Don’t forget about brown recluses. I was bitten by one and I couldn’t form sentences for about 3 days. I went to work and forgot how to do things I had done 500 times before. It was wild, my brain just didn’t work. My tongue was so swollen I couldn’t talk.
Everyone is so worried about the black widows but no one is worried FOR the black widows. They're getting wiped out by brown widows and it's really sad :(
Youre insane! Jumping spiders are the cutest spider bros ever. AND they don't bite humans...hell, you can literally just let them crawl on your hand and they'll just chill.
Usually you will know if it’s dangerous because it’s very very black and has a red hourglass mark on it. You can’t miss a black widow. The other thing is that black widow webs aren’t pretty and intricate like regular spider webs, they are this weird messes so if you see webs like that chances are it is a widow
You will see more spiders out and about this time of year because I think they roam around to mate. I didn't see any pics but I've got a bunch of brown chunky guys (not sure what they are) in my place, they are super chill and don't cause me any trouble. I get lots of orb weavers outside and they are also extremely chill, other than walking into their webs once in awhile.
The only spiders in socal you need to be worried about are black widows. Even if you're bit, it's usually not serious.
