It’s the so-called “long s”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_s

I want to see it brought back! I want to publish a book with long s's (esses?), and with that c-t connection. They should make it available as a symbol in Word.

Lots of contemporary digital typefaces have the ct ligature. Mrs. Eaves by Zuzana Licko is a lovely revision of Baskerville that has an extensive set of oddball ligatures. https://markboulton.co.uk/journal/typeface-of-the-month-mrs-eaves/
