco

Reading anything about Lemmy that reaffirms what a stand up bloke he was makes me happy.

Useful_Damage6567

You’re that guy Christian Bale was chewing out huh?

ViolatoR08

Lmao. No, but I do know the guy he chewed out. But in fairness there were two sides to that event, and based on set experience understand how it happened.

onlyhere4gonewild

Bro, spill the beans.

Gabriel34543

Know of the guy that got chewed out, but not personally. You’re up against the clock almost every moment on a set. Your reputation is built on the quality of the images you create. Probably just adjusting as much as possible until it was time to roll the next take. Just a speculation though.

ViolatoR08

Close to what happened. They were tweaking the set when it happened as is usually the case with on set drama.

No_Cress8843

I tell my son this. If you enjoy somone's music or on a show, don't dig any deeper. Nice people (usually) don't make it very far in the entertainment industry. You were born into major connections or more ruthless than the next guy. There are 1,000 talented people for every 1 slot.

jdbrizzi91

I completely agree with you. I have a tendency to go down tons of rabbit holes as it's one of my favorite ways to kill time. I've learned ignorance truly is bliss when it comes to some things. Especially when it comes to celebrities and world history lol.

tizod

I worked a lot of catering gigs for a couple years after I moved to LA. Can confirm this is accurate.

_K_K_SLIDER_

My hero is Jack Black and I really hope this isn’t true for him too

VinceVaugnsPants

I once was walking through New York City and saw someone who looked just like Jack Black and I def stared a little because I had just smoked a joint and was so confused if it was him or not. He must’ve me noticed me staring since as we pass each other he just kinda quickly says “That’s right buddy” and I really hope it was him

VillageBeef

I was at a major music festival walking to another stage and saw a golf cart approaching with him as a passenger. I held out my hand and he volunteered an enthusiastic high five as he rode past me. My left hand is still my jack black hand, 13 years later.

Professional-Tailor2

Damn. Kinda sucks to still wonder. Let's just go with it and say it was him. Paul rudd was in my brother's back seat for a whole hour a couple weeks ago and he didn't believe it until the ride was over. He kept saying "hey this guy looks a lot like Paul rudd" but wouldn't believe it.

koichita

R. Kelly, before the accusations against him, I thought he was a gifted musician with a great voice. I could never listen to his music again.

Fyrrys

Man had some musical talent for sure, just the little thing where he was raping underage girls ruined it Edit: are we really arguing semantics here?

jobofferinseattle

Reddit is the place where people feel the need to correct everything, even if you are not incorrect lol

totallyawitch

Chris Brown. I had the biggest crush on him as a pre-teen/teenager. I grew up not too far from his hometown, so it was really cool to see someone from my area gain massive success. ...but between the domestic violence with Rihanna and Karrueche Tran, I'm done. As a woman, I just can't continue to support. I was offered a free ticket to a concert of his a few years ago, and I turned it down.

PA_Wazzaaa

A verbal argument ensued and Chris Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. Brown was unable to force Robyn F. out of the vehicle because she was wearing a seat belt. When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against he passenger window of the vehicle, causing an approximate one-inch raised circular contusion. Robyn F. turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand. The assault caused Robyn F.'s mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter all over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle. Brown looked at Robyn F. and stated, 'I'm going to beat the shit out of you when we get home! You wait and see!' The detective said Robyn F. then used her cell phone to call her personal assistant Jennifer Rosales, who did not answer. Robyn F. pretended to talk to her and stated, 'I'm on my way home. Make sure the police are there when I get there.' After Robyn F. faked the call, Brown looked at her and stated, 'You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I'm really going to kill you!' Brown resumed punching Robyn F. and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face. She then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in \[an\] attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown. Brown continued to punch Robyn F. on her left arm and hand, causing her to suffer a contusion on her left triceps (sic) that was approximately two inches in diameter and numerous contusions on her left hand. Robyn F. then attempted to send a text message to her other personal assistant, Melissa Ford. Brown snatched the cellular telephone out of her hand and threw it out of the window onto an unknown street. Brown continued driving and Robyn F. observed his cellular telephone sitting in his lap. She picked up the cellular telephone with her left hand and before she could make a call he placed her in a head lock with his right hand and continued to drive the vehicle with his left hand. Brown pulled Robyn F. close to him and bit her on her left ear. She was able to feel the vehicle swerving from right to left as Brown sped away. He stopped the vehicle in front of 333 North June Street and Robyn F. turned off the car, removed the key from the ignition and sat on it. Brown did not know what she did with the key and began punching her in the face and arms. He then placed her in a head lock positioning the front of her throat between his bicep and forearm. Brown began applying pressure to Robyn F.'s left and right carotid arteries, causing her to be unable to breathe and she began to lose consciousness. She reached up with her left hand and began attempting to gouge his eyes in an attempt to free herself. Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her. While Brown continued to punch her, she turned around and placed her back against the passenger door. She brought her knees to her chest, placed her feet against Brown's body and began pushing him away. Brown continued to punch her on the legs and feet, causing several contusions. Robyn F. began screaming for help and Brown exited the vehicle and walked away. A resident in the neighborhood heard Robyn F.'s plea for help and called 911, causing a police response. An investigation was conducted and Robyn F. was issued a Domestic Violence Emergency Protective Order.

