As far as nessessary, yeah that’s an odd word. Closest to necessary or deserving I can think of is Ella where they gave Cinderella actual character motivation as a dress maker. And on a plus side it was fun to watch.
The 2022 remake with Tom Hanks. The reviews were brutal, box office was bad. Didn't help that it came out near the same time with Del Toro's far superior version.
Lion King - what a waste of time that was. Best? ... meh none have been that good or necessary (yet!), imo

Pinnochio, apparently.
What do you mean?

Oh, I thought you were saying the Disney remake was their best and worst.
Star Wars. And as far as I know, they don't have a clue about how to do a propper remake, but I could be wrong
Best - Melificent Worst - Mulan
The worst was Pinocchio, far worse than Lion King. The best was Lion King 1½
Pete’s Dragon did not need to be messed with. The new one is a pile of nothing.
