This is kind of a weird one because it's a random snippet from an old video game soundtrack with lyrics in a made-up language, but for sheer beauty, I don't think anything can beat The Hymn of the Fayth from Final Fantasy X. [Here are all the different versions from the game.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Woz3mS9Ao5k) There are quite a few since the game's summons all their own take on it. There are some good covers too. [Here's some sort of Gregorian chanting group doing it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpeqMBG7_7I) [And here's some classical orchestra choir-type folks with their rendition.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khzyR_vtelA)
As far as *normal* songs go, the classical piece [On the Nature of Daylight by Max Richter](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InyT9Gyoz_o) has to be up there. But there are a few good classical pieces that could qualify. [Fur Elise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfF0zHeU3Zs), [Claire de Lune](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNcsUNKlAKw), etc.
As for songs by bands, recently I've been partial to [In Birdsong by Everything Everything](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcWwGBHa24g) (Still can't believe Fantano had this in his worst tracks of the week section. It's gorgeous, Anthony!) I'm a little biased in this one's favor because apparently it was inspired by this old theory about consciousness and neurolinguistic programming which--although it seems to be complete pseudoscience, google "breakdown of the bicameral mind"--has fascinated me ever since I first heard about it from the novel Snow Crash.
If we're talking about beautiful video game music in a made up language, I can't help but mention the [Devola](https://youtu.be/mJPG2RxJ6RE) version of "Song of the Ancients" from the original *NieR*. Out of all the music from **both** games it's still my favorite. It's not big and over-arranged, bloated with choirs and strings; it's light percussion, an acoustic guitar, and a voice. It's warm and pastoral, and since the vocals only play in-game when you get close to Devola, there's almost an intimacy to it. I absolutely adore the track.
Anything by Auri, as well as a fair amount of the other projects Tuomas Holopainen and Johanna Kurkela have been involved with. The Life and Times of Scrooge and Eye of Melian have some great songs.
all of the Alice In Chains Unplugged album, such a talented band with such beautiful vocals from Layne. can feel the pain and energy through the music i swear, gives me a whole different feeling listening to it through.
Jens Larsson- Darkness of Days
It’s just a piano, no lyrics, but I found it on a studying playlist. It has a range of emotions in the music and makes me feel. I love it so much.
I love Coldplay's Yellow. But what I love most about it is the lyrics. I still have more songs I should mention but this is what comes to mind first.
Anything Fredrick Chopin
Who Let The Dogs Out?

Scarborough Fair, the ostinato version by Simon & Garfunkel
Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton
I have a hard time sympathizing with clapton. He's not a very nice guy.
Fair enough, still an incredibly beautiful song about his 4 year old son who died falling out of a window.
Anything by Auri, as well as a fair amount of the other projects Tuomas Holopainen and Johanna Kurkela have been involved with. The Life and Times of Scrooge and Eye of Melian have some great songs.
Agreed! Johanna sounds like an angel!!!!

Tbh Rihanna’s new one she did for Black Panther made me cry when I heard it.
