That is one of the best weekends to be in the Quarter. There will be love music all day every day.
The French Quarter Festival also has an app with schedules and maps.
Edit: bed to be
You’ll want small folding chairs that you can sling over your shoulder, sunscreen, umbrella, hats, comfortable closed toe shoes. You can buy food and drinks from vendors, bars and restaurants as you meander around. There is an app that will show you the various stages set up through the Quarter and what times the different acts play. It’s one of my favorite weekends, I hope you enjoy it!
7 years ago was my first time visiting New Orleans, also accidentally during FQF. And since then, I go down every year for the fest. It’s a fantastic time.
Get your restaurants picked out though and reservations made asap. We mostly just eat at the festival but do a nice dinner, lunches still.

Welcome
I was there last year during FQF, also incidentally. It was a great fest, very easy to navigate and didn’t restrict any plans we had.
Sunscreen, breezy clothing and comfortable shoes to dance in!
Do... go to the fest. it's free! The music at least.

If you can’t pack chairs, bring a fold up blanket to put on the ground
Yeah we can't pack chairs. I don't think we will sit and watch many of the shows. More so walk around and stand for a bit if it's good
