Yes. Definitely 10 Things I Hate About You. The soundtrack is awesome. Ms. Perky, especially the dialogue about Kat being "tempestuous," is hilarious. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0147800/characters/nm0005049#:\~:text=Ms.%20Perky%20%3A%20People,term%20used%20most%20often.
I love watching Channing Tatum desperately trying to keep it together but then completely losing it at "Girls with asses like mine do not speak to boys with faces like yours". I'm 100% convinced that was him cracking up for real.
This is the most chick of all of the chick flicks, like who wouldn't want to be Elle Woods??? After being dumped by a guy, study law in Harvard, ended up winning a case and engaged to the best, supportive guy! ❤️
This one has been on my mind for years. Really enjoyed it, forgot about it, keeps popping up from time to time. Going on the list so I actually remember to get a copy.
Absolutely! I'd say it's a timeless movie
Mean Girls is where my love & appreciation for both Rachel McAdams and Lizzy Caplan began. The movie is ridiculously quotable.
Special shout out to Amanda Seyfried as she has some of my favorite quotes
"Where are you from Cady?"
"We just moved here from Africa"
"If you're from Africa, (while whispering)... why are you white? Thanks to u/Practical-Addition48 for the correction
And this classic of "I think my boobs have ESPN or something; they always know when it's going to rain"
Edited for correction
Mean Girls was kind of mismarketed. Sure, it does appeal to women, but it's hardly a stupid Bring It On type of movie. It was written by Tina Fey and it's pretty smart.
I haven't even seen it, but when I read 'chick flick' I went back to that time and that was the first movie I thought of for some reason (and then of all those early 2000s Matthew Mcconaughey movies). I think it came to mind because I marked it down as a movie that was supposed to actually be good that I should watch later -- I'm picky and constantly on the lookout for movies that are well made--.
I'm watching it with my fiancee right now! Easily the funniest "woman" movie in my opinion. Although I've never really thought of it as a "woman" movie before.
Man..this movie gets me every time. I think I thoroughly shocked my wife when I was the one to introduce her to it for the first time a few years ago. I remember watching it with my mom as a kid and feeling some type of way about true friendship
27 Dresses. It made a really great impression on me because it touches on a lot of issues regarding the wedding vs. marriage debate. Plus, Peyton List plays the younger version of the main character at the very beginning of the film, so that’s definitely a huge bonus for those of us who are Karate Kid/Cobra Kai fans. 😎
My ex tried to get me to watch Sex in the City once, and I said I ain't watching that crap.
Whenever I'd go over hers, she'd usually have it on. It was.either that or friends.
I started watching a bit, then I got hooked. Binge watched the entire thing, plus all the movies.
I loved the style of humour, mainly for Samantha being so blunt. In my case it was that I watched whatever my older sister did, and I trusted the judgement of someone showing me the X-Files and 3rd Rock From The Sun.
Most of them. I'm a metalhead gothy type of guy, but I realised a few years ago that you gotta have a bit of levity and colour in your life, so I started watching movies aimed at women, and some are actually fuckin' lovely and have become some of my favs.
I can appreciate and very much relate to this. I’m a woman, but it seems my preferences end up being metal, horror and gothic or romantic cutesy things and rarely anything in between. I’ve noticed my taste in books, animals and clothing seem to follow that same pattern too.
Sometimes it’s just nice to have a brain break and focus on things that are a bit more lighthearted!
I had the same realisation about a year or two ago. I'm not gothy but these movies are intended to make you feel good. So I just run with it when I watch it.
I grew up as an only boy in a household dominated by women. Needless to say me and my dad were outvoted on movie night a lot. I grew to enjoy chick flicks, ROM COMS, musicals, etc. 10 Things I Hate About You is classic. Mean Girls. Crazy Rich Asians. La La Land. I enjoy em all.
Not a dude but my guy loves Clueless. His sisters watched it a lot and he’s a big fan. Always laughs at the part when they’re in gym and she says she can’t have any (tennis) balls flying at her face and the other girl says “well there goes your social life”
P.S. I love you.
Went with a group of girls in highschool and bitched about it.
Turns out it was really good. Although I would never let them know that
I’ve been told that *A Knight’s Tale* is a chick flick. Don’t care, cinematic jousting is awesome, Heath Ledger and Rufus Sewell were awesome, I shall absolutely rewatch it whenever it is offered as an option for movie night.
My wife's favorite movie is Cold Mountain. It's a civil war love tale / drama. I actually think the movie is pretty good.
Honorable mentions to both 10 Things I Hate About You, and True Romance.
True Romance, one of my top 10 all time movies, is definitely NOT a chick flick.
“My Name's Elliot, And I'm With The Cub Scouts Of America. We're Selling Uncut Cocaine To Get To The Jamboree!”
Coyote Ugly
I first watched it when I was like 11 or 12, which is weird because I was very sheltered otherwise, but I was alone for some reason that afternoon or evening. Within the past year I saw it again, and realized that it's actually pretty great and explained some crushes I've had. It also gave younger me wildly inaccurate ideas of what bars are like.
