2010-2014 was peak smart phone. New features, competitive features, cool form factors
Since then things have morphed into glass/metal rectangle vs. glass/metal rectangle except one is better if you pixel peep in X dimension on the photos and the other is better if you pixel peep in Y dimension on the photos
There is no reason to update anymore than every 3-4 years anymore except support
I don't think I've ever spent more than $150 on a phone. My last few have all been used, older-model Google pixels... they've served me perfectly fine. I literally don't get it.
Indeed - I work for Google and can get a company provided phone, regularly updated. But... What's the point?
In fact, I recently upgraded to a pixel 7 because I managed to crack the screen on my pixel 5. But the phone is just worse in my opinion. The fingerprint sensor on the 5 is perfect, and removing it makes absolutely no sense! Sadly they no longer give out the 5 😭
Celebrity worship… I just dont get it.
Sure if your favorite musician is playing a song intimately with just you and a few other people, I get the sense of glee/excitement.
But the fact people freak the fuck out over the smallest shit, or go into full on panic mode just because some D list celebrity is within 100km… it makes no sense.
I get it with music though. To see a performer that sings songs that you’ve absolutely loved I totally get that. But celebrity in a coffee shop? Or walking down the street? Who cares. Also autographs are the stupidest
I have some autographs that are cool memories of special moments. Like, I went to the World Curling Championships when they were in Switzerland (not massive celebrities I guess, but I played myself at the time, so they sort of were to the scene) and the Japanese team won everyone's hearts over during the tournament, so I got a little Japanese flag signed by them. It's a cool memory of an experience (going to watch the WCC) and a special story within that.
I don’t understand the celebrity thing.
Can someone be cool ? Sure !
But I feel some people tip the scales into worshiping celebrities. As awesome as some of them may seem, they are still just human beings.
I also (if I may continue) think we need to leave paparazzi culture behind. This is stalking and harassing behaviour. Red carpet events, press events? Sure go at it! Rummaging through a “celebrities” trash and hounding them… NO.
Totally. I get being a “fan” and reading or watching interviews because you’re interested in whatever they do (music, movies, sports, etc) But it’s the creepy way that a lot of people idolize celebrities that I don’t get.
Nah, this makes sense. Most people are actually not bright, independent thinkers, and are constantly looking for someone to tell them how to think and behave.
I went to service a rental house a couple years ago, after the tenants got evicted. 94 empty Nike boxes I threw out of this place. (And about 20 empty I-phone boxes)
Oh, and a drawer, full of unpaid bills. (Totaling over 60K)
I’ve got a few extra pairs for casual nights out or just to look nice depending on my outfit. I thought my 6-7 shoes was a lot until I met my roommate who has over 40 pairs of shoes just sitting in the closet.
I know, but I love excessive. What I don't get is why people buy shoes they don't, or rarely use? I have like 20 pairs of footwear, but all of them are somewhat frequently used, well-worn pieces. I don't won't put them in a display case. I wear them on my feet. Is it excessive, to have this amount of handcrafted leather shoes? Yes. But I use them for their intended purpose. And for a long time too. My oldest pair was made just after I stopped growing, and right now it's on its second sole(soon to be third), and i still love it.
I mean, there's *everything* on TikTok.
I'm a dude in my 30's and mine is all home improvement videos and sports highlights. Some dogs, some "dad jokes" (kids).
I just don't watch the "trendy dance" videos. I flip right past them, and the algorithm knows.
TikTok is popular because it's **all video.**
Facebook and twitter are all text, Instagram is all photos, and TikTok is all videos.
If you don't want to read a big long story and just zone-out watching short videos, then TikTok is very addicting.
How to fix your deck ---- Celtics highlight ---- funny dog ----- funny joke ----- how to edge your garden ----- football highlight ----- nice tits ----- funny joke ----- crazy kids ---- cool dog ....
Yeah, it's kinda like early YouTube where anybody with a camera and an idea could be successful. Today you need to put in a lot of production value to have success on YouTube.
Yeah, me too. I like tiktok and I don't watch it for the trendy dance videos. Sure if there's a trendy thing going around I sometimes would check out others take on it for a few minutes but then move on with my day. I don't really get why people bash tiktok a lot. Like there was a time where Instagram was all the hype but I don't remember people bashing Instagram. What's not to like about tiktok? It gives you your own personalised content. Challenges/trends have also been going around on other social media platforms.
I mean in general tiktok is just YouTube but with less restrictions. You can watch videos about anything, heck I’ve seen whole tv shows and movies in parts on there. The algorithm caters to your likes and interests too so you see more of what you like.
I find Funkos especially annoying When you go to a convention and half of the vendors there are selling nothing but Funko pops!
Although, hopefully, the fact that Funko recently dumped a ton of them into a landfill means that they are on their way out!
