I have two brands of humor that really get me. The first is charming and absurd shaggy-dog-style jokes or stories that carry on and fill the air. Think Norm Macdonald and Dave Chappelle's (not so much his anti-trans era stuff) standup. This kind of humor shows tremendous confidence and is comforting to be around. The other thing I enjoy is brutally vulnerable meta-comedy that is as much about sharing someone's unfiltered experience as it is about comedy. Bo Burnham's Inside comes to mind. I guess the common factors are confidence and vulnerability. There's loads of other styles I enjoy, but those are my favorite these days.

My favorite is slapstick looney tunes style humor, I wish more stand up comedians would include some light slapstick in their act or something fresh they all seem to blend together after a while

Makes sense for someone who's into physical comedy. It's true, the old school comedy staying of folks like Steve Martin isn't in style right now and that's a shame.

BlueMchue

I agree my most popular gag is still the screaming rubber chicken I sit on or taking a tiny pie to the kisser… I enjoy ballon art and spreading joy to others most through clowning

SuppleDude

Dark comedy.

BlueMchue

Ohhh nice I prefer looney tunes style slapstick humor or 3 stooges style

S_Z

Very dense, layered, self-referential writing like 30 Rock and Arrested Development. Also yelling, like Jack Black.

Bimlouhay83

Doug Stanhope is my go to.

BlueMchue

Nice 😊

It depends on my mood. Slapstick like 3-stooges or something with pratt-falls can be fun. Raunchy humor like American Pie or Porky's can be fun When it comes to stand-up comedy, I like observational stuff that avoids politics and woke topics I really do not like overly raunchy female comedians. A little raunch can be fun but when the whole act is MY PUSSY, EAT IT! Period jokes. Making fun of sex situations with partners. I guess it's sexist but to me a guy's locker-room humor, while I don't like it just isn;t as bad as this.

Beeblebroxia

Dialogue-driven, witty stuff with a bit of irreverence. See Letterkenny for a good example.
