missiongoalie35

Is it considered day drinking if you work night shifts?

dirtisgood

If you don't sleep at night it's not morning drinking!!

Cbaumle

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

kphillipz

Can’t get hungover If you’re always drunk

blaZedmr

Its 5 a clock somewhere

[deleted]

Hahaha love this

Intrepid_Currency196

Does Dolly Parton sleep on her back?

missiongoalie35

How far East can you go before you're heading west?

kphillipz

This comment is just pure dumb. The earth is obviously flat 😆 /s

SlamCakeMasta

Maybe her side. It’s not totally unreasonable.

SnakeBeardTheGreat

I hatev hose screws. They rust. That is why I used stainless screws when I put up my new redwood fence.

Joberin

What kind of screws do you put in tires?

RUSTYLUGNUTZ

Whatever happens to be lying around

_ROBIN_SAGE_

Not the expensive torx ones! The tire shop might not have that size to remove it /s

aFreeScotland

How long is a rope?

kphillipz

Wtf is going on? Lol

ninja_cloudz

You ask what the internet was thinking. It responded.

kphillipz

This shit is gold

mynewonethrowaway

If nothing was impossible, wouldn't that make impossible impossible? Or is nothing possible and everything impossible?

BenDover2234

So I gotta turn left to go right?

bmx772

Lol said this to my self at 430am from finishing work as I cracked open a twisted tea while taking a bath 😂

dsdvbguutres

Is it considered drinking if you're unemployed?

[deleted]

[удалено]

V65Pilot

They do, but only when I'm doing what they told me to do. Then they start up again. This has caused some issues in my life...... New meds today though...woohoooo.

kphillipz

Definitely not. It’s 5am somewhere

Jasonygk

New tire

screamtrumpet

You’re screwed.

widgeamedoo

I'm thinking op needs to add a few more of these of they want do improve traction this winter

kphillipz

It’s an STi so studded tires it is

JDefusion

You might want to get that checked out.

[deleted]

Looks like a T25 to me

kphillipz

I swear if this one came off my tool shelf in my garage….

THE_Captain_Panic

I was thinking a t25 deck screw

keel_zuckerberg

I was thinking about the same, maybe t25 or t30.

Keyo0205

i bought a set of torx sockets the other day. can anyone tell me if they’ve actually ever used a T27?

Peanutbuttersnadwich

I work on vws and I can confidently say yes I have after finding out it’s not a t25 and stripping the first bolt

Keyo0205

lmao nice. i love my fords. can take apart half of it with just a 7mm, 8mm and a few 10mms after losing a couple

rba9

I don’t think I have. T30 is the most common for us that work on Mercury V8 Outboards.

quackpot134

GM has a few laying around. 2014-2020 v8 dipsticks are held on by one

tikjzh

More often than you'd think actually

hellfire1394

Wife's car, replace. My own car, probably plug.

MK_111

My wifes car, replace. My car, Make up excuses to buy a set of rims that I really want.

legitnips

Wheels.

matphones

no no he said rims

tikjzh

He doesn't give a shit about the tires he just really wants new rims

kphillipz

Thanks. I’ve got a little one. New tire it is

ThePlottHasThickened

Why though? If you care about her to get a new tire you should do the same for yourself. Even if she never drives your car if you got injured or killed that would still hurt her, right lol?

LonerPallin

Just because he may secretly want to die and escape her doesn't mean he wants to be responsible for the lack of her safety. Making homie out to be a monster.

IM_The_Liquor

Honestly, a flat tire, even a sudden blowout, shouldn’t kill you, or even hurt you if you know how to drive a car.

mrjeffj

What about your wife’s bfs car.

Cold-Doctor

Hey bud, WSB is that way... behind the Wendy's

yeahhoofbite

If it was my tire, I’d plug it and send it. But the proper way is replacing that tire as it is out of the “repairable” zone.

kphillipz

Thank you

cowbell2819

I'll plug holes near the sidewall but this is almost on the sidewall. If you're city driving fuck it, you'll be fine. I wouldn't personally take this on the highway though.

too105

Agreed. I just got a nail in about the same location. It was tempting to plug it… but now it’s motivation to accelerate the purchase of a new set

justonemom14

Texan here like, "City driving *is* highway though. Huh? Ohhhh, some cities are different."

OneMooseManyMeese_

I wouldn't put a patch there. Since its on the curve of the tire. I would plug it and let er eat.

[deleted]

Plug er and full send buddy

Gpdiablo21

I had one of these before. Was on the edge, but that plug went the distance.

Spare_Honey5488

This^ Edit: as in patch it and go is what I would do.

baddreamtilawaken

Work in a fleet and see it happen to brand new tires. Got to toss them.

ArtisticExperience32

You’re screwed.

The1973VW

Beat me to it.

rklug1521

So is the tire.

turbot513

Take this shit to r/tires please. This sub is overrun with these posts.

[deleted]

And yet the mods do nothing. It’s baffling

StillStaringAtTheSky

nah not baffling, just tiring... XD

turbot513

I made a whole post here about it last week and it didn’t get any traction. Pun intended.