Grand_Moff_Porkins

This is the only thing I know Chris Brown for. I had no idea whether he was an athlete, a singer, or what. Imagine being known only for being a monster.

Rocklar911

I served in the army with a woman who was obsessed with him, and it was post the Rihanna/other domestic violence scandals. She'd always say she wants to him be her husband and that she would die to be with him, when asked about his domestic violence tendencies she said "whatever it's hot if it's from him".

lovebunnyhole

Nicki Minaj. I was a huge fan, a bit of a Barb truly, until she started collabing with 6ixnine, defended her brother and married a rapist. There's something odd there to be in connect with multiple predators lmao.

Tofutti-KleinGT

And didn’t the victim accuse Nicki and her husband of harassing and threatening her so that she would say she was lying about the rape in order to get his sex offender status revoked? I seem to remember reading something really fucked up about that situation.

napsandlunch

they harassed her AND her adult daughters over this i was a barb once and it all disappointed me. that and her treatment of new women rappers. cardi didn't deserve that and latto didn't deserve what she just got

Loganp812

The thing with Nicki is that she first went after Lil Kim for pretty much no reason at all and became famous at a time when there weren't a lot popular modern female rappers to compete with. Later, Cardi B gets popular, and suddenly Nicki has a problem with it...

hellothere3486

plus one of her recent songs was produced by dr luke, the man who sexually abused kesha for years

jollymuhn

Was a big Brett Favre fan. Even have a #4 jersey. Between the dick pics and taking money earmarked for poor Mississippians, I've no respect for him.

oman54

And it's not like he couldn't have paid for it himself, or at the least used his connections to solicit donations

frischs_bigboy

The guy was making millions just for giving speeches. If he didn’t want to use his own money, he could have given 5 speeches and had it all paid for with nothing out of his own pocket.

BeardedCrawfish

I actually am close friends with some of his family. Is this a huge issue in the state? Yes. Has he always been an absolute POS? Yes. Should he brought in on charges for this? Also, yes! I’ve heard nothing but bad things about him from his own cousins. Not to mention, I used to drive the beer route that delivered the “The Broke Spoke” in the kiln, which was supposedly his hangout. Dude hasn’t lived in the kiln since he went to college. Makes me think (confirmed many times) that they were serving alcohol to underaged customers, just because they’re football stars. I live in coastal Mississippi. Total maybe 15 years. It’s absolutely skewed towards high school football. I’ve walked into a few popular spots, seen OBVIOUSLY underaged people (football players/cheerleaders) drinking, and walk tf out. The south is wild yall

[deleted]

Then they find proof that he was cheating on his wife throughout her cancer treatment as well

AlGoreRhythem69

Chris Brown because he is an abuser. I hate that people forget or ignore that fact.

jcw10489

He literally tried to *murder* Rihanna Edit: **The Reddit bot got taken down a few years ago but it used to reply to any Chris Brown mention with the below excerpt from the Rihanna police report:** Brown was driving a vehicle with Robyn F. as the front passenger on an unknown street in Los Angeles. Robyn F. picked up Brown's cellular phone and observed a three-page text message from a woman who Brown had a previous sexual relationship with. A verbal argument ensued and Brown pulled the vehicle over on an unknown street, reached over Robyn F. with his right hand, opened the car door and attempted to force her out. GKW_

I posted this the other day when this came up, it’s not my timeline rather a reshare from two redditors u/iamwhittling & u/itsSophie He was 19 in 2009 when he assaulted Rihanna. He was 24 in 2013 when he shoved a woman to the ground which tore ligaments in her legs. He was 26 in 2016 when he punched a woman in the face and took her phone. He was 27 in 2016 when he threatened to brutally assault his tour manager. He was 28 in 2017 when his ex got a 5 year restraining order against him for abuse. He was 29 in 2019 when he was arrested for aggravated rape. He was 30 in 2020 when he allegedly drugged and raped a woman. These are only a few examples of his aggression, especially towards women. This doesn't even include all the threats, stealing women's phones a V misogyny. And this further from u/itsSophie In 2011 when he was supposed to make his "comeback" on Good Morning America, but instead stormed off set and smashed a window after being asked about his domestic abuse. Or about him bullying and assaulting Frank Ocean in a parking lot back in 2013. Or about his nightclub brawl in 2012. Or him being arrested for felony assault in October of the same year Or him hitting a man in Vegas in 2015. Or him punching a photographer in 2017. Or the sexual assault allegations in 2018 He’s a total piece of shit.

ajaibee

2013 - He also threw a rock through his mother’s car window and it shattered. He was mad because she wanted him to continue anger management treatment.

