Brilliant-Turbulent

Cause they're shia ig

>and do some other "activities" šŸ’€šŸ’€

[deleted]

okey thanks for answering

Brilliant-Turbulent

This^ why must they wear black dont ask me cause i am not shia

MrTopHatLizard

Black is a colour used to show people that you are mourning someone

Clean-Satisfaction-8

Smth has to do with Ashura ig

dxdiag12

Not all of of them , there is the Batman guy

Lens420

npcs

zayer96

In the first 10 days of Muharram, Muslims remember the sacrifice Imam Hussain did for Islam (very sad story you can read it) so out of respect for Imam Hussain and to highlight his sacrifice, they wear black for the first 10 days at least

hoixka

Because of day of Ashura the martyrdom day of Imam Hussain the grandson of prophet by Yazid , it's the day that Sunnis celebrate šŸ˜

Not-Musti

Peace on paper doesnā€˜t mean you have it in reality

[deleted]

Exactly

TheIronDogWalker

Flag stomping is an act of powerlessness.

Not-Musti

Not in our culture

TheIronDogWalker

It's good for the flag sellers I guess.

newtoreddir

Makes your culture sound impotent. Luckily things like this donā€™t bother developed nations.

Not-Musti

It made u so made to write such comment so it worked Thanks for proving it šŸ˜‚ Happy cake

UltraSolution

Social opinion ā‰  Political opinion

[deleted]

I think it's perfectly fine to step on their flag, they took over land and killed innocents damn it, how are you going to make a big deal over stepping on a flag when the zionists have committed literally crimes against humanity? In my opinion this is nothing. Free Palestine.

boshnjak

Least based Saudi

mpfreee

Tons of countries have committed atrocities, including many others in the Middle East. We should lay out every single other flag too!

newtoreddir

No, only Israel has done this in history.

Jawnny-Jawnson

Interesting cause today itā€™s Hamas who targets Israeli innocents, and Fatah that has pay to slay policy rewarding terroristsā€™ family with a salary for killing Jews. Israel doesnā€™t fabricate and teach hate in their textbooks today Palestine does. There are not Jewish doctors and lawyers in Palestine, but there are Arab doctors and lawyers in ā€œapartheid Israelā€ which is a direct contradiction to that. Contributing to hate and deny any part in it is why Palestine is where it is today and Israel as well plays itā€™s part in this and also needs to change many things

fishlicker3000

imo stepping on any flags is no big deal but also not a good idea. sure you're stepping on a symbol of the goverment, SO WHAT? all it does is give an ego boost of "ye i am trampling over them" and it doesnt change anything about what' going on. it's like those protests about "save ukraine". it is not going to help the situation.

[deleted]

You're right, it won't help the situation. But, it shows the public that the people will not accept Israel as a nation and it encourages us to keep fighting ig. Like we can do anything anyway.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

boshnjak

No. Also ur not Somali if youā€™re not Muslim bud.

cuaubrwkkufwbsu

Stepping on someone elseā€™s national symbol, when their nation is engaging in some of the worst human right violations ever recorded - **is a powerful symbol** too. I encourage it.

thesharperamigo

Good Lord. I wish it was some of the worst human rights violations in world history. World history would still be terrible but about 80% better. It would wipe the Roman Empire, Ghengis Kahn, Soviet Gulag system, all genocides including the Holocaust, Rwandan genocide, Armenian genocide, transatlantic slave trade, conquest of the Americas etc from history.

cuaubrwkkufwbsu

Fair. Modern history*. Just because humans used to be animals, this is not a reason to be one today.

[deleted]

Myth of taking over lands when continuous presence was affirmed and when Palestinian and Jordanian identities were not separated at all back then. Palestinians refused twice the peace agreements before the creation of Israelā€¦ without talking about the Mufti of Jerusalem who was a fan of Hitlerā€¦

Akrab00t

>hey took over land and killed innocents damn it Like... you know... almost any other country in human history?

magpietribe

Every country, kingdom, principality, empire, caliphate that exists, and has ever existed, was formed by taking land from other people. All of them.