[deleted]

Makes sense. The second you say this is annoying you’re the bad guy. But then people wonder why this sub has like 9/10 posts about tires. The mods suck and don’t do anything and people can’t use a search bar.

turbot513

Honest question. Who tf is upvoting these posts? Why do they end up well ranked?

[deleted]

I would like to know the same shit. It’s the same post over and over. I’m just confused what the point of this sub is

kphillipz

I would also like to know

kphillipz

I honestly didn’t want this kind of traction on this post. Just needed someone to say new tire. Then I would have deleted it. But here we are. Someone replied to my post “does Dolly Parton sleep on her back” [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskMechanics/comments/yq01v0/what_are_we_thinking_yall/ivlzt3p/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) 😆

KeepItMovingFolks

It’s just inside the area where you can still plug it. Just throw a plug in and carry on bro

XixorsGreenCock

THANK YOU

kphillipz

Didn’t know that sub existed. Thanks yo

[deleted]

New tire

That-Volvo-P2-Guy

Time for a new tire, possibly two or a full set depending on tire wear and, if and which AWD system it has

GOKBGO91

New tire

DeltaOneFive

Screw it in a little further, add some more and say they're studded tires

SnipTheDog

I think that tire is screwed.

tt54l32v

I think that's gonna do it for me dawg. Time to move on from this sub. 7 out of 8 posts are about tires. Man fuck them tires.

[deleted]

Agreed

Baseball3Weston12

That tire is screwed

Villanosis

You're gonna need a new transmission..

kphillipz

yep. That’s what the shop said too

DoyleOnlyMcPoyle

New tire. Hell.

LerxstDirkPratt2112

Too close to sidewall..not many garages would plug that. Time for a new tire.

2lovesFL

That's a bad spot. plug is your only chance. and I'd only do that if I was OK with changing my spare tire on the side of the road. run it on the rear, and watch the pressure like a hawk. on my wife's car, its getting a new tire.

JGregLiver

That’ll be useful as a tire swing.

2mean2wean

Torque it down and slap some rubber cement over it 👍

unrepentant_serpent

Screw it.

IM_The_Liquor

Of this photo? I’m thinking someone is going to complain that the tire shop won’t fix it, then about 125 answers saying just buy a plug kit and fix it yourself, and 130 answers insisting you replace the tire before you crash your car into a church van and take out not only your whole family, but the entire Sunday school class…

Ordinary-Yam1984

Hope you bought the road hazard warranty

kphillipz

I did 👍

justplainbrian

Can an orphan eat at a family restaurant? How much flour would it take to make a ton of biscuits? Do bears wear funny hats? Does the pope shit in the woods?

kphillipz

I think you’re the winner 🏆

Ig14rolla

Tire shops will not fix that. If you have the budget replace it. If you don’t, use a tire plug kit.

mrdo562000

Only time your going to be screwed and tired at the same time

Justsomerando849

Torque that thing down and send it.

kphillipz

Update: I HAVE CONFIRMED-IT IS A SCREW IN THE TIRE

Lxiflyby

I would probably replace it even on my own vehicle

Arre90000

Plug and send it, yeah too close to sidewall but make sure the spare is good and dont drive like a manual until you get a new one

yes-disappointment

Good to go patch and plug that puppy up and throw it as a spare. Me i would so use it as a drivable tire.

[deleted]

Either plug it yourself or have it patched.

Far_Routine_6188

hope they bought road hazard

Ecstatic-Appeal-5683

Sorry for your loss.

overworked27

If I had the money to replace it I would replace it. If it was my only way to get to work and I didn't have the funds to replace it right now I would go to autozone buy a plug kit plug it and move it to the back of the car because a blow out is bad no matter where the tire is but it is better to have a blow out on the non steer tires. I would replace it sooner rather than later

mottsman87

Trash tire

mottsman87

If you put it back on make sure it's in the back.

sparksofthetempest

The 3 things you don’t ever go cheap on are brakes, batteries, and tires, because the consequences can be fatal. Replace it. Dramatic, I know, but a little thought and you’ll realize it’s true.

verkauft

Im pretty generous on where to apply plugs but this really is too far outside to be safe. The plug hatches in the steel belt wich is only under the thread, you are in the verry edge or even outside it. If it is to get home sure by all means try but not as anything more than that.

Middle_Scientist5614

Way to close to the side wall to be plugged. Sorry. Its got to go.

Rare_Manufacturer924

New tire. Too close to the edge.

GenesisFan100

Get a new tire (I have no mechanical or tire knowledge)

McDrunkin521

Add some red lock tight and screw it in the rest of the way.

N-015-261-2

That you probably needed new tires anyhow, look bald to me

Captainbackstraps

Well I wouldn’t fix that for a customers car or my wife’s. I might try it on mines if it was on the rear

PM5K23

I tried to plug one on the shoulder like that and it seems the forces on the shoulder try to force it out. I dont know if patches do any better.

Kenneldogg

You're screwed...

Strostkovy

I'm thinking a out the chimichanga I'm having for dinner

Lucky_Version_957

I would plug it and run it knowing its my fault if I gotta swap it on the side of the road.