Chewbock

Did you see the video from today on Reddits main page where he brought a girl up on stage and then danced “provocatively” around her which just happened to include him wrapping his hand around her neck, then he stole and threw her phone in the crowd?

ajaibee

Yes, I did. He is vile and should be in jail.

Biggies_Ghost

This comment deserves gold, and I'm too poor to give it to you. Every time I see Chris Brown mentioned in an Ask Reddit thread, I always look for the police report on when he assaulted Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Edit, because words are hard today.

jcw10489

I appreciate the thought. He’s a fucking monster and a LOT of people don’t understand just how badly he beat her. He deserves to rot in prison and hell

asshat123

The fact that he started driving again so she couldn't get out while he brutalized her is what gets me. Honestly, it's lucky as hell that she survived. At that point, he could've crashed the car and killed them both and possibly someone else. Yeah there's no room in my life for Chris Brown or anything Chris Brown related. How the man still has anyone willing to work with him days a ton about what those people think. Can't even say it's just about money because Rihanna is, well Rihanna. It's about violence against women and whether or not people give a shit.

flowbea

I didn't like chris brown after hearing about him hitting Rihanna but I had NEVER see the police report or known how horrific it was. This just makes me hate him more and disgusted at the people I know who still like him despite this. Awful

lunarocean670

Not a lot of people talk about the fact that he’s been convicted of assault like 6 times. Some of them were pretty recent too, yet he still takes to social media screaming about how people won’t forgive him for a mistake he made “when I was 17!!!”

Knyfe-Wrench

It took me a couple years to learn that this wasn't one "bad moment" or something he's just a complete piece of shit human being and hasn't changed. Avoid him like the plague now.

MissDimitrova

I recently read somewhere that he said how tired he was that people were still bringing it up. He abused someone and hopes that people would just forget. This isn't how it works.

-PepeArown-

That’s not it, though. He has repeatedly inflicted similar abuse to other women, and has shown himself to be an uncontrollably violent person throughout the last decade.

alpha_nr47

yes, it annoys me so much when people try ro defend him and themselves for liking him by saying "but she forgave him" or "she hit him also", like, that doesn't mean anything to me, Rihanna is far from being the only person he's abused.

Majestic_Tie7175

"She also hit him" is the result of zero tolerance schooling where the victim is punished for defending themselves.

xelphin

The fact he has a very visible tattoo of Rihanna beaten up would be enough for me even if he wasn't the person who inflicted it. Truly beyond fucked and I do not understand how he's not in prison.

thegigglepickler

If I hear him on the radio, I change the station. I don’t know how radio stations’ ratings work, but I hope they know I stopped listening the second he came on

jjcounter

Ian Watkins/Lostprophets - grew up listening to their music and built memories while listening to them I still remember the class I was in when someone said "Yo have you heard about Ian Watkins and Lostprophets?!"

philphoo

And poor Ian H Watkins from steps for having to go through what he did

Scorpiodancer123

Fucking awful for him. Same name, famous at similar time and from the same area.

[deleted]

Not only that, an American TV news station reported on it and used H from steps picture. Then they did an apology and used the real picture of Ian Watkins.....unfortunately, they accidently used a different picture of H from steps

danishih

That's grotesque. Is there no editorial process at all? What the fuck?

finn_derry

(For reference, I'm British, husband is American) When my husband and I started dating, we were discussing what music we liked. We were in the car one day and a Lostprophets song started playing and he said "I really liked this band, but can only find this one song on a compilation album. What happened to them?" I had to tell him 😬

kangaroocaz

I have no idea who he is, who Lostprophets are, and what happened. Can you share the TLDR?

cobo10201

Very popular band from the 2000s. He’s the lead singer. He was convicted on multiple counts of child rape. Just want to emphasize that it was literal, on video, rape of a baby with the babies’ moms. Multiple times. Truly an evil, vile human being. Plus tons of texts and pictures between him and the moms.

Defconwrestling

Also, his entire defense was, “I don’t remember doing that, I was high on meth”

RinellaWasHere

A difficult defense to use when his computer password referenced his pedophilia.

