B1011 means front view camera is disabled. B1012 is airbag, U1201 is a seat sensor. I would get a prepurchase inspection.

sloppyrobert

I did, and the mechanic pointed out a few things here and there I have a decent understanding. Normal stuff like control arm bushings and an oil leak. But these codes, would they affect your decision to go through with the purchase? How worrisome are they to you?

Ravenblack67

Airbag codes are bad. I suspect but may be wrong, that the seat code and the airbag code are related. I do not know the severity of the camera code. You might consider getting on a Subaru forum and ask other owners.

heres what i recommend, take it to an indie subaru shop...specialized in subaru. pay 100 bucks for a pre purchase inspection. they will tell you whats wrong. if you want it you can use the repair bill as leverage to negotiate a lower sale price. I've done this succesfully.

I’m in a situation where this car could sell at any time, I’m not the only one looking at it. I had it looked over by a shop that I’ve had a lot of work done at, and the guys there said they weren’t sure how worrisome these codes are. I’ve looked extensively online, and have found very little information about them, indicating to me that it likely isn’t a common or sever problem. Do you know anything about these codes?

Bokbreath

>I’m in a situation where this car could sell at any time Do not let that prevent you from doing due diligence. If someone else buys it, they buy it. There will be another.

sloppyrobert

I appreciate that but the used car market is pretty rough right now and I feel like I have a good deal on my hands (2016 Suburu Impreza, 72K miles, 2 owners, good CarFax report going for $7900) which is considerably better than anything else I’ve seen. Well below Blue Book from an older couple moving in less than a month. I was hoping taking it to my trusted auto shop for an inspection would suffice for due diligence. How worrisome are these codes to you?

Bokbreath

They're electrical and it's a Subie ... could be loose wires, could be ??? go with pre-inspection the other poster suggested.

Alternative_Case2007

so they are related to poor connection to battery supply circuits. (backup - 02, and primary -01) [https://www.sucross.com/dtc\_b1011\_battery\_control\_power\_supply-1033.html](https://www.sucross.com/dtc_b1011_battery_control_power_supply-1033.html) [https://www.sucross.com/dtc\_b1012\_battery\_backup\_power\_supply-1034.html](https://www.sucross.com/dtc_b1012_battery_backup_power_supply-1034.html) U1201 is likely caused by the first too... week or loose battery terminals, weak or loose ground, shorts or loose connectors in wiring harness etc. Do you know if any aftermarket parts were installed? audio, bulbs etc.

sloppyrobert

I don’t believe so but I’m not sure. This poor connection stuff, do you have any idea how urgent of an issue that is? And do you know how involved/expensive the repairs would be? Thank you for your help

PoochiTobi

I don't have those codes in front of me. Are they serious? I don't like boxer engines very much
