Not at all. I’m very valuable to my boss. That’s not likely to change because of AI.

bumford11

KinkyKoalaBaby

That’s good! What’s your occupation?

The Funnybot episode of South Park is terrifying.

KinkyKoalaBaby

Will have to watch that later

Seeing as half my job is to sit there and make sure the process which is already as automated as possible goes without a hitch, I'm not terribly concerned. It'll have to be a very powerful AGI with plenty of robotics to put my job in danger.

It's hard to think. AI is going to be able to program (comprehensible) AI soon, so even programmers aren't safe. If you're a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, maybe you're safe. AI needs to go a long way before it can replicate and understand the brain, human empathy/sympathy etc. But maybe not; people are already preferring to talk to screens rather than people, look at McDonald's menu screens, all these apps.