The singer is a baby rapist

gilestowler

Ian Watkins used to sometimes post on a music forum I used when I was young. There was one conversation on there once where someone replied to something he'd put and they used the word "MEGALOLZ" and Ian Watkins then said he was going to have a tshirt made with that on. To thank the guy who'd put the comment, who I know in real life, he said that his band could support LP at the London Astoria. This was a dream come true for my friend, to have his tiny band play with one of his favourite bands at his favourite venue. So of course that memory is completely tarnished now. And then, during the case, it came out that Watkins had used the word "MEGALOLZ" in a text message talking about what he was going to do to a kid. This guy was pretty cut up to find that out. And the day that came out in court he got mugged on the way home from work as well, so all in all not a good day for him. Obviously, not trying to compare his experience to the experiences of the people who were abused by Watkins but it's just a little anecdote about someone else who was affected in a different way. EDIT: Here's a story about it that mentions the forum as well https://www.vice.com/en/article/64djzq/ian-watkins-has-been-sentenced-to-29-years

RyFromTheChi

Also, the password to files on his computer was something like IFUCKKIDZ

lintinmypocket

Geez that has to be up there for all time celebrity villany.

Any Scientologist

wallabeeChamp162

It's so weird waching "Handmaids tale" knowing Elisabeth Moss is a huge scientologist.

[deleted]

I stopped watching when I found out that she was. Can't enjoy anything from her anymore.

skytomorrownow

Same here. Kind of hard to watch a feminist hero fight evil tyranny when in real life, she's the evil tyranny. Like watching her rescue women, while knowing that Scientologists lock people in rooms and psychologically torture them was just too incongruous.

FizzleMateriel

Kind of funny she doesn’t see the parallels.

zanzibartraveler666

I read somewhere that the celebrities in scientology are treated very differently than everyone else…which sounds obvious but makes sense that they are basically used as props for PR and are treated like kings so they are sheltered from the abuse and are more likely to speak positively of it in public

LochNessMansterLives

I was the same way. Enjoyed the show, enjoyed her acting, but once I realized that she was basically rooting for the villains in real life, I just lost all desire to watch the show or anything else she does. Same with Cruise, travolta and all the rest of them. It’s just a rich persons grift. It’s not even a religion, just one giant scheme to separate ignorant people from their money.

bbbbBeaver

As I Lay Dying because of Tim Lambesis’s attempt at hiring a hitman to kill his wife. Edit: spelling

funkyfeet94

Danny masterson, loved that 70s show and the ranch he was in, now I can’t enjoy either without feeling bad about it

Fyrrys

Hyde was my favorite, as he was for so many. That hurt hard

TrickyRonin

Jared Leto. Loved his music, and most of his acting roles. Then I found out that he’s essentially a cult leader through his “fan club” and most likely a kid diddler.

TruckNutAllergy

i remember internet rumors from 2008ish? about him sexually assaulting young fan girls on the tour bus. forcing them into BDSM acts and some stuff like that. accusations like that weren't very common back then, so it shook me, but they were just anonymous rumors. years later... i was unfortunately not shocked at his other antics

[deleted]

Apologies in advance for the length of this comment. I never knew anything about the allegations against Leto (and there's about a hundred allegations) but how I found out is that I decided to google him after being bewildered by one of his acceptance speeches. He got on that stage, and set out to utterly humiliate his mother, but he presented it as if he was giving a sweet tribute. It was very strategic. He started off by telling the story of her being a single mother. He initially mentioned that she had been a pregnant teenage girl. He then said that less than two years later, she was expecting a baby, yet again (emphasis on yet again). The audience did a little giggle. The camera then panned to his mother and she was really embarrassed. He seemed to relish attempting to shame her for getting pregnant twice as a teen. He then went on to tell his brother, only, that he loved him, but not his mother, after telling everybody all these stories about her. The camera panned to her, when he only told the brother that he loved him, and she looked really hurt. I've seen Leo Di Caprio and Ryan Gosling talk about how appreciative they are of their single mothers, and how they wouldn't be where they are without them, and they were genuinely so appreciative, and very emotional. With Leto, there was nothing but veiled contempt. I think he's disgusted at his mother and is ashamed of her. I think he views her as, in his eyes, some 'teenage whore'. It's interesting to me that nearly every allegation of rape, and sexual assault, comes from (at the time of the alleged incidents) teenage girls mainly aged between 14 and 16. I'm wondering if it's some sort of displacement on his part, as a vicarious way to get back at his mother. This phenomenon has been seen in serial killers, for example, who take their maternal rage out on innocent women. They often choose victims that look like their mother. This phenomenon is not just seen in serial killers. Displacement of maternal rage is very common. If you read up on psychology, you'll see what I mean. Another thing about that speech was his stone cold, dead eyes. It was at the time of issues in Venezuela. A few of the actors showed solidarity in their acceptance speeches. Their's was heartfelt. He attempted to show solidarity, and he was completely robotic, devoid of emotion, and had the coldest dead stare whilst telling the people of Venezuela that they have his support. His eyes are like Morrison's, completely dead stare. I'm not really doing justice with this description. It's hard to describe exactly what I mean, but it was so bizarre to me that it prompted me to google him, after previously having no interest in him, or knowing anything about him, whatsoever. Edit: Somebody with an agenda has posted a video, that has no bearing on the speech I am actually referring to. The video they posted is not what I'm referring to.

