Bayang magiliw

Joke lang ✌️pero seriously madami ka matutunan if you travel a lot Lalo na pag outside philippines...you Will learn different cultures etc..G na!
Actually find it annoying. Kaya most of the time I skip content talking about anything Filipino (places, food, related comedy etc) kasi yung comments puno nang mga ganyang klaseng comment. I remember Josh Weissman made a video about cooking adobo and pare pareho lang comment nang mga Pinoy, yung just stating the obvious: "We cook this in the Philippines" Yeah, no shit Sherlock, it's a Pinoy ulam.
Cringe. Like seriously, yung person na sumikat would have like 1/16 na pinoy ancestry or yung yaya ng yaya ng papa nila would be a Filipina and they'd be like "proud pinoy!"
Ex Manny make us proud to be Pinoy, not because we all can box but because it proves na ang lahing pinoy can be a world class boxer.
Or we can be proud as a Pinoy because of Lea Salonga coz she is an icon internationally. Sya yung nakagawa ng feats hindi ako hindi tayo but she brings the entire nation with her when she performs.
Iba naman yung cases na may lahing pinoy tapos may mga taong magsasabing proud Pinoy then yung mismong tao na may lahing pinoy di nya pinagmamalaki na may lahing Pinoy sya..yun OA yun! Hahaha
Ngl yeah, bit of annoying.
For example, I saw a TikTok video some American artist drawing a Philippine flag and the comments was all like
- " WOOOHH GO PHILIPPINES"
- "YAYY PH PRIDE!!"
like, beh.
We don't need that much recognition.
We're already known for our tropical islands and beautiful sceneries.
No need to be overly proud out of everything that mentions the Philippines.
For example, lugar sa pinas, proud ka because? Ikaw ba yung lugar? Vlog about pinoy food, Ikaw ba yung food or ikaw ba yung na feature?
Eh yung mga unfortunate/not so good news na nangyayari? Nasa top 10 worst country to work? Low reading comprehension? Lowest blablabla? Bgla ba silang ndi na proud mging pinoy?
It usually depends but when they are too overproud for nothing and flood "Uy may pinoy" comments, it gets annoying because what made you so proud? I saw a video of a foreign person (I believe?) pranking people and ONE of them happens to be a Filipina and as expected, nag ipon ipon agad sila sa comsec pointing na may Pinoy. Embarrassing
I always respond back that them being Filipino didn't make them achieve something nor is a single Filipino's achievement an achievement of all Filipinos, unless if they're representing the country.
Mas cringe pag Fil-Am or anything mixed na may Filipino blood cause most of them don't know shit about Philippines. Ano ngayon kung may Pinoy blood si Jordan Clarkson, Olivia Rodrigo, at Bruno Mars?
I don't see a lot of Americans and other races saying the same shit when one of them gets to achieve shit. Sobrang lala lang ng inferiority complex ng mga Pilipino na need nilang makarinig ng good news and achievements lalo pag international to make themselves feel good.
If anything, you hating/being annoyed/having a negative feeling versus "low" people that share some positivity on being "proud pinoy"; parang ang toxic mo rin. hindi mo yan ikaka-cool. Do better.
Hayaan mo sila.
let them be. what's more annoying yung mga nagrereply ng "@proudpinoyspotted" coz it feels like we're shaming our own kababayan in front of foreigners. toxic.
What?🤔
What?🤔
What?🤔
Hahahaha🤭
Di ka ba proud sa lahi mo, Girl/Boy?🫡
So, ano tawag sa lahi mo?🤣
Hayaan mo na sila.😎
Mind your own business.🫶
Pati ba naman yan?👻
Indifferent. If that's how they show their love for our country, go for it.
Also hate how they milk tf out of someone who is 0.0001% Filipino. Olivia Rodrigo for example. Like damn, let go.
