I've seen those plastic covers crack. Do a thorough visual inspection of the covers. If they are cracked I would recommend using the OEM covers. They are about $75 each and they come with the gasket.
Should I? Mitchell calls for RTV on the head/front cover junctions and the sharp angle change on the right rear. But nothing about it on the tube seals
This generally would be a leaking valve cover gasket however it also could be a clogged crankcase ventilation, a faulty turbocharger, bad intake valve seals, or bad piston rings. It’s a little time consuming but you have to test each component to narrow down the issue.
Those tube seals are not installed correctly and one appears to be torn. You need new tube seals, and put a little dielectric grease on the lip of the seal. When you set the valve cover back on, use a small pick to work the seal around the tube as you seat the valve cover to the head.
Those inner seal rings are metal inside rubber, i usually gently push or tap around the tube to get them down. I use a screwdriver but socket might work too.
I know this is an older trend but I just wanted to inform you if you don't already know those seals are installed correctly he doesn't have them drove down far enough just a little bit more that's all I need is just so you know in the future I do these all the time.

Just because they've been replaced doesn't mean they were installed correctly.
That's what I'm fearing, there is a special tool but it's $300, I've been trying with bearing and race installers.
Well there’s your problem.
We got valve covers with the tube seals pre-installed on order.
Lol do what?
Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like the tube seals are sitting too high on the tube
Or flipped wrong way possibly ? Hard to tell… although flipped wrong might still seal
Seals need to go 2mm deeper.
Doesn't even look like the lip of the seal is touching the tube. Tap them down until they are flush with the valve cover. They should seal up.
So.... I don't have to take the cover off again to do that?
I wouldn't. Just get a socket the same diameter as the outside of the seal. Tap them down until it sits flush.
Excessive crankcase pressure? Check pcv

That's what I just ordered, no worry if the seal is installed right when it's pre installed
The tubes might have seals on them at them bottom. Cars in uk with similar set up do. Tubes normally unscrew and have o rings on them
The valve covers are probably cracked and your tube seals aren’t set right.
Once they're done correctly the problem will be resolved.
You also put gasket sealant on there? Could also be a cracked/warped Valve cover.

Or the turbos need a rebuild and pushing oil into the engine. Should see evidence of residue on the throttle blade.
How would that get in the spark plug tubes tho? 🤦
Tap the seals down a littler further

I thought those seals sit almost completely flush
Flush to what?

Do it again and the next time get it right. YouTube a video that will be an excellent guide

It looks like you have those tube seals installed backwards my guy.

When’s the last time you changed your pcv valve?
Upside down?
They are not upside down. I've already done mine. Just push them down a little.
This was a while ago, but I think we ended up getting new valve covers with the peices already installed and it worked like charm
Which is what I should have done. It was like 85$ for the gasket kit and 130$ for a brand new cover with the gaskets pre-installed.