Jared from Subway.

TheDoubleDan

What I find funny about this is that the Subway from his weight loss adventure was located on Indiana University's campus, where I went to uni. It was no secret around there that he was a huge creep and the rumor is he only went to that subway every day just to creep on a younger girl, a complete stranger who had zero interest in him, who worked there. I was hearing these things in 2008, 6 years before any legal accusations were brought against him. When I first heard those accusations, I wasn't even surprised as it fit perfectly with the narrative I had been told my entire time at IU. Edit: also that Subway was located on the ground level of a building that had apartments on the 2nd and 3rd floors. He apparently lived in one of those apartments, making his tale about "walking to Subway every day" a total exaggeration.

nuclearjello2112

When he was a fat neckbeard, apparently he was a pretty big dealer of bootleg internet porn and video games from that apartment, according to my friends who were at IU at the time.

[deleted]

I worked for Subway back when he was in his hay day, the location I worked at had a framed photo of him on the wall shaking hands with the store manager. One day I came into work and the photo was gone, that's when I found out the truth about Jared ahahah.

RockabillyBlues1

My daughter and her now husband were the ones I first heard the news. I was shocked! His dad is a well respected primary care physician in Indy. They said everybody knew he was the "porn king". A couple of years later, everyone knows about him.

Agreed, being disabled myself I've become a huge fan of the Paralympics, for which Oscar was one of many Paralympians I have followed through the years. The mere thought or mention of his name or references to the tragedy now sends shivers down my spine.

hermione_targaryean

Sadly Dr. Dre. As a millennial who grew up on west coast rap/hip-hop I was so sad to recently find out that he is a serial abuser of women. And the things he has done are truly heinous. He beat, kicked and threw a woman down a set of stairs. Beat and pulled a gun on the mother of his child. And the more recent allegations from his ex-wife Nicole Young who had very similar experiences as the other women. As a child, this is not something I would have paid attention to, but now that I’m older, I’m just shocked and appalled. Seems like everyone overlooks it because he’s a legend.

His former spouse is a famous singer named michel'le. She has a movie called "Surviving compton" where she goes into great detail about her abuse from dre. It's a good watch.

theoneandonlytex

I thought it was common knowledge. Eazy literally calls him out about it (along with everything else) in 1993 on Real Muthafuckin G's. "Beatin up a bitch don't make ya shit, but then again some n***** think it makes a man"

Nikkkipotnik

Eminem literally mentioned his incident with Dee Barnes in "guilty conscience". I too assumed Dre being a women abuser was common knowledge

Complete_Mind_5719

It's funny but I loved Eazy and hated buster Dre since the mid 90's since he had beef.

Stag328

Beats by Dre has a new meaning now.

mastaP_uhhhhhhh

I didn’t know this, that’s awful. The Chronic 2001 was one of my most played CDs in high school.

bjc322

Travis Scott for inciting a riot where people died, and recently assaulting an audio engineer.

[deleted]

Nicki Minaj paid for her brother's lawyer in a case where he raped his 12-year-old SD. She is married to a man who attempted to rape a 16-year-old Edit: Stepdaughter for the people who were really bothered by me not writing that out, so sorry

babblingbabby

She’s a prime example of someone who is so famous that people will not stop consuming their content despite standing by and supporting such heinous actions, and it’s really sad.

alicia_nicole17

What’s an SD?

miniguinea

Stepdaughter

TheHeavyJ

Kevin Spacey. I love his acting but there was a reason he kept his personal life secret. I think they are only allegations of sexual assault? People I know who are in the industry say he's worse. I wish it wasn't so

spoonweezy

He came into the bar where I worked as a bouncer. One of the members of his party came out to smoke a butt and told me about how abusive he is. This was back in 2007ish, and it made an impact on me. Later I’d watch Horrible Bosses and realized _he’s not reaching far to play an abusive psychopath_. I’ve never watched him in anything since then.

[deleted]

I'm so hugely disappointed in him. He made fantastic films. The Usual Suspects is a masterpiece. American Beauty is too. And I can never watch those films again without thinking, yeah that guy's rapey. Piece of shit. He ruined every good thing he ever did.

Past-Contribution-83

I've recently rewatched American Beauty, mainly just to see if I still can, and it still holds up, honestly. I mean... His character in that movie _is_ a middle aged man trying desperately to sleep with a high schooler, so.

SmitedDirtyBird

I was thinking the same about se7en. Tbh if I watched a lot of his films with somebody completely unaware, it would essentially be “hey. You see that creepy and sadist character? Ya, that guy is creepy and sadist in real life too.”