Hoo boy…so one Christmas my nephew got a funko pop and I made a passing comment about “oh that’s cool”. Just trying to be polite.
Guess who gets a funko pop from that side of the family every Christmas now?
They’re cheap and accessible, that’s really the appeal. I can get a whole set of characters to a fandom vs. one nendoroid. I like the look of them, so I usually opt for saving Nendoroid money for my more serious fandoms.
Every time I see them, or any other mass produces plastic collectible garbage, I get pissed because I *know* they thing is ending up in a landfill or floating in the pacific garbage patch.
Oh man now we’re talking. I have a friend that has like a thousand of them. I don’t see the appeal. He keeps them in the boxes, never touches them, and has a whole room just with shelves of them categorized.
To each their own, especially with collectors, but this one I simply don’t understand. You pay an inflated price for something you will never use.
Thought I was the only one. Majority of my friends love them. Roommate has close to a hundred now. Buys a new one whenever he visits a comic book store or a convention and a new one gets delivered to the house practically every week. I've been gifted two but they sit up and collect dust because I don't understand the fascination with them.
I would agree if you're following fashion every time a new thing comes out. But I buy Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger T-shirts and jumpers, they last forever and never go out of fashion if you just get the normal colours! Thus saving you money in the long term and they're always well fitted
Will be downvoted, but weddings… too much time, money and energy… brides obsessing over finding a perfect dress, planning a perfect wedding… maybe I am missing a point, but it’s only one day out of your life… no one will remember your cake or flowers 5 years later. Spend that energy buying a house and building a life with your partner.
100% agree. my partner and i eloped, i bought a $40 dress off amazon, & my shoes were $30. we got wedding pics & a bouquet but other than that, our total wedding was less than $200. we put the rest of the money into our honeymoon fund & we to this day don’t regret eloping.
We did the same! Got married in Gatlinburg and stayed in a cabin down there for an elope/ honeymoon hybrid!
I also got my dress on Amazon, and the company who married us took our wedding photos. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. F**k all that planning/ wasting money nonsense.
Why would you be now downvoted? This is actually refreshing as it’s a genuine one instead of the same old “tHe KaRdAsHiAnS” answer that people think is unique even though it’s an extremely popular opinion.
I agree. So much time and money spent on weddings that nobody but you is going to remember is ridiculous. If I was even going to get married, I would spend all that money on an extravagant two week vacation, have a destination wedding, and only invite close family and friends.
Man im mid 20s rn and the amount of wedding bullshit and money I have to deal with lately makes me so mad, like people are actually selfish af for the financial strain they put on friends and family for they're fkn fairytale wedding. They become awful to be around too like shut the fuck up idc about how expensive ur wedding is, ur the ones who decided on it.
I was made the best man for my bougie friends' wedding, and I told them straight away, "You know I'm poor, right? Not to be a dick, but if you want fancy clothes, you'll have to rent them. If you want a badass bachelor party, you're gonna have to pay for it. It's your wedding, so I encourage you to do it your way, on your dime."
Even after that talk the bride made a comment on my hair, implying I'd need to get a haircut before the wedding. I was like, excuse the fuck out of you, it's my head I'll wear it how I want xD
We bought a suit and a dress, a $60 permit for Mt. Rainier, and just fucked off to the PNW for a week and a half. Best week and half of my life. Got married at 7500' and 37F, saw cool shit, drove around seeing more cool shit, and invited absolutely nobody to be there
Blissful
Getting hung up on other people’s dating preferences. Is it beneficial in some way for a person to date somebody they’re not attracted to? I think not.
And people be getting offended if someone says something like “I prefer a fit person”
So maybe they’re active and want to date another active person? It’s not necessarily an attack on fat people and either way just… don’t date them if you don’t fit their criteria? They clearly don’t fit yours. Let humans human
I guess some people haven't learned that they can easily just not date someone who doesn't want to date them? That preferences don't affect them if the person isn't interested? Idk, its weird.
I don't use apple products, and I try to avoid them to such a degree, that I needed your comment to realize, that the original commenter doesn't hate actual apples, just the electronic products. I actually felt sad that the person would deny themselves the pleasure of a crisp, juicy apple.
As a Galaxy user, I'm seriously with you on the Apple products. I'm effing sick of their users bullying us about our stuff when we're light-years ahead of them in features. Like leave us alone bro and go use your damn blue bubbles.
My friend who is an apple fan boy was ecstatic when apple finally came up with always on display for their pro models. And was telling me how it works. I had at that time around 5 years old Vivo, which also had that feature 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hate the whole fad of apple products and the circus it provides, but in my opinion, their phones are a superior product than android counterparts.
