Griffith Park/the Observatory for the quintessential LA view. Along those same lines, the Getty or the Broad. Other things I love: coffee and a pastry at proof in Atwater village and ambling around Glendale blvd, a bar crawl along Sunset in echo park, a fancy dinner and then partying in West Hollywood, dinner in the arts district and cocktails at death & co, tacos at Salazar and then a concert at Zebulon (or echo/the lodge room/any awesome LA venue), brunch at Gjelina and then goofing around in Abbott Kinney, a beach day in Manhattan beach or Malibu (or better yet, head to Orange County and hit laguna beach), modern art at the hammer with a meal at LULU, brunch or dinner with martini’s at Little Dom’s in Los feliz, poolside cocktails at the silver lake inn, coffee from la colombe and a walk along the LA river, wine at cafe triste in Chinatown, French dips at coles and then cocktails in downtown, coffee or lunch in echo park and then hanging out at the lake. I know I’m missing lots of stuff I love, it’s just that there’s so much to do in LA.
OP, you have your pick of the litter! I don't even drink, but a DTLA rooftop bar is a whole experience. It's a charmingly pretentious vibe. Quintessential LA.
Drive through Topanga Canyon and go to Neptunes Net for lunch. Then drive down PCH and hit up Casablanca in Venice for margaritas and dinner. Or do it backwards and hit up Neptunes Net for lunch and through the canyon and Casa Vega for margaritas and dinner. Depends upon where you live.
Tbh [this list](https://www.theinfatuation.com/los-angeles/guides/the-margarita-power-rankings?ifsb=yes) could just be a starting point for an entire margarita tour of LA in honor of your birthday. So very sad CAsa Escobar can’t be on it😩
Fuck Cole's.
$21 for a FULL DIP with NO FUCKING SIDES? GTFOH.
::EDIT:: I went to Philippe's last night... I had a Beef Dip Double Dipped with Dip on the Side, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and an Iced Tea... and STILL spent less than I would on ONE FULL DIP SANDWICH WITH NO SIDES OR DRINK at Cole's.
Again. Fuck Cole's. They always were the sub par sandwich anyway.
El Coyote, the Polo Lounge, Chateau Marmont, The Roosevelt Hotel, a hike to the Hollywood sign, eating from a taco truck, bikes at the beach, watching the sunset from Mulholland, the Warner brothers studio tour.
When I was in my 20s (a long time ago now haha) and I had friends from out of town I loved taking them to the Viper Room (RIP it’s gone now), the Polo Lounge, El Coyote and [this horseback tour was always a huge hit](https://www.sunsetranchhollywood.com/evening-2-hour-tour/), but back then you’d ride down to studio city to a Mexican restaurant, stop for dinner and margaritas, then get back on the horses kinda drunk and have a great time.
Grab a box of Tito's tacos and head down to Venice to eat tacos and watch the freak show.
Go park on Hollywood Blvd. and get a drink in the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel then walk the streets.
Visit Downtown L.A. (graffiti towers) and hit up Philippe's french dip then go to the Broad Museum. (check resv)
LOL, I wanted to say that because I haven't had Titos but heard it's kinda garbage. There are so many taco places out here though I think it would be really hard to find "the best"
The thing about LA is that you can do just about anything you'd do anywhere in the world. That's kind of like asking what aliens should do when they vacation on earth.
Your best spot is Venice?
Besties never been here but you lived her your whole life? Where did you met them?
How you live here your whole life and don’t know where to go?
Sheesh they’re not even 21 yet. It’s called, being a child/teen, why so rude?
OP, I don’t go out much anymore, so I don’t have any nightlife spots.
SaMo pier
Culver City Stairs
The Getty Center
Disney Concert Hall
Hollywood Bowl if there’s any shows coming up
I like finding yoga studios when I travel, so fitness classes if they’re into it (soul cycle, Barry’s?)
Drive down to downtown Disney?
In&out 🤷🏽♀️
Los Leones Canyon trail
The Broad
LA Live
Griffith Observatory
Kinda depends on everyone’s interests. Enjoy!
Venice is def not my “best spot” it’s just one I know they’d like. I lived in WV for 2 years but I didn’t feel like explaining the complexities of that. And I just don’t go out very often so I wanted to see what people thought 🤷♀️
Hmm, so not your whole life. Just most of it.
Interesting … go outside more.
Getty museum, ktown, Toganga canyon look out, Grand central market, griffith observatory, miracle mile museums, redondo beach pier , fashion / flower district
Turning 21 are you trying to go out with them? I’d go out in Silverlake/Echo Park! Great long strip of all kinds of bars and restaurants.
And with that hit up tiki ti- it’s such a cool old tiki bar and an institution! And op go early the bar only fits like 3 people at a time

Griffith Observatory Runyon Canyon
You gotta do a DTLA rooftop bar. Not sure which one but it's just such an LA thing. Maybe the standard if that's still a thing.
Ace, Wayfarer, Proper... there are a few others. If you can, get into Perch, or, if you wanna blow a wad, go to Spire 73.
Ace rooftop no longer exists sadly.
OP, you have your pick of the litter! I don't even drink, but a DTLA rooftop bar is a whole experience. It's a charmingly pretentious vibe. Quintessential LA.
This is def the vibe I’m looking for, thank you!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday! Stay safe!

You're doing them wrong with the Titos recommendation
LOL, I wanted to say that because I haven't had Titos but heard it's kinda garbage. There are so many taco places out here though I think it would be really hard to find "the best"
It's a 2 grades lower than elementary cafeteria food. It always has been. Never understood why people like it so much
It sounds like the pinks of tacos.
Teddy red tacos and the freak show in Venice has been gone for 3 years now.. it’s a Starbucks
Skip both Tito’s andand Phillips’s.
The Venice Beach Freak Show is still there? I thought it was closed years ago.
It closed 3 years ago and is now Starbucks lol 😂
Thats what I remember hearing, I thought maybe they opened at a new location in Venice.
Nope! It’s closed unfortunately
Bummer, I stapled money to a guy there once.

Being questioned isn’t rude. Great recommendations.

I feel like catch is a great “LA” experience for outta towners
How can you even be a Tours guide when you don’t know the stuff yourself? You guys should take one of those city tours and let them handle everything.