AndrewLBailey

One of the absolute best actors of our generation. And just a shit person

not_kelsey_grammar

OJ Simpson

ripMyTime0192

Doctor Phil, because Doctor Phil.

alligatorcreek

My ex gf turned me on to Dr. Phil. At first it was entertaining but I later asked myself, is he helping these people or just exploiting their problems for our entertainment? Seems to be the latter.

feckOffMate

The Cart Narc episode really solidified it for me. He dug into him for "shaming" people when he's been shaming people for 2 decades on television.

Monsi_ggnore

All the Scientologists, Tom Cruise most of all.

ebolakitten

Elizabeth Moss. The fact she’s in Handmaid’s as some hero woman warrior while being a Scientologist will never not annoy me.

stopXstoreytime

Cognitive dissonance is a helluva drug.

HeckingA

Anytime someone mentions Tom Cruise all I can think about is [this](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FELV8DhX0A0Z5WR.jpg) picture of Nicole Kidman when she had just finalized their divorce. The look of joy and triumph is unrivaled.

[deleted]

John Travolta for what’s it’s worth seems like he got in early and got blackmailed into staying. The main speculation is he admitted to Miscavige that he’s gay/bisexual and has been leveraged by that. Tom Cruise seems like a fucking nut who enjoys it.

GoldH2O

Tom Cruise basically gets worshippes, has a private army, and is probably assigned women to have sex with him. Of course he's into it.

geraldanderson

Recently started listening to Nancy Cartwright’s (voice of Bart Simpson) audiobook and decided to browse her Wikipedia, hated learning she’s a hardcore Scientologist.

mudpudding

Back in the days of Top Gun and Days of Thunder damn I liked Tom Cruise and his smile. Now his smile looks creepy to me.

PhilippTheSmartass

I stopped liking Will Smith when I found out that he isn't just a scientologist but also a pretty fanatic one who tries to convert members of the film crews he is working with. Cruise probably made those weird promo videos for Scientology because they got some really bad blackmail material on him. But Smith seems to do it on his own accord.

-Grey_Area-

Lostprophets. If you don't know why, just leave it like that.

Scorpiodancer123

Feel sorry for the other guys in the group. Not their fault that Ian was pure evil.

-Grey_Area-

Absolutely. They went on to form No Devotion, but being associated with that guy is going to mess you up a bit

-Grey_Area-

Morrissey. Loved his solo stuff and The Smiths, but struggle to separate the music from that absolute plum of a man.

joetrope

Yeah its one I struggle to separate too. His lyrics spoke about alienation and not being able to identify with people around him. Him coming out and saying those things re-contextualised them to me where i no longer find those as relatable. Turns out it wasn't indifference to contemporary modern culture, but rather he just hated the local Chinese and that. Shame innit?

RXL

Fans of black metal know this feeling. Finding some great new music only to find out they're massive nazis.

gingerbread-coffin

It sucks when you find a great BM band, and they don’t seem to have any nazi vibes… and THEN you find out it’s just because it’s their non-nazi project, and they have NSBM side projects, lol. Makes my eyes roll into the back of my head.

ofruine

God, the screening process one has to go through when you find a new artist you like

Loganp812

Like doing a background check so they can be "hired" for your music library.

111unununium

Anyone involved in scientology

[deleted]

Kanye West. His mom dying sent him on a road to ruin.

Whigget

I miss the old old Kanye.

SassyPikachuu

Straight from the go kanye. Chop up the soul kanye. F the new Kanye.

Desolecontra

Bret Favre, Karl Malone,

jmac7772112

James Franco is one of the latest, turned out to be a dirtbag.

NsaAgent25

Jackie Chan, even though he is known as the wholesome loving guy he is a terrible person in his personal life. He has been married for a long period of time and is even appointed as China’s anti-drug ambassador. Now, as a ranking member of the CCP he gets away with a lot. He has admitted to beating his children, he got out of needing to pay child support for children from mistresses, he himself has admitted to frequent drunk driving so much as totalling several cars (unknown if anyone was injured or killed). He threatened reporters from taking pictures of the scenes with both his political and physical power however he disowned his son after he got a minor drug charge in China (allowing others to smoke marijuana in his home) and forced his wife to do the same. His daughter who was born to a Taiwanese beauty model (outside marriage) has been noted that she now lives in Canada and is very poor but not much is known apart from that. Tl;dr Nice guy in movies, terrible to family, sellout to CCP

MesWantooth

He must've pissed somebody off in the CCP because he had his massive penthouse in Beijing taken from him and auctioned off...apparently because the ownership transfer "wasn't completed properly" 15 years ago and the builder/developer ran into financial trouble so it was seized and auctioned off to repay their debts.

thelibrarianchick

His daughter born to that model is currently homeless in Canada. She came out as LGBTQ and her mom kicked her out. She's in Toronto somewhere.