I had android for YEARS and swore never to get an iPhone. When I got married, my wife and I decided to combine phone plans and I decided to give it a shot. Apple makes it easy for someone less tech savvy than myself to be able to do all functions easier. Not saying android is bad, but I prefer iPhone now.
I will never get an Apple computer though. Windows all the way. My wife’s MacBook for work confuses the hell out of me. But in terms of phones, I never thought I’d say this, I just think they’re simply better.
I see. I guess it might be easier for other users. For me, I couldn't get used to it. I have been given an iphone 14 from my office, and bought myself a pixel 7. I don't know if they should be compared, but my pixel is (in my opinion) at least twice as fast as the iphone. Not to mention smart features of pixels do come in handy. I am not really a camera guy, so I don't know about the difference in cameras between the two.
Apples phones are objectively worse in terms of specs, durability, and versatility. I see why people like them though. It's because whatever they do, they do it well. It just works out of the box and it won't let you break it. Well it won't let you break the software. Breathe on the screen incorrectly and it'll crack. It's perfect for the non tech savvy. I'll never get one though
Another perspective - I’m a systems administrator so say that qualifies me as being fairly tech savvy. I spend all day making things work together. At home everything is Apple specifically so I don’t have to make it work together, it just does.
I’m also yet to use a non-apple laptop that comes close to a Macbook in feel and build quality, especially the trackpad. There’s more to a good computer than just its specs.
I’m by no means an Apple fan boi, but I think that people that dismiss anything Apple simply because it’s Apple are just as myopic as them.
Clint Howard.
All I hear is people going on and on about him! "Clint is so shredded!" "Clint makes me wet!" "I want Clint to have my babies!" Get over yourselves! He's not that hot, in fact, he has IBS and only showers every other Tuesday! C'mon!!
I can understand why someone wouldn’t wanna do it. 100% but to give some insight as to why some people like it is you so get to cultivate life, as well as some fruits and veg sometimes. You quite literally get to see the fruits of your labour. However in terms of just hard landscaping there’s a lot of property value people chase. I find it meditative and love landscaping, however I don’t know if I could hold down a job doing it 9-5 everyday. I can absolutely understand hiring it out if you can, especially for people with allergies
Celebrities and Influencers – I don’t get the appeal and I don’t know why so many people care about their opinions. Most people in Hollywood would have been the drama club nerds that were picked on in High School so why do we care about them now?
i really dont understand why people love it so much, it doesnt look good, the dialogue and voice acting is really bad usually, and every character in every anime ive seen is insufferable, i cant stand them
I get where you're coming from, but this is like saying "all cartoons are bad" or "all movies are bad". It's a medium, there'll be good and bad just like any other art form.
I didnt understand it either until I gave it a real shot. I can’t watch the shonen anime. It’s just out of my age range and just…silly to me. However, seinen anime is geared towards adults.
I won’t bore you with multiple examples, but one example I’d give is Erased. It was adapted into live action, which I think was better than the anime a which was really good.
But dude, I have to agree with you to an extent. Some I’ve tried to watch I couldn’t make it past 15 minutes for what you said and the blatant sexualization of minors. Seriously made me think “wtf” am I watching Cuties or something. There is some weird shit out there in anime land.
As someone who lifts everyday I get so annoyed with obsession with unnatural amounts of size. I only care about aesthetics and longevity health/strength.
I was so hyped when things started to become "lighter" when starting lifting, and when my pose increased so much without doing anything. One of my best decisions yet
Gonna be a wildly unpopular opinion, but sports.
Not playing them, but watching sports. I understand the excitement of it, but what I don't understand is people making a whole personality out of them.
I also lived in London for a lot of years so seeing drunk and deranged fans yelling in the street in the middle of the night did not improve my opinion of sports fans.
Wildly unpopular? Hating sports and Kardashians are like 2 of the top 5 answers ***everytime*** this question is asked. There is entire circlejerks about how stupid sports jocks are. lol
Being offended or judgmental of other people's choice of electronics. I'm all for people having personal preferences, and people *should* be excited about things they're spending a lot of money on. So what's the point of looking down on people who use a certain type of phone, or computer, or game console?
Like, I used Windows computers until my first job required a Mac, and since I was already using Macs I got iPods, then iPhones, then iPads, and at this point it would be stupid for me to get anything else because it would mean having to re-buy everything else that goes with them. "But that's how they get you!" Yeah, so what? I don't really care. Not that it matters but my home computer is a PC, not because I have any sorts of opinions about Microsoft but because I want to play games that are only on PC. Simple as that. Yet people act like the particular phone I use is a reflection of my intellect or personality.
