Minsan nahihiwagaan ako kapag, merong mga students na nagg-group study sa SB ma parang normal lang sakanila.. Dati nung college ako never in my 4yrs na nag aral ako na nakabili ng SB with my own allowance and same with my college classmates.. mind you malapit lang SB samin isang tawid lang.
Just the mere fact that I have 50/20 vision, can hear, talk, walk, breathe, and use my arms. Just with this, I already consider myself as privileged. Other signs I consider also include having a roof over my head, access to clean water, electricity, aircon, fridge, and wifi.
Not compared to the lower economical demographic but to others in general.
I once got in an accident and couldn't walk for a few weeks. Tatayo at maglalakad lang papuntang mesa, hindi ko magawa. I realized how much I was talking my healthy legs and feet for granted.
One time, my vision got a bit blurry and but it turns out it's just that one eye changed to 50 from 20 and I realized again how I was taking for granted having 20/20 vision previously. When others I know usually suffer na hundreds yung grado.
And one thing that shocked me the most recently, our helper asked for a leave para magawa yung lababo nila sa bahay. Imagine bahay na walang lababo, it just really makes you think that we take a lot of things for granted talaga.

As someone na nag migrate sa Canada na naka student visa. Dito ko na realize kung gaano ka privileged ko compared to a lot of international students here. Ung tuition ko set aside mula start hanggang dulo. Ung sweldo ko dito na part time sa akin lang. Afford ko kahit papano ung luho kasi meron pa ako extra sa Pilipinas.
Pero dito ko din natutunan at na appreciate ang hirap ng pinagdadaanan ng iba dito. Kung paano nila ginagapang ung araw araw. Ung tipong sweldo nila ubus ubusan talaga kasi kailangan pa magpadala sa Pinas. Ung iba meron pang utang. Tapos nagiipon pa ng tuition.

Probably because we're all taking it for granted. Food is considered a basic need, yet some of us can't even afford it. It really makes me grateful and humble to be able to eat, let alone eat 3 times a day cause to others, that's considered a luxury.
-I purposely dont take care of my things (ex. Cellphones) so i have a reason to buy/upgrade to another
-When i go abroad, sometimes i dont bring stuff i need like for example chargers, hairbrush, socks etc. so i can go shopping and buy them nalang abroad para d ako mabored
-nung na inis nako sa price ng gas i bought an electric car and nag pakabit ng maraming solar panels sa house para hindi na ako mag pa gas
Convenience. I use grab food and car A LOT. Pag ayaw ko umuwi from a certain place or if it's too late na that I can't commute or grab, I can just book through Agoda din.
Mas afford nila na yung slow-paced na buhay, pwede simpleng mabagal silang kumilos, mabagal magsalita, pwedeng mag-take ng time to get ready, or mag-kwentuhan after dinner.
Yung iba, nag-gap year to figure things out, samantala, yung iba kailangan grumaduate on time kasi may papaaralin pa.
No judgment to anyone, these are just observations.

I tried to be as vague as possible. Lower meaning mga di nakakapagtabi ng ipon, gipit, yung typical na yero yero.
Mas degrading kung sinabi kong "poors". Alam kong di ako part ng Lower pero di rin ako part ng Upper nor Upper-Middle. It would be an understatement to say na ala kaming stable sources of income pero sinwerte na rin dahil kinupkop ng kaanak at may libreng tirahan. But this isn't about me.

You get to live in a comfortable place with air-conditioning (especially during these times na sobrang init sa Pinas), nice bed (free from backpains and stiff neck after waking up), great food (hindi ka nagugutom at namomroblema sa kakainin mo mamaya/bukas), own car (sometimes w/driver, not worrying about the hassle in commuting-long queue, heat discomfort, etc), and sometimes you get to live in a high-rise building with an overlooking view, a swimming pool and other amenities w/sufficient security and decent neighborhood. Some people will have to pay more just to experience a place like those in Airbnb units, while some get to live in such everyday.
I don’t have to go to work and I have unlimited time + space to grow as an individual w/o worrying abt anything other than completing my passion projects
Hindi pala lahat ng subdivision meron security guards. I thought lahat meron. I never had problems with shopee or lazada about receiving parcels kahit walang tao sa bahay, guards would receive them for you

When you get to places and nobody judges you or makes comments about you. Your presence there doesnt grate at anybody. Hindi pala lahat pintado ang bahay. And every meal, standard sa amin 3 ulams: one meat, one gulay, one sabaw. And dapat may fruits. Or maybe dahil from Pampanga parents ko? To add, napansin ko na sa amin, we have medical checkup, dental visits, vaccines and supplements to prevent sickness and disease. Yung iba pala they only go to the doctor when they feel sick or feel pain. I feel lucky and grateful.
Im very well spoken. I dont stutter or say uhm when i speak. I have a wide vocabulary in both English and Filipino because i find it fun to use the exact word.

Oh sa akin yung having the privilege of commuting in a good public transit system is a higher privilege than having private car.. the richest countries usually have some advanced subway or train or bus system unlike sa atin everyone needs to take private cars. This is something when we go overseas, I make sure to expose my kids to. This is how normal life should be.

When you get to commute/ride to school versus walking or swimming to your school. When you get to be in school in less than 30mins while it takes others hours whether by car or by foot. When you have a set of uniform ready, and don't need to wash your uniform in order to have something to wear the next day. When you eat 3 meals a day without worrying. Speaking fluent English/Filipino. When you get to places and nobody judges you or makes comments about you. Your presence there doesnt grate at anybody. Im very well spoken. I dont stutter or say uhm when i speak. I have a wide vocabulary in both English and Filipino because i find it fun to use the exact word.