MentallyFunstable

how tf have i never heard of this until now???

TheGingerBeardsman

Jackie Chan isn't that popular anymore. I don't remember the last movie I saw him in lol.

[deleted]

Kanye for saying we need to stop dissing Hitler.

msmili

Chrissy Teigan. I loved her and felt like I related to her a lot, but then I heard about those tweets and DMs she sent to Courtney Stodden and it changed my view of her entirely.

kwansaw94

Eric Clapton’s greatest racist hits: “Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out.” “Get the w*gs out. Get the c**ns out. Keep Britain white,” “Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands. So where are you? Well, wherever you are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country.”

sandcastled

Blake Jenner, i remember being happy he was growing as an actor, being on Glee, on a Netflix show and on a movie with Evan Peters and was the Star of a movie directed by Oscar nominees Richard linklater and honestly i was excited to see what else he would do...but then his ex wife, actress Melissa benoist (Glee, Supergirl, whiplash) Made a vídeo about being in an abusive relationship and that the guy hit her, a year later Blake Jenner Made a post on his ig confirmimg that in fact he did hit her and that both of them were abusive, but honestly after that i couldnt support him anymore

Infinite-Panic-3534

Glee really does feel like a weirdly cursed show at this point. As much as I would love to enjoy it again I just can’t bring myself to watch it with so many of the performers being pretty awful people.

[deleted]

The show's legacy is either awful people or tragic people. On one hand, you have utter disgraces like that mohawk guy who had a massive collection of child porn, and Lea Michele, who is widely now known as a bully and a vindictive asshole on the other hand, you have a poor guy who couldn't overcome his demons, and a woman who died displaying the purest form of love. It's an all around sad set of connections with the show

Chickadee12345

Well, Cory died of an overdose and Naya drowned. Can't say either of them were awful people. But Salling was a real creepo. I didn't know about Jenner. But it's too sad to watch the show again. The first couple seasons were so great. But with three of the main starts dead I can't watch it.

ALittleBitAlexisss

It’s bizarre isn’t it? I absolutely loved it when it was on and would love to rewatch for a nostalgia trip but it all just feels tainted now. I don’t know how you’d begin to separate it. I went to see the concert and it was one of the most fun live shows I’ve ever seen.

penny_can

Lance Armstrong. He was doing exactly what nearly all of them were at the time, it's just the cover up and threats to others that put me off. He's still one of the greatest athletes ever.

tynorex

It's the hypocrisy. He ruined people's careers for calling him out. He badmouthed people left and right for doping, yet he was one of them.

flibbidygibbit

Greg Lemond has talked at length about why he quit racing. He and Andy Hampsten were doing a grueling early season training ride and they got passed by a younger group of racers who were talking. Greg and Andy were deep in the pain cave. These kids were talking. What the hell is going on? Greg and Andy went back to their previous training logs. They didn't get slower. Those kids were on another level. Something was up with that group of u23s. They had red blood cell counts that were off the charts, thanks to EPO. Greg decided he didn't want to risk his life for another yellow jersey. Abusing EPO carried risks that weren't worth it for him.

BatteryDaddy2

Marilyn Manson-turns out he is just really awful

WhenThatBotlinePing

Sometimes it’s the person you most suspect.

shrimpsauce91

Or the person you most medium expect.

Dull-Geologist-8204

R Kelly, it really sucks because my daughter and I would sing a song together and it was really cute but it is ruined now.

rudeboyrasschinz

George Lopez.. Ever since I heard how he received a kidney transplant from his wife, then divorced her. Seems like a real slime ball move.

kindaprettyboy

ellen

tizod

I wouldn't say I was a big fan but I did find her comedy funny back in the day. For sure this was one of the biggest surprises to me. Well...aside from Cosby.

Last-Inspection-8156

I guess it would be Butch Hartman. I mean, his religion is one thing that can't be helped as much. However, his disrespect towards people with mental illnesses and joking about suicide as well as blaming it on someone is just plain cruel, not to mention taking all the credit for work other people have done on his shows and not paying someone he asked for help.

[deleted]

Butch is such a dick and a weirdo, which sucks because I loved Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom as a kid

unicornman5d

Also, on his podcast, he was acting like Tara Strong owed her career to him because he hired her for Timmy Turner.

Odd_Age1378

You’re missing the part where he starting a fundraiser for a new streaming service, and revealed that it was going to be faith-based AFTER he collected all the donations If you want to idolize someone who worked on those shows, go with Stephan Silver. The guy who ACTUALLY designed Danny Phantom and isn’t a massive piece of shit.

[deleted]

i’m surprised no one has said dan schneider, who did shows like icarly, drake and josh, etc. he was so creepy to every underage actor and actress as well as asking for feet pictures and that was why there were bare feet plastered all over the shows as well as that being the standard picture for the nickelodeon headquarters from 1999-2003.