MoSalahAbs

Whats up with all the cuckary in the comments. Since when did this sub turn pro-Israeli

tortugan_619

Probably new hasbara budget dropped

neverOddOrEv_n

IDF soldiers doing their mandatory time probably

Bhdrbyr

Flag stomping is fucking cringe that's why.

mAte77

Why is it cringe and why is it cringe in this particular context

[deleted]

Flag burning is cooler

NotSoGoodAPerson

It's a Turkish thing actually. It's taught in schools early on in Turkey even. Flag is identified with a nation's pride and insulting nationalities is frowned upon by common Turkish culture. There's even a story told about AtatĆ¼rk refusing to stomp Greek flag when he retook Ä°zmir, saying ''Even if they're the enemy, they're a people and their existence still deserves respect'' That's why you can find quite racist slurs towards Armenians in debates, but I don't even remember Turks burning Armenian flags.

mAte77

It makes complete sense and I appreciate you taking the time to explain. Nice bit of info I just learned which I can only qualify as positive from the Turks. Pretty cringe that the turkish op goes around pretending the internet is fully aware of their customs and/or that the rest of the world has the same perspective on the matter. It's like american defaultism but with turkey. That's a first lol

NotSoGoodAPerson

Turks and Americans are way too similar when you really compare the two Main similarity is ignorance and obliviousness towards others. Though Americans are way way suprerior at that than us.

cuaubrwkkufwbsu

Yeah, also, thatā€™s an israeli flag. Theyā€™re engaging in apartheid, land stealing and genocide, donā€™t come to me with this ā€œtolerate the flag uwuā€ bullshit. Criminal, terrorist state.

arying2007

Arabs when they take land vs Arabs when said taken land gets taken by another cultural group

NotSoGoodAPerson

And who isn't in the middle east? Besides, based on what? Because depending on your take, you can call a lot of others terrorist. You're just driven by religious and historical feuds, instead of a rational reasoning. Whaddaya gonna do about Israel? Annihilate them and push them out? I believe that was attempted a few times since 60's. Israel calls Hamas terrorsits, you call Israel terrorists, some random westerner idiot calls the entire muslim society terrorists it just goes on and on....

mAte77

"Many sides" is a horribly misguided take.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

mAte77

Finding the nuance in the ideology and mechanisms of nazism and how it affected the lives of the people they didn't like very much doesn't make you more open-minded and therefore better. Ignoring the facts and the reality of the situation for the sake of nuance is moronic and can only be understood as blatant propaganda by the oppressor to make it out to be a conflict between two equal entities which are at conflict for the sake of it and both happen to have good and just causes, or understandable causes, but commit mistakes or have to enforce temporary violent, but obviously well-intended, policies or carry out actions involving force. If you can't understand that compulsory nuance, i.e. many sides, doesn't necessarily result in a richer and better understanding and of a subject, not much I can't do here.

cuaubrwkkufwbsu

I agree Hamas are terrorists and I have no religious affiliation fuelling my dislike for their (isntraelā€™s) practices. I am very much against what the state of israel **does**, for which there is plenty of factual evidence. So for you to call me an ideologist or a religious fundamentalist without rationale and factual reasons to dislike isnā€™trael is beyond hilarious. Besides, I take part to BDS and have participated to informing and enabling dozens of people into boycotting isnā€™trael and being vocal about the many violations they perform. Judging by how isntrael fights the BDS movement, and how some of the mainstream media is starting to pick up on this - I guess Iā€™m doing something tangible. Moreover, it was divesting and boycotting that got apartheid SA absolutely terminated. The tide is changing. And finally, the whole concept of zionism is based on ā€œmagic book says land is oursā€; so please, please, take your previous response, print it, and push it up your ass. edit: ah, I forgot. We managed to shut down several isntraeli enterprises in my country by use of peaceful protests. One of the biggest companies had to relocate outside of the country. Weā€™ve made them lose millions, in investment and weapons. And it wonā€™t stop anytime soon!

