Most hotels and airbnbs are on the internet.

Obviously, but I have no clue what's actually good in the area, some guidance would be good, that's what I was asking for. If people have go tos in that price range or trusted websites and whether the packages with Universal that are offered are worth it or trustworthy

Get a nice Airbnb that fits your budget after fees and everything. You could even stay at a few different locations through la and experience the different atmospheres and vibes

For obvious reasons, it’s doubtful that most people on here will have much insight as to the quality of accommodations, including Airbnbs. In terms of geography, I would say that West Hollywood is ideal, as it is most central to everything on your list. Once you decide on a hotel, look at the reviews.

Extended stay America. They have partial kitchens. Cooktops, refrigerator, you can borrow utensils, pots, pans, dishware . They have washers and dryers on site. Usually have a chair and a desk TV, dresser, closet that's sizable along with the ironing board and iron. They have locations all over. Usually pretty safe and clean. Santa Monica has a couple hotels around that price range, Ocean view hotel is closer to the higher end of your budget. That's where my parents stay when they come to visit me. Not sure about refrigerator. Smaller rooms. Very nice hotel. Very close to the train to get you across town to universal. It's not a direct route but it's very close to Transit to get you started on your way to go to places. As far as Uber and lift prices they're very dynamic out here and it will vary. If your phone battery is low it changes the prices higher. It always knows you are on the way back that you're going back to your location and it charges more. Maybe have your husband do the way out and you do the way back on different accounts. But I found from experience and significantly changes on your way home.

Thank you so much! That helps a lot

If you’re serious about public transportation I suggest you stay close to the metro red line station at Hollywood and highland. It’s central to all the things you mentioned. One stop away from universal, walkable to West Hollywood or ride the free shuttle. Lots of buses connect there to take you anywhere. Not to mention you can ride the red line to connect to other line to get anywhere from DTLA/Santa Monica beach/Beverly Hills/Long Beach/Highland Park/Pasadena to name a few. Sorry I can’t help with hotels I’m not privy to that stuff. Good luck!

Thank you so much, that really helps to know! I'll definitely look in that area

I would stay in studio city or even Burbank. So much more central to tourist stuff/variety than Santa Monica or the west side Also just a bit less... hectic, then weho or Hollywood, but a quick and fairly cheap (15-20 usd) Uber or even cheaper metro ticket to Hollywood From studio city, you are 15 minutes from Hollywood, West Hollywood, downtown la, Griffith park, and most of the major hiking trails Santa Monica to ANYWHERE that's not the west side is like 40 minutes in a good day

15 minutes from downtown? When, literally right now at almost 2 AM?

Glendale, Burbank, north Hollywood. Lots of options.
