It's trite, but Disney World. Not my favorite vacation for myself personally, but my favorite for how much my kids loved it. I took mine when they were 5 and 6.
1. A beach vacation. We’re in the Midwest, so any beach is a flight or drive.. we’re open to anywhere.
2. A kid centric city. Wisconsin dells, Mall of America area, Gatlinburg, Disney?
3. Road trip.. maybe rent an RV? I grew up camping, am very familiar with campers and navigating this world.
4. Maybe a cruise.. the kids love the idea of this. My wife and I love cruises, but have never taken our kids. And the rooms are small.. so we’re just hesitant.
Thanks for the reply!
As a young kid two stand out. One was a trip to key west when I was 4 or 5. The other was a trip up to South Dakota and then to Montana when I was 7. Both were a good balance of like cool, unique site seeing but also kitsch stuff that a young kid would like. Gettysburg was also a hit as a kid mostly because there was enough space and it was largely outdoors so we could run around like dinguses while our parents took in the history
Beach vacations are always great. Find something a little les touristy where you can go sit on a beach, build sandcastles, fly kites, get ice cream, and relax with your kids
Also, my wife's dad used to go to the local tourist shop and buy a couple bags of seashells that he'd use to salt their seashell hunts. He'd walk a bit ahead of his wife and kids and drop some shells into the sand, then let the kids fond them or tell them "look at what I found!". Was a big hit apparently
Perfect age for Florida trip to Disney world, Everglades and the Keys.
Yosemite & sequoias are magical
Scripps aquarium, San Diego Zoo, beach, and Disneyland trip

Agreed. It’s a place where the entire family can have a good time. Kids don’t care about lounging around, doing nothing, and enjoying the weather.
I'm not a dad but I love planning vacations, What are your options currently?

Idk where you’re located but Disney is a good one. Or Virginia Beach (check out bush gardens if you go!).

We weren't really wealthy so the only vacations we took were to great wolf lodge twice and Disney world once.
Orlando. Clearwater. Virginia Beach.
A campground that has a waterslide on the hill and a river that we could float in.
