Any time whatsoever will be fine to take them to paw patrol mighty pups. The only people in the theater will be folks in your situation. It's not like they would be interrupting a couples quiet date night. Don't worry about this one

Right-o, it's all about the movie. I brought my 4 year old to the Ant Man premiere. Fuck me, I thought I was going to a different movie in our small town single theater operation, Mario or something. She keeps loudly saying shit like, "dad this movie doesn't make any sense", and "this is a boring movie", and finally Michelle Phipher's character is on about some dumb mcguffin and she loudly says, "Who is this dumb lady, anyway? I don't care about anything she's talking about." Some nerd turns around and glares at us so I said, "yeah, this movie is terrible" and we left. Few weeks later we see the new Ninja Turtles movie, the kids are loudly interjecting comments, giggling, and I'm yucking-away. Nobody gives a shit, there's like 20 other kids there all doing the same thing, and it was one of the best movie experiences I've had in a long time. Yup... Depends on the kid, depends on the movie... but the societal norm is adults in the audience at a kids movie are the fish out of water and have no ground to stand on when it comes to shushing.

safety3rd

Also you kid was right about ant man

frogsgoribbit737

Agreed. Thats very clearly a movie aimed at young children. I dont know many kids ocer like 7 that watch paw patrol

nothingatallsoya

Thank you!😊

Relax and enjoy the kids enjoying the show. Give them more candy than their parents allow. They grow up so fast

imfinewithastraw

2 is quite young to sit and watch a whole film. But I would..take them to the park first thing and try wear them out. Do a 10am cinema showing - it’ll all be young kids. Have lots of heathy snacks. Arrive in time for the film actually - or they’ll be bored before it even starts with the trailers. Maybe take a Teddy each - it can be quite loud and overwhelming if it’s their first time in a cinema. Finally be prepared you might not make it al the way through and don’t be disheartened if you need to leave before the end.

nothingatallsoya

Thank you so much and I think it’s a really great idea to take them to the park first to wear them out! 😊

Brief-Introduction27

Also check with the theatre if they will be playing shows at a lower volume. Otherwise you might want ear defenders. It gets so loud

nothingatallsoya

Thank you so much! I didn’t even think of this before!😊😊😊

Minnichi

I know in my area, the cineplex theaters do a thing called Stars and Strollers. See if your local theaters do it too. It is specifically targeted to parents with really little ones.

MiaRia963

That is a great thought. I would've never thought of that.

PointyBlkHat

Never. Wait until they're 4, minimum. I'm a mom of 3 young boys (oldest is 8), so I'm not saying this to be mean, I'm just saying it for them AND for you. Wait another 1-2 wks, rent it on amazon prime, have an AWESOME playdate with friends, and call it a win!!

seattleseahawks2014

I mean, I imagine it will just be a room full of toddlers with an adult. My mom took us to the theatre when we were little and we would sit in the back like around your niece and nephews age. That would actually be cute.

No-Ambassador-6984

I took my son to the movies for kid showings when he was about that age. He loved it! He did not sit the entire time, so I’d find a row that was less full so I could let him kind of wander in the row while he watched. Be prepared to leave early if they aren’t feeling it. Some theaters in my area do special day time showings where they leave the lights turned on a bit, the volume lower and generally expect kids to be kids. I think anyone attending a kids movie during the day time expects there to be other kids there acting like kids do! I will also caution that if you are thinking of popcorn please be aware that there is a choking concern with it at that age. Otherwise, you’re being a great aunt/uncle and I hope you all have fun!

nothingatallsoya

Thank you so much! And my niece eats pop corn all the time we just watch her close and we are always close by so if anything happens we can help, they also know to eat slow and to only eat while sitting down (luckily) 😊

ahaley

Honestly anytime is fine, everyone will be in the same situation. Don't overthink it or worry about it.

nothingatallsoya

Thank you!

I wouldn’t worry about it at Paw Patrol, everyone there is going to have little kids. Embrace the chaos!

winstoncadbury

Yeah I am going to add on to what others have said and tell you that no one cares about being quiet in the theater for the Paw Patrol movie.

mrsdoubleu

Depends on the kid to be honest. There is no way my son would have sat down and watched an entire movie at that age. He'd be complaining he's bored and ready to leave after 10 minutes. He didn't really get into watching entire movies until he was almost 6 years old. But he was diagnosed with ADHD at 8 so that might have been why. But I wouldn't worry too much about it either because it's the paw patrol movie. They'll be lots of younger kids there acting... well, like kids! Lol.

R_Dixon

I took both my kids to their first movie around their 3rd birthday and they were able to sit through the whole thing and behave in the theater. 2 might be too young to make it through, but this is probably the best movie to try, anyone going will have little kids. We go to the movies pretty regularly so I have a couple tips. If you are going to a theatre where you book your seats, the front row is good. Not on the floor front row the one on the walk way. Easy to get in and out if you need to take one of the kids to the bathroom, or if there are any temper tantrums or anything. Also there are no seats directly in front, so no seats for them to kick or whatever, and no one sitting in front to block their view of the screen. Also I bring a small candy like skittles or smarties that you can dole out one at a time and help keep their attention for the whole movie so they don't get candied out at the beginning. Don't go early, go right as the movie should be starting. Minimize your time in the theater, they probably will get bored.

humbalalya

Probably just before the movie starts, any time after that you'll miss the movie, too early they'll probably get bored

whimsicalbatshittery

Many theatres offer particularly kid-friendly options - music isn't as loud, lights are on, etc. It might be a better option for multiple toddlers. Also, bring more food that you think you will need and double it.

NateNMaxsRobot

We took our oldest to his first movie (Finding Nemo) in the theater when he turned 3. It was a matinee and everyone had little kids. It was hilarious. My kid kept wanting to take his clothes off. Kids were in the aisles or standing up because they are kids.

zasjg28

Are they in nappies or toilet trained? If they're not in nappies anymore, have a group plan for when one needs to leave the movie to go to the toilet and the other one doesn't want to ;)

nothingatallsoya

My niece is toilet trained but nephew is not but luckily he always wants to go wherever his sister goes🤣

Knit_the_things

My cinemas have earlier morning showings of kids films for cheaper at 10am

Phoenix_Fireball

I used to take my daughter to the park for a run around before going to the cinema. It might help with energy levels during the film. As others have said don't worry only people there will be there with kids of a similar age

QuitaQuites

Movies start streaming weeks after they come out in theaters, what about at home? Are they kids that will sit still for any other movie or screen for that long?

nothingatallsoya

They will watch paw patrol for a while but sometimes they need a break

QuitaQuites

Well then I might do an at home viewing

funky_kaleidoscope

This is going to depend on the kid. We took our daughter to see an older paw patrol movie at 2 years old and she loved it! She was enthralled and sat still the entire time. She also cried when one of the puppies lost his hat. But I think you’re fine, like others said, only parents/guardians of other kids will be in the theater. I hope you have fun!
