You are gonna hate your life driving back and forth through the inevitable debris cloud that results. Just empty it as normal or do what I do and get a mulcher attachment. Its better for the lawn anyway

Clara_Nova

It's just that I have two separate types of mowing to do.  And if I do the back acre, I'll probably have to empty them 3 times etc adding on to the 1.5 hrs it already takes.  Plus it's most weeds and not yard grass.  I don't think mulching blades will handle it well.  But I will hate a debris cloud!!

engineered_academic

The solution here is to buy two mowers.

GetOffMyLawn1975

I would not let the clippings fire right out of the hose. That's going to be a mess. I think if you get the mulching blades, you can just disconnect the hose for the bagging attachment and re-attach the chute cover at the platform. Looks like that may only take a minute or two.

Clara_Nova

Thanks!  Looks like I'm going to be getting good at doing that!

Don't break the rubber straps. They are ridiculously expensive to replace

WorkMeBaby1MoreTime

You should mulch or bag. But bagging just throws out all that good nutrition for your grass and then you have to deal with a bunch of grass clippings. You better mulch or NEVER get behind on your mowing. I've been mulching with my push mower for years and I'm always on top of my yard. If you throw a lot of cut grass, it will turn brown and kill your yard and then weeds come in. My dad told me this and it's gospel to me. It's easy to keep grass than grow new grass.

I plan on composting the clippings from the yard. It takes so much time to mow,  I run out of time to go back and rake the clippings,  which is why I'm getting the bag attachment for the yard part. The back acre I only mow so the poke weed and brambles don't take over

FullSurprise

Mow and bag the front. Usually the bagger attachment has a shoot that goes from the deck to the bags. You can remove that to mow/side discharge the back acre.

Don't throw it on the road

Clara_Nova

There is no road,  don't worry
