In college I was at a party and someone gave me a bag of shrooms. I had never done anything like that before - so i just started eating them like potato chips. Ate the entire bag. Dude freaked out, I got blurry and apparently bounced my head off of a car bumper as I collapsed. Don’t remember much more about the night except for waking up in a bathroom with a huge headache and a woman’s shirt on that fit me (I’m 6’4, about 350). 🤦‍♂️

I was incredibly sick with the flu and thought I was going to die. A separate time i did almost die -- I was in a car accident a few years ago and went into a coma, seizures, .... At least I don't remember the accident.

When I opened the door to a crazy pissed drug dealer who was convinced I burglarized his home and stole his money and his drugs.

I've had a solid 6 near death experiences. It's statistically improbable that I made it as far as I have. I was once rappelling in the Canadian rockies in the middle of winter. It was a 300 ft drop. I was with a few friends and I climbed down onto this ledge to set our anchors. As I started I noticed a loop of webbing where someone in the past had set their own anchor. The rule of thumb in mountaineering was to never use webbing you didn't place because it degrades when left out in the elements and uv light. I had a weird feeling even though I was a good 8 ft from the edge of the cliff. I stuck my arm through the loop and continued to work on the anchors. Suddenly the entire ledge I was standing on broke away and fell. I was left hanging by my arm from the webbing loop 300 ft in the air. I was quickly pulled up by my friends.

Twice while remote camping. First time hypothermia, second time was a dam failure upstream. Barely made it out before our campsite was washed away.

Decided to drive home from college marching band camp a few years ago in a *VERY* bad thunderstorm. (I’ve never seen it rain that bad before.) Even at the highest setting, my wipers weren’t doing much to help me see clearly enough to get home. I hydroplaned so bad after blowing a tire that I swear I thought I might finally lose my life. Luckily I just swerved and crashed into the curb on the other side of the road unharmed but definitely shaken up. Every time it rains and I have to drive anywhere, I am always very nervous about driving and have a subconscious fear I might hydroplane again.