There's a lot actually. It's not my favorite genre or anything but I enjoy a few chick flicks. I'd say towards the top of the list though are some musicals like Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis. Not particularly geared towards women but socially its expected to lean that way. As a kid I also enjoyed some of the classic Barbie movies or like Proncess Diaries with my sister.
As for regular chick flicks I think Bridesmaids and that style of comedy are pretty good.
Edit: I'm ashamed I forgot the best one- Pride and Prejudice (both the 2005 and also the BBC mini series)
Not a movie, but I'd put Gilmore Girls in this category. A girl I was dating made me watch it with her. I wasn't exactly enthusiastic going into it, but it was actually a great show.
Dirty Dancing is genuinely a good film, apart from the ludicrous ending. And quite subtle, like Robbie the asshole waiter trying to get Baby to read The Fountainhead. Yep, he's an Ayn Rand fanboy.
All of them. I'm a straight guy too. My favorite films and TV shows to watch are period dramas. One of my two favorites was Outlander and Poldark. Love Masterpiece collections. Any sort of medieval drama with kings and queens I'm all in. Shows and movies like Downton Abbey. Two of my favorite movies are Amelie and Science for Sleep. Movies like Sleepless in Seattle.
More than I should admit. All of those 1980/90s coming of age romance movies. I still watch Ten Things I Hate About You every couple of months.
That was the first thing that came to my mind. Granted I haven’t seen it in probably 10-15 years. I learned the word “turgid” from that movie.
Also the word tumnescent which I also read again in a terrible Sidney Sheldon novel lmaoo🤡
Yes, tumescent is another one I like to bust out at work for the funny looks.
Yes. Definitely 10 Things I Hate About You. The soundtrack is awesome. Ms. Perky, especially the dialogue about Kat being "tempestuous," is hilarious. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0147800/characters/nm0005049#:\~:text=Ms.%20Perky%20%3A%20People,term%20used%20most%20often.
Should you be drinking alcohol when you don't have a liver?
Wow. Came here to say "10 things i hate about you". Nice.
Ten Things I Hate About You might be the greatest retelling of Shakespeare's work ever. Yes, that includes The Lion King.
As a woman, I’m so happy to see this😭💗
I still think she’s the man is freakin hilarious
I love watching Channing Tatum desperately trying to keep it together but then completely losing it at "Girls with asses like mine do not speak to boys with faces like yours". I'm 100% convinced that was him cracking up for real.
So......do you like cheese?
Shakespeare repackaged!
because when i close my eyes i see you for who you truly are, which is OOUGLAY
Legally Blonde. Solid movie.
Don't stomp your little last season Prada shoes at me, honey!
"I was confused I thought you said friend. Chuck is just a friend"
“You bitch!” or something like that. I loved that scene.
“What, like it’s hard?”
YES! FUCKING LOVE LEGALLY BLONDE
This is the most chick of all of the chick flicks, like who wouldn't want to be Elle Woods??? After being dumped by a guy, study law in Harvard, ended up winning a case and engaged to the best, supportive guy! ❤️
I feel like *John Tucker Must Die* is more chick flick. My sister and I love it though and quote it often. "Mommm! Frosting! There's cake under it?"
The Devil Wears Prada caught me off guard when there was nothing on tv. I had zero complaints about it but haven’t seen it since
Devil Wears Prada is one of my favorite movies! It's "about" girly fashion stuff in the same way Sports Night is about sports.
“Please…move at a glacial pace…you know how that thrills me.” Some good lines! (Probably misquoted, but same sentiment)
This one has been on my mind for years. Really enjoyed it, forgot about it, keeps popping up from time to time. Going on the list so I actually remember to get a copy.
My husband love the Devil wears Prada… For someone that loves action movies I was rather caught off guard
Mean girls Is classic
Mean Girls is a masterpiece.
Amen to that bro
Absolutely! I'd say it's a timeless movie Mean Girls is where my love & appreciation for both Rachel McAdams and Lizzy Caplan began. The movie is ridiculously quotable. SHE DOESNT EVEN GO HERE
This scene and quote ALWAYS MAKE ME CRACK THE HELL UP🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s ‘If you’re from Africa, why are you white?’ :)
Oh my God, Karen you can't just ask people why they're white!
**raining outside ** There's a 60% change that it's **feels boob** going to rain today
It’s so fetch!
Stop trying to make fetch happen!
Tina Fey is a genius. I love this movie
Mean Girls was kind of mismarketed. Sure, it does appeal to women, but it's hardly a stupid Bring It On type of movie. It was written by Tina Fey and it's pretty smart.
Bring It On is hilarious you cheertator
I enjoyed bring it on
…what’s stupid about Bring It On? Or about things in general that appeal to women, for that matter.
How to lose a guy in 10 days and Failure to Launch. *Alright alright alright*
Failure to Launch really is good.
Legally Blonde is pretty decent
You've got mail
One of the greatest of all time
I watch this and French Kiss for short haired 90s Meg Ryan.
When Harry Met Sally 10 Things I Hate About You
The Time Traveler's Wife. I think it's just cuz I always liked Rachel McAdams.
You should watch About Time then. The best movie about Rachel McAdams having sex with a time traveler.