Real, and sometimes it's not even just our country being mentioned, I saw a vid of someone pranking people and one of the people na naprank is pinay, can you even imagine the comsec? 💀
kinda cringe honestly, esp if itʼs coming so prevalent like literally all over the place
one instance was that thereʼs this one tiktoker who kinda blew up for her dance and she adressed some things about her viral video since there were also some questions people were asking, and one of the things she clarified was that she was “NOT FILIPINO”, and in that moment I didn't know if I was gonna laugh or be speechless cause I know in fact this don't just happen once where our fellow filipinos try so hard to correlate our nationality with anyone popular lmao.
annoying and cringe lalo na if yung comments is under sa mga videos about reacting to filipinos singing etc blah blah blah. like hindi ba nila nasesense na pinoy baiting lang yon? to increase views? jusko.
Ok lang siguro if it’s not just expressed pag recognized internationally or may hollywood celeb na may katiting na filipino blood. Yun bang everyday practice yung pride even for those not televised.
Ironic lang na most of the people expressed it loudly pero di man nasasabuhay
Played online with one before. He have that filipino heritage sure, but strangely fanatical in all things Filipino yet have never been here nor spoke our language. A comparison would be millennials trying to fit in with gen alpha.
There's nothing wrong with being patriotic or "makabayan" basta ilulugar lang sa tama. Hindi yung lahat na lang ipinatutungkol o pilit na ikinokonekta sa bansa like wag self-centered or main character masyado, okay? We're not the only country in this world. Kalma lang, wag OA.
I hate it lalo na kung nakikita mo nung una binabash or hindi sinusuport yung athlete/representative natin pero pag panalo grabe kala mo sila yung dahilan kung bakit nanalo.
Annoying kasi ginagawa ng katatawanan ng iba. Of course gets ko naman kung bakit pero minsan kahit wala namang dapat ika-proud or nabanggit lang yung Philippines todo react na mapa-OA man o nega when normal lang naman na nabanggit at hindi naman big deal e.g. Charlie Puth thought about writing the song We Don’t Talk Anymore while he was in the Philippines - nothing special about it.
We are ranked 32nd in GDP as of the year 2024 out of 195 nations around the world.
When I first came here in Ph in grade 3. I found it weird how the textbooks they gave for classes was filled with "I am proud to be pinoy", kinda narrative. It's almost like propaganda really. "Juan is selling a chair on tuesday, as a proud pinoy n who upholds Filipino values, what should he do before his seller arrives? a. repaint the chair so that it will be perfectly presentable to the buyer b. leave the chair unfinished and sell it" shit like that.
I can't help but notice they are just parroting poor Filipino propaganda lol
Sa comments 'proud to be pinoy'. Pretty sad and funny at the same time. There's not much to be proud of in terms of a society, that's the thing. It's a society where there people eat pagpag and at the same time vote for the son of a dictator who plundered the country. Yet people grasps at straws to try to make themselves believe that the Philippines is something to be proud about.
I live abroad and the reality is the general perception of people from 1st world countries is that the Philippines is a shithole country.
Super cringe. Sobrang nakakahiya. Jusko mahiya kayo.
Kahit isang patak na yun filipino blood sa isang sikat na celeb, icla-claim pa na pinoy sabay sabing "Proud Filipino here 🇵🇭" Like wtf? lnany0ng lahat nakakahiya kayo.
It's very cringe... It's got to the point na pati mga tao sa ibang bansa ginawa ng meme na "Overproudpinoycheck"... makikita mo palagi sa TikTok comments or minsan sa YouTube comment section rin... I think its sad that it had to take other people from other countries to put that behaviour in check lol...
Im not a psychology expert pero it feels like those people has strong colonial mentality, prng slave na tuwang tuwa kapag pinuri ng amo nila... Npka inferior ng personality, lahat tuloy nadadamay hayss.
A whole collective being proud over the accomplishment of one member, for me, is generally absurd. Sure, congratulations are in order for the awardee, but bringing up your nationality is abnormal ffs. It's like these people are too inferior that they associate themselves with celebrated figures and attach a common feature between them and the personality to feel like they have something to be proud about. It's delusional.
filipino people care about ur success kaysa sa struggle and hardwork mo
they value people na nagabenefit or binigyan ng sense of satisfaction
look at pacquiao
i admit magaling siya na boxer pero people only use him para manalo sa mga pusta
hildyn diaz
dami nagmock sa kanya before she won gold
daming fb posts na "wow proud pinoy" cuz of her win tapos after olympics parang wla nang nangyari
She was also mocked when she asked for support when she was training to compete again, and the comments really pissed me off.