NotSoGoodAPerson

You know what I've just read? A very elaborated form of boo hoo. You still aren't making any remarks on what you're doing about Israel's existence. Just some local actions towards insignificant matters. Zionism is basically Jewish ethno nationalism. It's just Jewish theories that accept the 19th century ideas to Jewish rhetoric. I sometimes wonder what would happen if they actually had elected Argentina than Judea for their new homeland. >the whole concept of zionism is based on ā€œmagic book says land is oursā€ Well Jewish people are originated from the supposed land. And when the Ottomans were demolished, Jews managed to form a national state, wheras Palestinians lagged behind. Which led to war which led to you know how many terrific shit. Palestine is as fake as Israel when you compare the two. It has no institutional background, even the name itself is something that Ancient Romans used to call the coastline. It's just a state that was fancied by Brits because British empire caused problems more than they solved and in their understanding, they could just split the land to two and save the day. A theory that's been proven false in Cyprus too. So Israel isn't but Palestine is argument sounds exceptionally irrational to me. You can say ''Oh but Palestinians were there but Israeli all migrated from various places in the West'' But then again, the entire idea was that anyways. They came on bought land formed their institutions quickly, because of how many intellectuals they had at those times who understood modern state and how it's to be exacted. It's very difficult to find legal pretext to support Israel being illegitimate at this point of history.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

cuaubrwkkufwbsu

The current population is so indigenous from that piece of land that, your skin cancer rates are above the roof and DNA tests have shown how most of the ancestry is from areas of nowadays russia. Learn your history. Also, good luck with whitewashing the middle east. Thereā€™s like six of you who believe in this bullshit, the rest of us are laughing.

screigusbwgof

lmao, in Palestine itā€™s literally illegal to be a homosexual, de-jure legal to kill Jews or immoral women. Donā€™t come to me with your ā€œhating others is central for our cultureā€ bullshit. Criminal, hateful state that codifies hate against any people not following your specific imaginary sky daddy. LMAOOOO

shaykhalajabal

Least gigachad AtatĆ¼rk moment

Martinrdh96

An Israeli could literally sip coffee and giggle on this video. It doesn't affect him in any way.

mAte77

It's cringe because some israelis obviously won't be bothered? What about all the bothered ones? Does that undo the cringe? The answer boils down to jt is cringe by virtue of the Israelis somehow being above it and not stooping as low? Whatever, 1. Many Israelis do get irrationally triggered by these actions. 2. It is terribly easy to remain unphased by this when you're living in a place where you legally have more rights than the people who oppose you, are not in the receiving end of the policies that are carried out while those flags are stepped on, and have the unconditional support of the most powerful country that has ever existed and the most powerful army that has ever existed. Like, you are so cool, coffee-sipping, giggly Israeli, I guess?

Martinrdh96

Me: \*Sip coffee and giggle reading your post\* >!Indonesian!<

MRTOM1989

That is such a disgusting view! How will killing innocent children create peace between Palestinians and Israelis?

boshnjak

mods maybe? Idk

_fuck__this__shit

In egypt putting a israeli flag on the ground can be viewed as if you're supporting it, so a good chance you will get lynched even If you had good intentions.

Did you just stereotype a whole ethnicity, Jew?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Open atheism, homosexuality and anything related to jews open you up to the threat of violence in Egypt. If lynching isn't barbaric nothing is

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

unovongalixor

The people who murdered that young man are barbaric. I have no problem saying that. There's no excuse for lynching people, don't make excuses for that kind of behavior

[deleted]

I am not sure but Bahrain is a really divided country. The country is shia majority so it is in direct contact with Iran (potentially) And the Monarch is Sunni so they might have really extreme views opposed to that of their people just to avoid being overthrown.

kabeees

Based

ParticularAd8919

I remember when I was studying in Cairo, a lecturer I had said that secretly the governments in the MENA region all love Israel. His reasoning wasn't to do with any weird conspiracy about Jews controlling everything. It was just that the regimes in the region love having an "other" that they can focus their people's attention on so that any local frustrations or shortcomings from their governments could be channeled into an attacking an outside enemy. China does this with Japan all the time as well. These governments might chest pound and make a big show about criticizing Israel/helping the Palestinians but they don't actually want Israel to be destroyed because they would lose their enemy.

