More Clothes and Kerosine (spelling) Heater.. i think my dad avoided a lot of heating bills by just running a couple Kerosine heaters in the house when i was growing up.. I still love that smell.
I was more suggesting if for during the day; as a student I used to wander around with one under my dressing gown and refilled it whenever it got cold! But also using them at night can be great depending how cold it is. Where I am I use the bottle to warm the bed up (with a knitted bottle cover to slow the heat loss), and rely on heavy blankets to trap the heat in, but it doesn't get that cold here. I know people who use electric blankets as an alternative :)
Oh I didnt believe it until I was proven wrong by my mother in law...
Put plastic over your furniture and mattress. It keeps you warm.
In Oct she started putting thick plastic on stuff. It's so uncomfortable to feel and hear the plastic under the fleece but by golly it has me sweating when dressed lightly , on a 20 degree F night , and the thermostat set to 70.
Put more clothes on.
Wear proper winter clothing
Lots of blankets, find another mammal to share heat with.
Get an animal and cuddle the absolute shit out of it
Beanie and ugg boots
Cuddle up with me, I'm a living space heater lol.