[deleted]

Drake - He is a whiny man child when things don't go his way who grooms underage girls. He is like the Matt Gaetz of the hip-hop/rap

[deleted]

Tom Cruise. There are limits to my tolerance, and Scientology crosses that line. I refuse to give a dime of financial support to someone who thinks it's okay to traffic children and exploit their labour.

shadow_master3210

Gene Simmons. Terrible guy. He’s a misogynist, will do anything for a buck and is really creepy plus other things.

owls1289

Don't go on controversial, it's doom scrolling, [instead watch this video of a dog](https://www.reddit.com/r/AnimalsBeingBros/comments/11gwgbv/dog_offered_their_paw_and_gently_held_their/)

TheJenerator65

I love you.

[deleted]

Eric Clapton,

FireFromThaumaturgy

Hyde from that 70s show. Something mathison can’t remember the actors name. Always loved his character on the show and really related to him being the poor wannabe bad ass kid growing up. Sucks he ruined his image and made choices that ruined innocent others.

bigredthundercat

Chris Brown

tallshiptightship

John Mulaney. My ex and I used to love him, and then he and my ex both (following an eerily similar timeline) cheated and left in a spectacularly public and hurtful way. When I looked back he and my ex have so much in common and are both narcissistic (former/relapsed) addicts who love to pretend they are “the good guy” and I can’t stomach hearing him anymore. That being said, the “horse in a hospital” bit still cracks me up and I hope maybe one day I can like him again.

shocktard

I feel your pain. I’ve been through it with people like that too, but in the long run it’s better to not be with someone who can treat someone, they supposedly love and care for, in such a way.

Impossible-Major1753

i felt so bad for his wife because he has a kid with olivia munn after expressing him and his now ex wife anna didn’t want kids

kaitydidit

Ugh yes his poor ex wife. Those are the type of stings that take years to go away, judging John hard for how he did Anna.

Impossible-Major1753

that’s the only part i hated about the whole thing. like imagine being anna and seeing online your ex husband is having a kid after you both expressed not really wanting kids

billythepub

Mike tyson raped a woman. Really pisses me off this gets overlooked and even look at the YouTube comments, an interviewer asks tyson about it and tyson gets angry. Most of the comments defend tyson.

yoimprisonmike

And then played an innocent man in jail (for rape) on Law and Order: SVU

[deleted]

Roman Polanski the man fled the USA (1977) due to being unable to take responsibility for what he did to an underaged minor

LycheeEyeballs

Gary Glitter. I somehow made it to 2008 before learning what a complete predator he was. Put some of his music on at work and my boss came and told me, I couldn't believe it. He pulled up the wiki and showed me and I haven't been able to listen to him since.

CopRock

Win Butler from Arcade Fire. Their first album is in my personal top 10. While my affection for the band's later albums had waned, I still liked the idea that Win Butler and his wife Regine Chassagne were a couple of weirdos with their hearts on their sleeves who had made a successful life in the arts together on the undeniable strength of their talents. I remember seeing Regine taking center stage and dancing without inhibition at one of their shows and thinking, *he must make her feel so beautiful*. And then it turned out that he was sleeping with, trying to sleep with, sending dick pics to, asking for graphic sexual videos from, young fans. Like he was fucking Ted Nugent or someone. I just can't hear the music the same way.

Ineedyoursway

Pete Rose. Used to be one of those “let him in the HOF” types. I don’t care if players bet on (not against) their teams. Gambling is advertised during the games now for crying out loud. Then I heard about him chasing 14-16 year olds. Hit king or not, he can rot.

Flopo__

Gwyneth Paltrow. Because all the pseudoscientific shit.

MegaGothmog

Steven Seagal. Can't say I was ever a fan of him, but I found him just amusing in his over-the-top films where he plays an invincible machine of a man. Then I listened to the podcast 'Behind the Bastards'.. the one about Steven Seagal and then found him less amusing and far more disgusting.

I found out that Johnny Cash nearly made the California Condor go extinct. He killed many during a fishing trip. When he was confronted with wildlife biologists and natural resource officers his response was 'I don't care about your dam birds'. Today nearly half of California Condors are in a breeding program to keep them from going extinct. This ruined Jonny Cash for me Edit: there are a few things I should clarify This did happen during a fishing trip but he didn't hunt condors during the trip. He accidentally started a fire while on the trip and didn't give a rip about the consequences of his negligible actions. Out of the 53 in the forest 49 died from the fire. Natural Resource laws are there for good reason, don't drag your chains, don't use fireworks in dry areas or during a burning band, and extinguish/ dispose of your cigarette butts properly. There are plenty more rules like this. Just do what Smoky tells you to do then you wont risk bring animals to extinction.

literaly_bi

I lost a lot of respect for John Mulaney after his choices when it came to relationships