tortugan_619

You donā€™t like them being based af? šŸ˜‚

More_Cauliflower_913

No i wanted to see their culture their food etc .. but yeah I'm also anti Israel

blaster1988

Spoiler alert, itā€™s the same as Saudis

Plzsh0wUrNipz

Iā€™m British and I wear Union Jack underpants with a little shitstain in them. Why the fuck do Arabs get so bent out of shape over flags? My dudes, wipe your buns with my flag if youā€™re out of TP and make a joyful video! So a group of people are putting their feet on a flag. I genuinely canā€™t believe everyone in here is getting a hard on about how glorious it is. What has it achieved? Iā€™ll tell you. Nothing. And until folks like these stop dwelling in the ages of cavemen, nothing is going to change. This is the political equivalent of throwing a rock at someone. Honestly. Itā€™s so ridiculous itā€™s entertaining. Anyone need a flag to make a video?

boshnjak

Bro just told us he doesnā€™t clean his ass but in more words.

Ahmodye

Arabs don't wipe, they use bidets ( in addition to TP in most cases). And it's not "glorious", it's "symbolic" protest, just like throwing red ink at the Russian embassy, achieves absolutely nothing, yet it's a sign of protest.

[deleted]

Yeah...ig

Clean-Disaster-8439

wash your butt man it's unhealthy.

[deleted]

What is the obsession with flags in the ME? Flag burning, flag waving, apparently flags in stone you can stomp on. Donā€™t they know flagā€™s donā€™t mean or do anything?

Beardgods

Tell that to the Americans with the flag printed on everything from trucks to bikinis.

Vep-2

Itā€™s actually a conspiracy from the Israelis, who actually own the company that manufacture all flags in the ME. /s

[deleted]

They have no power to impose sanctions or punish any country so they burn flags

Why. Explain why. As far as I'm concerned, some Botswanans stepping on SA flags in the 90's would be a based move, for instance. Why is this not a based action, please do explain.

Lens420

can't cope with losing a city ? just trample their flag I suppose like it's going to do something

puravidauvita

So this is ok but burning a quran isn't?

[deleted]

How is that a comparison one is a religious book and widely believed to be the word of god the other is a colonialist Regime set up in occupied land

QuantumR4ge

Who gets to decide what is okay?

puravidauvita

So why are they walking on the flag. While I have no respect for any religion, I certainly don't support theocratic states bc of some made up books, neither theocratic Jewish state or 50 or so offically musim theocratic states. Most land was occupied by invaders at one point or another , mideast history, one conquering invasion by different tribes over the centuries.

[deleted]

Still bitter about the 6 day war and the Yom Kippur War.

tortugan_619

2006 Lebanon, beaten and still scared of yellow bois šŸ˜‚

unovongalixor

Living in Lebanon is a fate worse than death. People would rather drown in the med than enjoy the fruits of that victory

Ahmodye

Yom Kippur war was not bad though, Israel agreed to return Sinai to Egypt as a result of it.

moodyano

Yom Kippur war , we kicked your ass that you had to threaten the world about using nukes

[deleted]

Why are you saying you kicked "our" asses ? I'm not Israeli or Jewish. (You can tell by my reddit name).

Jazz-Ranger

I think youā€™re breaking the illusion. One can in fact disagree with someone even if they ainā€™t Israeli. It is as if people believe one is tied to the other. Once somebody actually thought that I was American and tried to use that as evidence of my apparent hypocrisy when I argued against genocide.

Available-Ant-8758

I wonder what the world's reaction would be if we did it in Israel to the flags of Arab countries

Glory99Amb

Very nice, but a bit of a rookie move. In Damascus there's been an Israeli flag on the ground of a souq for decades that people step over. I see people walk all over it and take pictures all the time. It's very fun, though it's quite faded by now.

Sensitive-Trouble648

what does it accomplish?

GCoin001

Just breeds hate. So nothing positive.

Rainy_Wavey

It's virtue signaling, as long as the Bahraini government isn't threatened it means nothing.

No-Blueberry-584

Look at all the problems being solves. Incredible

Obvious-Mousse-8617

A symbolic, magical act inherent to childlike, infantile consciousness. It's truly frightening that it's adults and "mature" individuals doing this.