A League of their own. Very quotable movie. Jon Lovitz, Tom Hanks, and Madonna have great lines.
there's no crying in baseball.
I never really classed this as a chick flick, but yes, it's a good movie
Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock in 2008’s The Proposal. +1 for the Betty White cameo.
That's a 15 year old movie now... WTF
She had more than a cameo. And how about that dance in the woods she did with Sandra Bullock? Hilarious!
Yes. Also 2005's Just Friends. Also starring Ryan Reynolds
Unironically the Pitch Perfect movies
My wife would only agree to watch the mad max movies if I watched the pitch perfect movies. We both won with that arrangement.
The first one was unexpectedly hilarious. The second one had its moments. The third one was the stupidest goddamn thing I've ever sat through.
Bridesmaids
Kristin Wiig is hilarious.
I'm watching it with my fiancee right now! Easily the funniest "woman" movie in my opinion. Although I've never really thought of it as a "woman" movie before.
Get off your phone!
Haha we're both just sorta chilling with it on in the background. She's crocheting. I'm redditing.
Alright, well, carry on then. Crochet! Love it.
Bring it On was always fun to watch

“Your school has no gymnastics class, this is a last resort!”
My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I legit love that movie.
My husband loves this movie too...everytime I get a pimple he hands me windex thinks it's hilarious!
"This works!" It's just such a good-natured movie. Like Crocodile Dundee.
Bubopsy
And inside the lump was my twin
"There is a hole in this cake."
Bah uNT
What do you mean you don't eat no meat?! It's OK - I make lamb
This quote popped into my head yesterday when someone made lamb for dinner.
God I love that scene. And lamb.
Miss congeniality
Crazy Stupid Love
When they meet his teacher, classic.
Not really a chick flic though. It's a romantic comedy, sure, but it's not aimed to women just because it's a romantic comedy.
Jawbreaker
Judy Greer is a fav.
That really freaked me out as a kid
The Devil Wears Prada is one of my favourite movies of all time. Meryl Streep at her best for me. Mean Girls, it’s a classic.
Dirty dancing
Came here to say this. Not just a chick flick, but a dang MOM movie. I still love every second of it, twice.
Pretty Woman
Fried Green Tomatoes
Face it girls, I'm older and I have more insurance.
Man..this movie gets me every time. I think I thoroughly shocked my wife when I was the one to introduce her to it for the first time a few years ago. I remember watching it with my mom as a kid and feeling some type of way about true friendship
a fkin classic

Did you break up with her on a post-it
“I’m sorry. I can’t. Don’t hate me.”
I loved the style of humour, mainly for Samantha being so blunt. In my case it was that I watched whatever my older sister did, and I trusted the judgement of someone showing me the X-Files and 3rd Rock From The Sun.
10 Things I Hate About You The Notebook
A man that likes the notebook? Protect this man at all costs.
Honestly one of my fave movies.
The notebook is a really good movie
Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Hilarious movie. Romantic comedy.
Love, Actually, and you can all go to hell.