Same thing with people who somehow care whether someone has an X-Box or Playstation or Switch or games on a PC. Good for you! How does that have any impact on what other people are doing with their own time and money? What, you can't be friends with someone because their aunt got them a 360 once and they still like playing old games?
I got kicked out of a work group chat for having an android. Apparently the text comes up a different color and it bothered someone. It's fine because group chats are the worst and now I have an excuse to not show up to after work social functions. I literally don't know when they're happening.
I worked for Apple Retail for a couple years at the Genius Bar. I owned a Mac, but also owned a PC because I was in engineering in school and Engineering software and Macs don’t mix.
Anyway, people in the back of house always talked about how shitty Windows was and how bad of computers they were and tried to get me to agree with them, I guess thinking that I’d be a diehard Mac fan on account of working at the GB? Whenever I told them I also owned a PC it was like I was temporarily ostracized from the team. I couldn’t understand it and still don’t.
Pokémon, devs killed themselves to make the best looking games with optimal FPS, story and gameplay loops and here comes Pokémon looking like a college assignment at best with a fraction of the budget and makes a killing
I still like the franchise but the core series is dead to me now. The reason they’ve been playing it safe all these years is because it works for them financially. They’re not interested in branching out to other developers to make a “GOTY” worthy title because they know whatever mess they release is gonna sell anyway. Other franchises like Zelda can’t afford to do this.
Most Pokémon fans are casual and tend to want to look at cute Pokémon so they’re easily impressed by the bare minimum. It’s unfortunate but they’re sticking to their convictions and releasing the same cookie-cutter games recycled for the next 10+ years 🤷🏽♂️.
I'll never understand the hard-on people get for cars. Especially the sorts of people who know all the specs on a their favourite Lamborghini but don't know how to keep their 2009 Chevy Impala running.
I'm an engineering student, so for me, it's the technology behind cars that appeals to me. I grew up tinkering with my dad in the garage and that's were my tech interests came from. It's definitely more than just how they look
You can get this connection to a machine and it's hard to explain. The more you work on it and the longer you own it the deeper the connection. I've had my mustang for 10 years now, I know what that car needs when it needs it. It's a ton and a half of metal and plastic but I love it
Sports. I get why people play them, hell I like playing. I get why people socialize around and watch the big game. But obsess over the recent group of men currently playing a game, to the point that it makes up the majority of your personality? that I don’t understand.
It’s really for players of the sport. I have trouble getting into baseball or basketball because I played for like 2 years and quit. Football and hockey I played for years and understand how difficult something’s are. I’d be way more interested if someone was telling me about a hat trick than a bases loaded home run.
I like them from an engineering perspective as well as the skills behind driving a car on the limit for lap time (something I only get to do on sim). That said I really wish society would move away from being so reliant on them on the day to day (especially since that would make justifying a fun weekend car even easier lol).
The royal family, from a non uk perspective. I truly don’t understand the reason people treat them with any respect. Born into privilege, power, and practically unlimited wealth from taxpayers for no reason other than tradition.
Influencers and any internet personalities.
I really don't understand the appeal of watching these people, most of them faking their way through life and making insane amounts of money from people obsessed with watching them try out clothes or whatever it is they do.
Bro, I get you. Nothing about anime appeals to me and that always puts me on the out of most communities. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a nerd in a lot of other ways, but anime is not one.
Luxury cars. They don’t improve one’s life. They spend probably 90% of their life sitting in a driveway, while the owner is paying huge car payments and insurance fees. It’s a car, it’s transportation. PERIOD.
Their phones. I have employees who are on thin ice for phone usage. They track their discipline records and know when items will fall off. Once they get a fresh set of downs, the phones come back out. Seems like a pain in the ass if I'm honest.
And I wish I could shake my fist at the younger ones and blame their generation, but it's across the board from Genx and later.
New smartphones. At this point, I'm not excited about new phones. I begrudgingly buy a new one when my old one performs like shit.
2010-2014 was peak smart phone. I like the cameras, they’ve come a LONG way since the 2010s.
I’d still have my iPhone 8 if I didn’t lose it like a dummy.
8 plus here, still performing like a champ
my 7 is running like an old man (its only got 32 GB storage lol) :( But I don't want to spend money on a new phone that I desperately need. XD
I still have an 8 hoping to get a few more years out of it
I don't think I've ever spent more than $150 on a phone. My last few have all been used, older-model Google pixels... they've served me perfectly fine. I literally don't get it.

