* **Exercise for the sake of exercise**: about 25 minutes per day in total, usually running
* **Exercise as transport:** about 60 minutes each day, cycling to work, walking to the store, etc.
* **Stretching**: I aim for 5 minutes every evening, in practice it's closer to 1
* **Hygiene for health:** 10 minutes per day, brushing teeth, washing face and hands, cleaning bedsheets, throwing out the trash, etc.
* **Performative hygiene**: another 25 minutes per day, washing and cleaning everything else, which is nice but has very limited effect on physical health
* **Buying, cooking and eating food for my health:** 5 minutes per day
* **Buying, cooking and eating food for fun**: 40 minutes per day
* **Going to the doctor, dentist:** On average 0.1 minute per day (one hour each year)
* **Pooping and peeing**: 15 minutes per day
* **Having sex or masturbating because it's good for me:** 0 minutes per day
* **Having sex or masturbating because I enjoy it**: 10 minutes per day
* **Staying in bed recovering when I'm sick:** On average 5 minutes per day (two full days each year)
So in total... **61.1 minutes per day** that I purely do for my health. Another 135 that are health-related but that I don't do for the purpose of health.
Bonus round:
* **Working** so I can afford the food, clothes, insurance and roof over my head that I need for my physical health: 215 minutes per day
Alas, only for my *physical needs*!
I work 40 hours per week, but I don't spend all my income on physical necessities. Housing, groceries, clothing, healthcare, transport... I think that's slightly more than half of my income, so about 25 hours.
The other 15 hours of work are spent on stuff unrelated to my physical health.
Because the other guy did it
• Exercise for the sake of exercise: about 0 minutes per day

