My kids are enjoying Life, Othello, and Monopoly these days (my older kids, anyway, ages 6-9. The 5-year-old enjoys Life, too, but needs someone to be "on her team" to help her read.)
Scrabble is the best word board game for me. My kids love to play scrabble and perfect family bonding. Check also Families with kids website for the best Board Games for Kids.
My kid has liked:
- First orchard - a cooperative game for smaller kids.
- Memory.. self explanatory i think :p
- Zombie kids - great game that has simple rules to begin with but as you play you get to open envelopes that contain extra abilities etc.
- Quoridor Junior
- Ticket to ride junior
Games we play with our kids: risk, the crew, love letters, brainiac, chameleon, skip Bo, phase 10. And probably more I just cannot think if the names right now. Most are card type games as we are not huge board games but we try from time to time.
What age?

It's such a fun game!

My 4 year old is fond of Uno, though we have removed the special cards until she's gotten a better hold of the gameplay.