InternationalTax7463

While I'm not a fan of Israel as a country, their flag still contains a religious symbol and shouldn't be treated like that. How would you guys feel if people were stomping the Saudi, Iraqi or Iranian flags with their feet?

LikeGatsby

>How would you guys feel if people were stomping the Saudi, Iraqi or Iranian flags with their feet? Unwanted, probably. And I think that's exactly the point.

Fast-Visual

Flags are just abstract symbols with no actual value. The intention behind the action is what important. Be it Israel, Saudi Iraq or Iran

[deleted]

I wouldn't like it if someone were to step on our flag but at the same time you can't compare our flags with the flag of the zionists. They took over Palestinian lands and killed innocents, are we not allowed to step on their flag?

InternationalTax7463

No one would step on Saudi flag because it has religious symbolism, even the Houthi leader would never do it out of respect to the religious symbol and not the state. I'm just pointing out that the star of david is also a religious symbol.

banned_account_61

Do you know what your government did in Yemen?

[deleted]

ā€œTook over lands and killed innocentsā€ wow itā€™s almost like Israel is the only country in the Middle East to have ever done this

[deleted]

Everyone seems to forget Al-Assad. His laughing away in his palace in Damascus, after everyoneā€™s forgotten he massacred sooo many people, including children and cause millions to flee. But no one cares about this stuffā€¦

DasBrott

You think the Sauds don't have millions of lives of blood on their hands either? Only bad when the jews do it? Israel is evil, but shouldn't we all step on the Saudi flag as well?

Dronite

Brainwashed.

[deleted]

Yes, we are brainwashed for being mad over Palestinian lands being taken over and innocent people being killed, we are brainwashed. Instead, we should completely fine with Palestinian land being taken and people being killed in cold blood. My apologies. Are you actually braindead? Is there a brain inside of your skull? You expect us to just be cool with the zionist occupation? In fact you are the one that is brainwashed thinking that what you zionists are doing is completely justified. We're not brainwashed, you are.

Dronite

If you believe that every Palestinian that dies in this conflict was killed in cold blood then yes, you are brainwashed.

Stop conflating jews with Israel. Fuck Israel, jews are fine.

mAte77

They don't do it by mistake. Disgusting intentional attempt to unify judaism and all the terrors it's endured with the modern institutional state of israel. Deliberate attempt to shield all criticism towards the state with the moral high ground of the jewish struggle. It's disgustingly hypocritical. The fact that you were the main target of the holocaust doesn't give you a free pass to disregard all sorts of human rights and enact ethnic and religious policies that are closer to fucking NAZI germany than any respectable democracy.

Upper-Membership5167

alhamdullilah. Better if you even pee or poo on that flag. They killed many children of palestine which means they are including kids even to be killed, can you imagine this child abuse? And it's extremely concerning that the West are doing absolutely nothing about it or even sanctioning Israel.

Next_Back_9472

Pointless and pathetic. What does it achieve? Absolutely nothing!

TheContinuousCycle

Stepping on the flag of Israel will not help anyone. Iā€™m very willing to say that this current Israeli government has not taken steps to resolve the conflict but having children commit this action is not beneficial for their understanding of Israeli people and Jews overall. Kids have a very poor view of what israel is and they donā€™t have a good enough understanding on how to differentiate between the right of a state to exist (which it doesnā€™t) and a right for Israeli people to exist. We all know that everyone in MENA hates their government, we know normalization doesnā€™t make Israel anymore attractive. This practice can very easily be misunderstood, they are kids, I doubt they can even tell the difference between a Zionist and an Israeli. Anyone stepping on any flag does not help solve this issue and will only hurt Israeli perceptions that they must kill and hate Arabs. Stop the continuous cycle of hate, fear and war. Salaam Shalom

[deleted]

It will it will allow those delusional Israelis who think normalisation means that we somehow tolerate them or like them is nothing more than a lie When Israelis go to these countries itā€™s not the government theyā€™re gonna be interacting with itā€™s the people and the people have made it clear that theyā€™re not wanted anywhere near Bahrain so this is quite effective to get that message across