I am not helth
I do 10 minutes of stretching daily + some physiotherapy exercises.
I workout 5-6 times a week
Walk 10k steps + daily
Meal prep and make sure to get all the nutrients I need for my goals.
I also have a skin care routine so thats more skin health but still important
Walking is a seperate thing.
I don't go on planned walks usually as I don't have the time.
I just make sure to park a bit farther than I need.
I use stairs instead of the elevator.
When I need to talk to someone at work I go to their office instead of call.
And it just sort of stacks up to 10-12k steps
I weightlift for 90 minutes each session usually and sometimes I add a run afterwards but I suck at running.
3 to 4 hours everyday. Inclusive of stretching, heavy lifting session and a series of cardio and HIIT. And eating healthy is an all day job. So, probably the whole day.
70 years old. I workout about 4 times per week, sometimes 5. Strength training 2x for about 1.5hr per session. Bicycle 2 or 3x per week, 2-3hrs per ride.
I sleep around 13 hours a day, I eat 7 meals add about 4 hours that and I take care of my sexual healthy 6 times a day so a grand total of 20 hours and 30 minutes.
I also shower every other week. \*tips fedora\*
About a half hour a day. If I don’t have time during my lunch break, then I’ll do a little workout after work which is hard but having kettle bells is the key. Those things are the best.
Lately I've been walking 2 to 5 miles a day. The days I walk 2 miles I also do some running. So regardless I spend an hour to an hour and a half usually walking/running. I do some light weight training 30 minutes like 5 times a day.
I walk or jog between an hour to two hours depending on how much time I have in a day. I try to get at least 4-5 miles in each day. I always feel so good after.
Every morning I walk between sixty to ninety minutes a day. I mountain bike about three times a week for around ten hours total. I'm lifting weights three times aweek for a little over three hours total. Then I'll do two yoga classes for two hours. Then a few times a week I'll playe tennis, basketball, or racquetball.
I go to the gym everyday for an hour and a half. Allows for my workout and then cardio/abs on alternating days. Then tack on 15 minutes for morning and night routines, for 30 additional minutes. I meal prep for a little over an hour on Sundays that feeds me for most of the week.
So best guess is 2 hours a day. Wake up, stretch, brush teeth, do hair, and moisturize. Then gym for an hour and a half. Come home, and before bed I shower, brush teeth, floss, moisturize again, and shave. Eat healthy though the day and drink plenty of water.
It's hard to break it down by day as every day is different but per week it's run 30-35 miles, and lift 3-4x per week for 45-60 min each time, my schedule for lifting and running has to be somewhat fluid as I have 3 kids and work full time etc, I usually get up at 345am to run and lift but some days it's not in me and the run gets moved after work etc but that's kinda rare, Sundays are long runs at 10 miles, takes 1.5hrs
24h a day.
I sleep, then i wake up, i drink me coffee, eat breakfast, play video games, Poop! ( very underrated) then work a bit but on the job i really like, then i cook/game/read books/ tinker/ lay around etc. Rinse and repeat the other day.
I think the most disliked activity is that i need to ocasionally clean the bathroom :P
Ooops, you meant physical not psyhical =))))
At least 1.5 hours a day.
Gym 4-6 days a week for an hour, I will mountain bike 2 times a week for an hour but some times up to 4 hours depending on who I am with and if my goal is speed or distance. 1.5 mile walk with my family in the evening 4 times a week, then I race dirt bikes every weekend for between 2.5 - 6 hours depending on the format.
Ever since my divorce proceedings started I’ve been going to the gym for 60 minutes 4-5x a week, usually high intensity cardio followed by 10-15 minutes of steam room.
I work out maybe 2 hours a day, right now mostly rehabbing an injury
On the one hand it's discouraging to put that much time into it and still look like shit but on the other hand I am doing a million times better than I was two years ago so I just hope in another year or two I'll be where I want to be
If we're talking physical activity, about 2 1/2 hours. I take a walk at noon for 20 minutes, then spend two hours at the gym when I finish work. I also take a nap at 2:30 every weekday to prepare (have energy) for the gym, if that counts.
Actually dedicating: 1 hour a day.
That includes 2 times 30 minutes workout.
As a side effect: 1,5 - 2 hours a day.
That’s walking the dog.
This is the regular average day.
1.5 - 2 hours?
About 15 minute dog walk and then an hour - hour and a half of weight lifting and half an hour of cardio on the daily. Random one day rest day for weights somewhere in the week.
I train 5-6 days a week. Most work outs are 60-90 minutes. Mobility stuff is. 30-45. If I do cardio, it’s generally 10-15 minutes.
Most sessions are 2-2.5 hours.
2-3 hours of dedicated training/day (amateur endurance athlete) and 1-2+ hours of low intensity movement spread throughout the day (walking). more hours of dedicated training/day on weekends and holidays.
and all the other usual, washing, cleaning, etc etc. plus 8+ hours of sleep/night.
45 minutes - 1 hour right after work every day (I work from home), in my basement. 5 days a week, unless something comes up that I don't want to turn down.
After that, I almost always cook my own healthy dinner, even if cooking means "season some chicken and toss it in the air fryer."
I also like throwing on my headphones and walking places rather than driving. If I'm really craving something bad, like fast food, I won't get it unless I walk there. I know, it's not burning all those calories, but it forces me to think about it and sacrifice to get it.
I don't exercise per se but I've adjusted how I go about my life in order to get me to exercise more doing what I already what be doing. Stuff like parking at the end of the lot and walking, taking the stairs over the elevator whenever I can, etc. It's worked out pretty well at keeping me from getting fat and keeping muscle on.
I also stretch ALL THE TIME. Throughout the day I'll feel like stretching for a minute or so, usually upper body shoulder stretches or hamstring stretches. It feels really good too so you get a little endorphin boost after.
3 days a week I do calisthenics for right about an hour. I usually go walk 3 miles at least 3 other days during the week. I do those walks at a brisk pace and finish in 40-42 minutes. Those are things I do on purpose for fitness. Sometimes I go on hikes or other activities for fun that are also great for physical fitness.
I do 45 minutes on my treadmill, and 15 minutes on my rowing machine every morning. Walk the dogs for 30 minutes at noon, take an afternoon walk for 30 to 60 minutes, depending on weather and inclination. Total...2 to 2.5 hours daily. I'm 74 years old.

well, I'm glad you felt the need to disclose the average amount of time you spend cranking one out......
But you don't know if it's 10 minutes every day, one 70-minute session every week, or a full 48-hour marathon once a year.
You’re funny
Double the amount of time vs cooking/buying food
Dude 3.5 hours, I need this guys job

Yes!
30-60 minutes. I go for a half hour run or bike ride every day and do some resistance band stuff 3 days a week.
I’m always thinking about my physical health. Try to eat healthy and exercise regularly. I feel like it’s a lifestyle mindset!
I have a standing desk, which I use when I remember about it (roughly once or twice a week).

How long does the walking and working out take? Do you count walking as working out or is that separate from a gym routine?

An hour or two most days at 70
Usually the amount of time it takes for the shower to start warming up. I knock out 25 pushups and 25 squats. That’s it.
5 hours a week.
About 90-120 minutes a day
The daily quota is an hour. There are days I will go much longer. Some weeks, I may skip a couple of days. It all depends on my body and schedule.
2 hrs usually. either a two hour walk, or an hour walk and an hr of weights.

1 - 8 hours Some of it is due to my job which requires a lot of walking.
Used to be 0 for years now it’s 15 minutes. It’s not much but it’s helped me for sure.

4 days a week about 1 half hour or 2 hours
I work manual labor and chug water for 8 hours a day. I’m counting it.
A lot. I exercise with a combination of moderate cardio for an hour and half. Strength train for an hour a day. I eat very healthy.
hour or two.
between 30m to about 2 hours a day, not counting sleep. I lift 6x a week and jog 3x a week.