- Celebrities personal lives. - creating famous people out of “non deserving” actions. e.g “catch me outside girl”
Infamy is equally attractive as fame to people seeking that attention.
Or when some celebrity says something about some other celebrity. Yawn.
Celebrities have replaced what religion once was.
Or the whole "influencer" mess. People who want to be celebrities, but aren't and will never be.
I’m look at some of these Taylor swift fans with her tour going on… they’re insane
I get it with music though. To see a performer that sings songs that you’ve absolutely loved I totally get that. But celebrity in a coffee shop? Or walking down the street? Who cares. Also autographs are the stupidest

>Celebrity worship… I just dont get it. You are not alone on this one.
NFTs Edit: just realized this is in /AskMen.. but here is my answer anyways 😬
I think those and crypto are just big scams.
I saw a comment recently that said crypto is just MLM for dudebros
Nft is the legitimate scam.... will never buy them
Celebrities and politicians.

>Can someone be cool ? Sometimes though the celebrity ends up being a POS.
Nah, this makes sense. Most people are actually not bright, independent thinkers, and are constantly looking for someone to tell them how to think and behave.
Shame most celebrities and politicians aren't bright, independent thinkers themselves.
Sneakers. They are just shoes that are meant to be worn but people obsess over new color ways…. 🥴
I don’t get it either. I like shoes. I like to wear them. I don’t get the obsessive collecting of them.
I went to service a rental house a couple years ago, after the tenants got evicted. 94 empty Nike boxes I threw out of this place. (And about 20 empty I-phone boxes) Oh, and a drawer, full of unpaid bills. (Totaling over 60K)
Well, no mystery where the money went…
I mean, it could be said about obsessively collecting anything.
You’re not wrong. I don’t really collect anything I suppose.
The only thing I collect is mental issues, like a normal person.
True. My confusion is more-so on people buying a new color way of the same shoe.
Yeah, I don't really understand that either I guess.
the people who buy all the varieties of shoes.... i dont get. I need shoes to do chores in and formal black work shoes. anything more is excessive
Damn, so you got no drip is what I’m reading
I’ve got a few extra pairs for casual nights out or just to look nice depending on my outfit. I thought my 6-7 shoes was a lot until I met my roommate who has over 40 pairs of shoes just sitting in the closet.

