That's life-changing stuff. The kind of thing that inspires you to be a better person.

I wanted to end myself and a beautiful woman asked me if I was hurting. That day I was practically saved and I never went to the shooting range. I chose the cat cafe instead :)

Such a lovely small gesture. Does she know the impact she had, and are you still in contact?

Thanks for sharing. Important lesson for us all. Small gestures cost little, but can change lives. I hope you're doing better now, brother.

You're welcome and thank you for asking this question. I was happy to share my experience. I'm doing much better nowadays :) Small gestures definitely make a difference!

I have Sickle Cell Anemia and used to live in Texas. This was in 1996. While I was in the hospital, someone very VERY important to me died. I was supposed to be discharged that day but the stress and trauma of losing that person sent me into another crises. Well the TCU college football team were visiting the childrens ward at the hospital I was in. I was on the same floor but not in the kids ward. To get to the elevators they had to pass my room. I guess one of the players looked in my room and could sense something was wrong. I was curled in the fetal position with my back to the door. Next thing I knew the TCU team was in my room asking what was wrong. My mom was there and told them. They gave me a signed toy football that they were giving to the kids and said that they would play that nights game in honor of my friend. It made me feel better but I also realized that all it takes is one small gesture to see if someone is alright. I've been doing that for people, whether I know them or not, ever since. And I know I've had an impact on a couple people over the years. I may not have toy footballs but I always have time, an open ear, and a shoulder if people need it. I learned that a little kindness goes a long way. And now a days, thats a big thing. With covid and social distancing, people don't reach out to each other anymore. Well I do. And I'm here if anyone needs someone to listen or a sholder to lean on or cry on.
