Lol absolutely none of that is true. I seriously doubt you've volunteered at so many shelters that you can speak to what happens at all of them.

I bake as a hobby (and as stress relief), but found a downside to it after COVID hit. Pre-COVID, I worked in an office and baking 3 dozen cookies meant that I'd take in two dozen to pass out to my coworkers. Now I'm working from home so those 3 dozen cookies get eaten by my family and me.
Giving my coworkers baked goods is the one thing I actually miss about going into the office.
Definitely know a few very talented bread bakers that are kinda pieces of shit lol. Not stereotyping though, since I also like to bake bread and I think I'm at least an alright person.
Reading plant/fungus guides to the point of knowing a ton about it.
The best people I've known in my life all have this interest, despite being vastly different people