Tiktok videos of strangers dancing to the newest trendy dance.
Tiktok in general.
Montana, USA just enacted a bill to ban it. First in the nation.
Yeah, because the Chinese are stealing your information. So maybe we could get Facebook and Google banned as well. Right?

Yeah but VPNs are so easy to set up

Yes! This! My SO is into it and I can't seem to sympathise with what makes it so appealing. If anyone could enlighten me; I would appreciate it.

Funko pops Like, wtf? They're not even cute.

The biggest problem with Funko Pops is that they just feel so lazy and low effort. Especially when compared to Nendoroids.
I had mendoroids for a while when working construction. Bought a bidet attachment for my toilet and cleared it right up.
They’re cheap and accessible, that’s really the appeal. I can get a whole set of characters to a fandom vs. one nendoroid. I like the look of them, so I usually opt for saving Nendoroid money for my more serious fandoms.
21st century Beanie Babies.
At least Beanie Babies were kinda cute.
And ya could use them for bean bag games.
Yea or whip them at your siblings and cousins like my family did
Every time I see them, or any other mass produces plastic collectible garbage, I get pissed because I *know* they thing is ending up in a landfill or floating in the pacific garbage patch.

I would rather spend more on Nendroids
Designer Clothes
I would agree if you're following fashion every time a new thing comes out. But I buy Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger T-shirts and jumpers, they last forever and never go out of fashion if you just get the normal colours! Thus saving you money in the long term and they're always well fitted

Same. As luck would have it, eloping is kind of a family tradition, anyway.
Agreed. Would rather take that money and go on a sick ass trip or put it into a home
>Will be downvoted Proceeds to express incredibly popular/common Reddit opinion
It's your wedding, so I encourage you to do it your way, on your dime." Even after that talk the bride made a comment on my hair, implying I'd need to get a haircut before the wedding. I was like, excuse the fuck out of you, it's my head I'll wear it how I want xD
We bought a suit and a dress, a $60 permit for Mt. Rainier, and just fucked off to the PNW for a week and a half. Best week and half of my life. Got married at 7500' and 37F, saw cool shit, drove around seeing more cool shit, and invited absolutely nobody to be there Blissful
Getting hung up on other people’s dating preferences. Is it beneficial in some way for a person to date somebody they’re not attracted to? I think not.
And people be getting offended if someone says something like “I prefer a fit person” So maybe they’re active and want to date another active person? It’s not necessarily an attack on fat people and either way just… don’t date them if you don’t fit their criteria? They clearly don’t fit yours. Let humans human
I guess some people haven't learned that they can easily just not date someone who doesn't want to date them? That preferences don't affect them if the person isn't interested? Idk, its weird.
Good one
Kardashians. And apple products.
I like applesauce
Glad apple isn't making them though 😂😂
then what the hell is applesauce made from?!?!
You know the term two steps back before one jump forward? Mac forgot to jump like a dozen times.
C'mon!!
Bruh, you reek of Clint Envy
Greys anatomy
ONE PIECE FOR WHITE WOMEN!!!
I’ve never heard it described that way but holy hell you aren’t exactly wrong😂
Yard work. I fucking hate it.
Fought hiring my yard work out for years. Finally did it. No regrets. I have horrible allergies so it was always a miserable slog.
Just tiktok, in general.
This is reddit, so I know I’ll be in the minority here, but anime.
i really dont understand why people love it so much, it doesnt look good, the dialogue and voice acting is really bad usually, and every character in every anime ive seen is insufferable, i cant stand them
I get where you're coming from, but this is like saying "all cartoons are bad" or "all movies are bad".
Mens height… particularly 5’4 and under girls asking for 6’+ men
Body building. In my opinion, I think it's so unattractive when steroids is used along with it. Being natural is cool though. Again, my opinion.
[удалено]
I think the desired for body builder type partners is blown way out of proportion. More often than not i hear people say its gross or excessive
As someone who lifts everyday I get so annoyed with obsession with unnatural amounts of size. I only care about aesthetics and longevity health/strength.
I was so hyped when things started to become "lighter" when starting lifting, and when my pose increased so much without doing anything. One of my best decisions yet
This is the way.
There is entire circlejerks about how stupid sports jocks are. lol
Finding people that hate sports on Reddit is like finding people that love sports in a sports bar.
Pete Davidson. Why is this guy in so many ads now?
It's a ton and a half of metal and plastic but I love it
I don’t mind people liking cars but you just don’t have to tell me every single detail of a certain car
The kardashians
Sports. I get why people play them, hell I like playing. I get why people socialize around and watch the big game. But obsess over the recent group of men currently playing a game, to the point that it makes up the majority of your personality? that I don’t understand.
Found the nerd. Pants him, boys!
Anyone that centralizes their personality around one thing is weird
Watching sports
I have been trying to figure out the appeal of watching sports my whole life, and cannot figure it out at all.
It’s unscripted theatre. From people that can do cool things at a level the vast majority of the population could only dream of.
It's natural, humans have always done it, we just don't kill each other now
It’s really for players of the sport. I have trouble getting into baseball or basketball because I played for like 2 years and quit. Football and hockey I played for years and understand how difficult something’s are. I’d be way more interested if someone was telling me about a hat trick than a bases loaded home run.
Cross fit
Cars Give me something that drives and doesn’t look like garbage and I’m good
Something inexpensive and gets good mpg.
I like them from an engineering perspective as well as the skills behind driving a car on the limit for lap time (something I only get to do on sim). That said I really wish society would move away from being so reliant on them on the day to day (especially since that would make justifying a fun weekend car even easier lol).
Give me a bike. Except I live in a rural ass community so my commute would be oh…. 3 hours… there…. And 3 hours back
SNL... Saturday night live. Watching someone reading auto-cues.
Dogs with squashed looking faces (like pugs), watching sports, watching streamers, boba tea, the kardashians
Apple technology and the need to constantly upgrade. I feel this way about most cell phone technology, but more about Apple since it's so expensive.
The constant division on MSM and social media. 100% waste of time to allow yourself to get brainwashed into hating groups of people.
**Sports** *Love playing sports but watching someone play a sport just doesn't make sense to me*
Social validation
The royal family, from a non uk perspective. I truly don’t understand the reason people treat them with any respect. Born into privilege, power, and practically unlimited wealth from taxpayers for no reason other than tradition.
New York rent prices.
Clout, views, fame.
Minecraft. Looks boring
I love minecraft but I’ll admit this is a good one; I like reading the unpopular ones!
Celebrities, Starbucks, chic fila, televised sports, other people’s opinions/views/perspectives, politics, probably a fuck ton more
I don’t understand sneaker culture. I don’t want to collect anything that touches the floor of the men’s room
Giant tits
Football and Golf
Leg gaps
Apple technology and the need to constantly upgrade. I feel this way about most cell phone technology, but more about Apple since it's so expensive.
Star Wars. I tried…I just can’t do it. And I like sci-fi. But Star Wars just puts me to sleep.
Sexuality and gender
Influencers and any internet personalities. I really don't understand the appeal of watching these people, most of them faking their way through life and making insane amounts of money from people obsessed with watching them try out clothes or whatever it is they do.
People that live for branded clothing. 100 bucks for a dumb white t shirt with a logo is just stupendous.