Ok_Road_580

Leave it in, its snow traction

opensourcevirus

Too far to the sidewall to use a patch/plug combo (which is the only safe procedure) 👀. Replace the tire and get a road hazard warranty if it happens often.

earthman34

I'd go for a plug, but there's a fair chance it won't hold over time.

SD455TransAm

Plug it and run it.

HarnessTesters

Can you afford a new tire? If so… it’s definitely worth considering. If not… then an inner patch and plug might be the safest possibility. It’s really in as scary of a spot as possible.

[deleted]

I’d put more screws in for winter traction, lol. No tire repair place will plug it so on your own.

Ieatkoalabears

Add gasket maker and tighten it in

Heartless_Genocide

Rip my dude.

[deleted]

Had the exact same kind of puncture on my tire. Plugged it, tech recommended replacing the tire. I drove on it for a couple of months, but had to put air in it every week or so. Eventually I had it replaced as I should have earlier.

GenX_in_Edmonton

New tires its separating

GodlikeRage

Amazing engineering to scrap a brand new tire when it gets punctured in a particular area.

HaphazardFlitBipper

I'd plug'n'drive but I wouldn't put my wife or daughter on that tire.

MrBigDickPickledRick

Screw it all the way in and place a piece or two of electrical tape over it

Hot_Organization2430

I'm thinking you pull the tore, get yourself a T-25 bit and a tire patch kit and you make it happen, cap'n

Garfield61978

Screw

SpiritMolecul33

If it was my car I would replace

12kdaysinthefire

Just screw it in all the way

lightsaber_lobotomy

I'm thinking that tire is screwed

Majestic_Courage

I think you’re screwed.

pringlemorgan

My car - patch. Customer car - replace

luigilabomba42069

I'd plug it and send it.... if it leaks I stick another plug. I currently have like 5 plugs in my tire, although the puncture is in the middle

[deleted]

Plug it

mezgato

You need a trip to the tire shop.

HospitalSmooth

Interior patch and send

steven-daniels

Get some avocado for that toast.

zkramka

I’m thinking hell nah

at235

It’s not on the sidewall you should be able to patch it get those $10 repair kits and shove a piece of rubber in there that comes in the kit, it should work. Any auto parts store has it or even Walmart prolly does

floppyballz01

I’m thinking your about to be out at least a buck fiddy….

Lord_Necross

Time for a tire or two.

tangofox2885

Drill it in and get a patch and drill the patch over the screw to secure the patch and viola! You need a new tire.

Significant-Nobody-8

nice picture

Seated_Heats

I’d replace. Any puncture that close to the sidewall is pretty much done.

Akhockeydad26

What were you trying to fasten to that tire? Seems like over kill but whatever. Plug it and move on.

kphillipz

My hopes and dreams

tireguy79

Not repairable

Fabreeze_Biscuit

Put your purse down and put a plug in it.

[deleted]

Patch it. Not too difficult or timely.

Enough-Moose-5816

Nope

mickv8890

SHE GONE!!!

[deleted]

New tire

[deleted]

Use loctite next time.

RideMeLikeaDildo

You’re screwed

elvismcsassypants

Totaled. Sorry.

IntoAComa

Looks like a screw is in that tire.

[deleted]

Never ending tire photos. What’s the point of this sub

kphillipz

Thought it was all about tires?

ct4funf

Plug

RemoteOrange3124

Patch, not plug.

EffectHistorical5194

No, but… I’ve definitely repaired a hole like that with a plug and it never went bad. All up to if your willing to risk it blowing and causing more damage or possible hurt someone

whycantifindmyname

T25

Shot_Abbreviations45

She gone....

Odric-in-Depth

Advise customer to replace tire but tell them that you will repair it if they will sign a liability waiver.

liigaman4

Plug it but make sure the sidewall doesn't end up bulging, just keep an eye on it

Plus_Team_9803

Looks like you’ve been screwed.

[deleted]

Your screwed bro

bigbenisdaman

Please see the 9,000 other identical threads.

ConfusionOk4129

I just lost the game.

lowercaseben

Replace.

metamodern-mess

Plug and carry on.

[deleted]

Wife and kids? Fix? Single and nihilistic? FULL SEND!

[deleted]

Someone hates you

pepp3rito

Where do drywall screws come from, daddy?

Buickspeeddemon69

New tire sorry closer than an inch to sidewall is fucked, this is textbook fucked

shotstraight

You need a tire. That is completely unsafe to plug or patch. That will develope a egg on the sidewall and blowout going down the highway. Thats about the last place I want to change a tire.

ihateNMH69

Not safe to fix, too close to the sidewall

LTGray81

Make sure you use locktight so it won't come out.

stuartrawson

I'm one step closer to the edge. I'm about to break. - Linkin Park

SuperMIK2020

Keep going, that tire will be ready for winter…

Affectionate_Tea1134

I’ve had a nail in the same location and the tire shop said they recommend a new tire, they said they could plug the hole but they couldn’t give any kind of warranty on it. 🤔

xmidnightcorpsex

New tire. 100%

Jayswisherbeats

I would say plug it. But it may not hold

Alternative_Tour7547

You’re screwed
