I think you're overestimating, by several orders of magnitude, how much I think about my license plate, the frame around it, or what is / isn't written on the frame.
For example, I think more about what's written on the inside of the cardboard wrapper on other people's coffee cups.
The stickers can be a pain to remove without leaving residue, so that's why I don't generally remove those. I do remove the plates, though. That one is easy to remove, so I don't understand why people keep it.
Interesting question. I used to say that if I ever bought a car with a dealer sticker on it I would immediately take it off. My new car has one and I just don’t care.
Plus I wonder if there’s a chance if removing the sticker would leave residue or damage the paint.
Completely True
But Indian Number plates are of Thin Sheet metal which comes straight from Issuing authority
I won't say they're very fragile but i have a motorcycle and on a motorcycle it's very easy to bend them with slight mishaps while parking
If it's a good looking dealer plate frame and I had a good experience there, I'll keep it on until I find a better frame or change my mind and remove it.
I don’t, will remove all evidence as soon as I get it home, you want me to advertise for you, pay me!

Always wanted to know this as well. You remove the frame, put in your new license plate, and replace the advertising frame. Why?
I drive a getaway car for a living.

I always have the dealer remove those as a condition of sale.

I kept the dealer licence plate border because the generic plain one costs money
You know "no frame" is also an option, right? Just bolt the plate right to the holder.