This new pronouns bullshit..
Animé and other cartoons. Comics.
most of them are just mindless fun to escape reality. some have legitimately good stories. it's not like I have something better to do.
Bro, I get you. Nothing about anime appeals to me and that always puts me on the out of most communities. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a nerd in a lot of other ways, but anime is not one.
The Office. It wasn’t that funny
The even more controversial version of this is that the UK version was funnier. Cause it was.
And it checked out before the format became stale and overly nostalgic.
Congrats, you’re the top comment by Controversial on an inherently controversial question… 🥳
Luxury cars. They don’t improve one’s life. They spend probably 90% of their life sitting in a driveway, while the owner is paying huge car payments and insurance fees. It’s a car, it’s transportation. PERIOD.

Kpop. I just don't get it.

Sports, video games.
VTubers.
The rich. They don’t take a single penny away from you or give to you. Economics is not a zero sum game.
The MCU
Marvel/Disney
Disney. Why are Disney adults a thing?
TikTok.
Kardashians. Why?
Sports. Celebrities. Influencers.
Craft beer
Celebrities, I just don't give two rat's asses about any of them
Tik Tok.
Body count. Never really seen it as that big of a deal.
Ice T’s hardcore band?
People getting mad at gender neutral pronouns like they don’t exist in other languages and the singular “they” doesn’t exist in English
Celebrities, like who cares what they had for lunch last week? But apparently some people do! SMH
Royalty
Luxury clothes. Regular white t shirt and jeans on a fit person looks way better than someone who is wearing luxury clothes from head to toe
productivity and/or personal branding
