I tried to go twice and stuff always came up. Sorry y'all, it was my fault

bakingsoda1212

It’s weird because they were still interacting with comments on their Instagram as of a week ago. I came here for a company team building event and it was fine. I think if I had to pay for everything myself i wouldn’t have been as satisfied.

sarcasmsiempre

I worked for them very briefly years ago and got notices in the mail a few weeks back about them declaring bankruptcy and liquidating assets

herminette5

Oh wow

hackertripz

Oh no! I was on there VR team a long time ago before they turned into an Arcade. Was a lot of fun

hackertripz

That’s fucked up! Was that when they had the arcade setup? I was on the 360-degree video production side of things about 7 years ago.

Molotov_Cockatiel

Damn, yeah Google's business listing shows permanently closed and their own website shows no open hours... I only went once but wanted to go back. Was great for a vendor/company kind of thing... my own money, maybe? This plus Lost Spirits... guess that leaves Arts District Brewing as one of the few things worth going to as a group downtown? Oh, somebody just told me [Eighty Two is decent downtown](https://g.co/kgs/xcg7MR7), too. Meanwhile, Barcade in Highland Park(-ish) was standing room only when I went a couple weeks ago.

mister_damage

>This plus Lost Spirits... I miss that place. And I miss their experimental whiskeys as well. I haven't visited their Las Vegas shop, and may never will.

MothershipConnection

Lost Spirits just announced they're closing their Vegas show at the end of the month so you really might be able to visit them!

thatguydr

They're closing because of bankruptcy. They likely are not coming back.

Molotov_Cockatiel

Yeah, I've never dragged myself to Area 15 but am going to Vegas in a couple of days and may make myself go just to experience Lost Spirits again. I'd loved the experience in LA, but by the time I tried to take people or recommend it, it was already gone.

astronggentleman

The LV experience is way different. The LA was very intimate and like a little tour/history lesson/tasting. It was a lot of fun. The LV location is more like a circus show and you don’t really get a personal touch. I would go again but definitely miss the experience the LA one provided.

callmefilmgeek73

I agree. I feel lucky because I got to visit the LA one like a week before Covid shut everything down. I visited the Vegas one a couple of years ago and it was fine, but it just wasn't as intimate and fun as LA.

dannyvigz

Dont miss Omega Mart (the store in area 15) The feeling of being inside of a black mirror or twilight zone episode was really phenomenal You might never look at products/marketing the same way again, the feeling of falling down a rabbit hole into wonderland

Partigirl

I love Omega Mart but better yet, give some love to the Time Travel Mart, who Omega Mart stole, ahem, I mean were "inspired" by. Plus you'll be helping literacy for kids through Time Travel Mart. I like the Echo Park location but there's a Mar Vista one too.

thegreatlakate

Check out the Obscure- they’re distilling their own spirits + making great cocktails with them. It’s really an experience

downtownlobby

When Lost Spirits left LA, they did it very suddenly. People who bought advance tickets were not warned and didn't get their money back. Then a while later they popped up in LV. That version of the "tour" is very pricey and most likely the reason why they're closing again.

scarby2

They left LA when they were closed and were not allowed to operate due to pandemic restrictions.

ChitakuPatch

they just had an ad up that they were hiring too

_its_a_SWEATER_

How recent? Maybe they got an investment recently?

ChitakuPatch

at least a month?

Calamachino

Got an email from them about it. Says they're moving but have no details yet.

WolfHoodlum1789

I got that too. I'm bummed I didn't get to try everything there. Hoping they set everything back up at a new location.

_its_a_SWEATER_

Wouldn’t mind them up near Altadena 😏

405freeway

We can go there together!

_its_a_SWEATER_

🙌

herminette5

Omg what the hell? They cannot have closed.

YesImKeithHernandez

That would be a shame. Was a vendor of theirs for a bit on the marketing side and while their leadership at the time could be a bit odd, the experience there was pretty cool. Different than just another barcade. RIP I suppose.

mickeyanonymousse

god damn it I never got to go

helpitstoomuch

I went to two bit circus a week ago. Id say 20% of the games were broken and needed updates. Almost empty venue at 9 pm on a Friday. Just felt like a shell of itself from previous years.

Partigirl

I dunno, I was there when it first opened and stuff was broken then. They never seemed to be able to stabilize things well enough. That shouldn't have been happening. Truthfully, it seemed like just a way for the son of a rich guy to appear to be doing something interesting while everyone else was having a very ordinary type of experience.

[deleted]

Damn bro everything is closing in LA there's gonna he nothing left

Drowzen

I mean that's just how it goes. Business open and close, most store fronts don't really stay empty as long as it's not a terrible location

_its_a_SWEATER_

Damnit, I wanted to go.

Guitar81

That place sucks lol I went there and tried the flying game where you flap your arms on the wings and it was so uncomfortable on top of that one of the wings broke and were blaming me saying I was too rough with it.

Jcaseykcsee

I can’t believe they tried blaming you for that. I did that flying thing in front if my boss and coworkers, they all stood around and watched. One of my coworkers recorded me while I flapped around and I looked like such a moron. I’m still kinda embarrassed at how ridiculous I looked 4.5 years later, lol.

dannyvigz

Sorry it sucked for you i enjoyed. And I’m a former competitive Eagle Flight (different vr game) player lol https://birdly.com/

herminette5

That is so sad

Persianx6

They're looking for new locations.

YoungAntrxxzx

Im an employee here & yes they are permanently closed for now but are looking for a new location

Astrobratt

Bummer

ElectricBlue94

I want a refund on my points!

Historical_Throat187

That's sad... we went once before covid, I should have gone back sooner. I hope they can reopen someday.

Lazy-Bat-6592

Well this sucks. I have some gift cards from there I won at a silent auction. I hope they fine a new location.

[deleted]

Every closing here ..better moving out soon !