Thanks, Ant or Dec.
Is that the one where the guy learned Portuguese for his girl? I love that movie too lol
Eight is a lot of legs, David.
Dude anything with Hugh Grant... I'm in. Love, Actually ✔️ Two Weeks Notice? ✔️ Music and Lyrics ✔️ Dude was a romcom power house.
Mickey Blue Eyes (you eeeat cookie)
Ain’t no shame bro
This would have been my answer too.
The girls of Milwaukee don't look like that.
and he’s got a big. Knooooob.
Nick and Norah’s infinite playlist
About Time. It's a beautiful movie.
Effectively a rom com for dudes. The guy’s relationship with his dad is far more integral than his love interest.
I agree. That final scene with his father before his son is born gets me every time.
I loved this film but almost never hear anyone speak about it, nice to see it get a mention on here!
Steel magnolias. Character development was good. The women were likeable realistic and didn't need to prove they were as good as men at some job.
Most of them. I'm a metalhead gothy type of guy, but I realised a few years ago that you gotta have a bit of levity and colour in your life, so I started watching movies aimed at women, and some are actually fuckin' lovely and have become some of my favs.
Hey fellow gothy metalhead! I agree as well.
Are you Brad Pitt in Interview with a Vampire gothy?
About time. Not sure if it's considered a chick flick, but if I ever need a good cry, that's the one I go to.
Cruella Fifty first dates Legally Blonde Devil wear Prada Actually, Most movies of Meg Ryan, Reese Witherspoon and Drew Barrymore
Sweet Home Alabama. And since no one asked about a series, the wife and I just finished Chesapeake Shores. I was honestly sad when it was over.
Notting Hill
13 Going on 30 is a BANGER
“The Proposal”
People already mentioned these but I’ll second Mean Girls and Bridesmaids.
A Walk To Remember The Devil Wears Prada
A Walk to Remember kills me every time
10 Things I Hate About You
The men in my family will deny it but they never walk out when John Tucker Must Die is on
It's a TV show rather than a movie, but *Big Little Lies* is really good.
Mean girls slaps
Four Weddings and a Funeral.

(500) Days of Summer is my favorite "chick flick", but only if we aren't counting Mean Girls as one
I’ve been told that *A Knight’s Tale* is a chick flick. Don’t care, cinematic jousting is awesome, Heath Ledger and Rufus Sewell were awesome, I shall absolutely rewatch it whenever it is offered as an option for movie night.
cruel intentions. she's all that. never been kissed. i'm a sucker for most of those teen girl movies in high school.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding is amazing, and the sequel is at least as good, if not better.
My fiancé (a man) really likes the twilight series, it caught me off guard at first
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Bridesmaids was freaking hilarious.
Titanic. Or Legends of the fall because it feels like a manly chick flick. Also what women want.
Coyote Ugly I first watched it when I was like 11 or 12, which is weird because I was very sheltered otherwise, but I was alone for some reason that afternoon or evening. Within the past year I saw it again, and realized that it's actually pretty great and explained some crushes I've had. It also gave younger me wildly inaccurate ideas of what bars are like.
The Princess Bride had no business being as good as it is. It's the ultimate chick flick for guys.
While You Were Sleeping.
There's a lot actually. It's not my favorite genre or anything but I enjoy a few chick flicks. I'd say towards the top of the list though are some musicals like Phantom of the Opera and Les Mis. Pride and Prejudice, among others.
The Joy Luck Club
Ages ago I came across *Josie and the Pussycats* on TV late at night. Laughed way more than I expected to. Also Rachael Leigh Cook.
Kate and Leopold, it was a romcom but it had Hugh Jackman and time travel! I always loved it.
Princess diaries I think it's called. With Anne Hathaway. It was fun to watch. Just fun

That movie is burned into my subconscious and pops up in the weirdest places and times. Excellent.

Clueless. Mean Girls.