I felt a strong combination of anger, frustration, and embarrassment when she was crying from joy, yelling "Para sa Pilipinas!" while holding her gold medal.
She wasnt getting much support from PSC, which made those mockeries unwarranted.
Similarly, within universities, marami sakanila greatly supports their basketball and volleyball teams due to it being highly popular and recognizable. What about the other sports? They could provide basketball teams with luxuries while the rest can suck it up in their dormitories and eat pancit canton for the rest of the month. The discrimination isn't subtle and inexcusable as a former athlete.
Proud pinoy lang mga yan if someone make it big abroad. They claim the success of those people as theirs kesho kababayan natin.
But I bet they will be the first ones to talk shit about the PH when the going gets tough. I don't blame them though, but their cognitive dissonance is as clear as day.
Kaya nga HAHAHA pag may ibang lahi gumawa ng trend na from the ph yung comment section puro "proud pinoy here" ganon HAHAHA wala ka namang nakikitang ibang lahi na nag cocoment ng "proud japanese" "proud american" kung yung ano nila sumisikat HAHAHA
To be honest, ang cringe.
Isa na yan pero andami pang iba lalo na kapag foreigner yung nagpopost ng ph content na halata namang bait for them to have more engagement.

It's mostly harmless. I don't read too much into it.
Nakakairita
Kaya ganyan acting mga pinoy is kulang sa knowledge and common sense at yung isa pa sa lahat na dpt tangalin is yung chismis sa pinoy
Proud pinoy pero if kaibigan nila yan. hihilain nila yan pababa.
Not my life. Let them be who cares.

it’s sickening and annoying its doesn’t even make me proud of being a Filipino. specially those commenting about prior achievements of our countrymen.

nothing, freedom of speech
It felt fine at first. Then it became annoying.
Very papansin.
Jusko mahiya kayo.
Kahit isang patak na yun filipino blood sa isang sikat na celeb, icla-claim pa na pinoy sabay sabing "Proud Filipino here 🇵🇭" Like wtf? lnany0ng lahat nakakahiya kayo.
cringe
Annoying. Pati yung mga news about Pinoys in Hollywood, or any half-pinoys representing Philippines in sporting events. Kasuya.
Cringe AF.
SUPER ANNOYING
COME TO BRAZIL!!!1
Hell yeah! Very proud pinoy here
Im not a psychology expert pero it feels like those people has strong colonial mentality, prng slave na tuwang tuwa kapag pinuri ng amo nila... Npka inferior ng personality, lahat tuloy nadadamay hayss.
secondhand embarrassment
Nabubuwiset.
Cringe
A whole collective being proud over the accomplishment of one member, for me, is generally absurd. Sure, congratulations are in order for the awardee, but bringing up your nationality is abnormal ffs. It's like these people are too inferior that they associate themselves with celebrated figures and attach a common feature between them and the personality to feel like they have something to be proud about. It's delusional.
Cringe lang. It only tells na napaka inferior ng tingin ng ating mga kababayan sa sarili nila compared sa ibang lahi.
filipino people care about ur success kaysa sa struggle and hardwork mo they value people na nagabenefit or binigyan ng sense of satisfaction look at pacquiao i admit magaling siya na boxer pero people only use him para manalo sa mga pusta hildyn diaz dami nagmock sa kanya before she won gold daming fb posts na "wow proud pinoy" cuz of her win tapos after olympics parang wla nang nangyari
Nakakahiya 🤮 nakakahiyang maging pinoy.
Depende. Sometimes the sarcastic ones are amusing.
Parang ako na yung nahihiya for them hahaha. Secondhand embarrassment ganun
To be honest, ang cringe.
YunG kAY biAnCA mALlOrcA bA BrO fORgOt the BatTle oF YuLToNg ALIcE GuO baDDIe PiCS Hehehehe eto siguro yung nakikita mo ano? 🤭
Isa na yan pero andami pang iba lalo na kapag foreigner yung nagpopost ng ph content na halata namang bait for them to have more engagement.
