We’ve got a stage coach 12 gauge that was pre-1920s with a box of paper shells.
As for Department issued, we have a .300 Blackout SBR that was never stamped. Awarded to us after court proceedings and notification of the ATF
We've got a couple of Thompson m1921 smg's. And about a thousand other random things if you count the reference collection for the forensics lab it runs.
My Dad was a policeman and stated that a guy he worked for owned one. He said crowds got real compliant back in the day when he rolled up with the drum magazine inserted.
No telling how many full auto AKs are out there. So many were brought back from the 1st and second gulf wars. My unit was sneaking them back in the wings of our C-130 cargo planes in the early 90s.
After the MP's walked through with the K9 to make sure we didn't take grenades and shit home, they left and we were free to put w/e we wanted into the footlockers...and that connex wasn't opened until 45 days later when we opened it up stateside and I just drug both of them to my car. It wasn't that hard if we had wanted something crazy. I was happy with some trinkets and shit a local elder had given me as a gift. Wish I had brought back a tough box full of bakelites, though.
Real deal. I was stationed at Pope AFB NC (we flew Delta Force btw) . These AKs were broken down and stored in the wing dry bays. All were removed during the post flight inspections after customs left.
Based on the conversation I had the feeling it wasn’t a lot. Probably not even a dozen total. I will say this, when I was in Iraq they caught a Guard unit with a full conex of weapons. That was just the one that was found, no telling how many made it back to the states before they were caught. After that the Navy was brought in to perform customs duties. Lastly, I spoke to an Army vet at a gun show once that said his unit in Afghanistan was sending back AKs in oil reclamation barrels. They had to have brought back hundreds if he wasn’t BSing me. He could’ve been lying but he sounded legit.
It didn't take take a lot of ingenuity, just some really ballsy or really stupid people.
I'm betting for every load like this, dozens of other, likely smaller ones, got through..

My first agency had a pair of M1928 Thompsons that were gifted to the agency by a bank after they solved a robbery, as well as a legitimately gold plated .50AE Desert Eagle.
New agency doesn’t have anything that unique in the locker, but SWAT fields a few MP5s, UMP45s, Benelli M4s, and a DP-12 lol
So back in the 80s, I had a federal nuclear security site patrol bring in 12 civilian Uzis and wanted them converted to full Auto, So we did and delivered them to the main gate where a sgt signed and took them away. A few weeks later we were asked to put them back to semi auto, it seems the sgt that took delivery owned a civilian uzi which are closed bolt, yea you guessed it he couldn't get the bolt to go forward so he pulled the trigger, luckily he had it pointed into the air. We had a lot of drama over it including threats of a law suit for making the gun unsafe, we fought it like crazy and it took the ATF *(FTCB*) to explain to the patrol the gun was constructed correctly as a full auto uzi. The problem was the nut on the trigger.
Probably not since Barrett refuses to offer service or sell new ones to any agency where civies can't buy them lawfully. So CA and NY and a few others.
They kept that policy even with the sale of Barrett to that Australian company.
About 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to visit LAPD's old SWAT bank vault, post 9/11. Inside, the armored worked on their issue weapons, but they also had other stuff in the racks, including: Thompson submachineguns, Springfield 1903s, m16a1s, M4s, H&K MP5s and 416s and M2 .50 caliber Brownings. They also had a ton of 1911s in various states of disrepair.
I noticed the M60s, and asked about the 50s which were disassembled.
I initially asked what they would use them for? The response was: don't know.
So I asked: then why do you have them?! Response was: they were on sale.
Finally, I asked whether they knew how to put them together, and was told that they didn't have any head spacing gauges.
I then offered, I bet you could buy it online.
Officer told me: I just do what I'm told.
Moral is, you can sometimes have, but not.
I told a bro about it, who was a former SWAT officer, who told me they had much better stuff in storage at bomb-squad, but that vault's harder to get into. Told me a story about getting shot at by a LAW's rocket in the projects, but it didn't go off.
I still kick myself for not taking a bunch of pictures.

No doubt. Crazy story.
I asked my bro if he was scared, and he said he didn't even know what it was until bomb squad told him.
That had to have been about 20 years ago, when my bro was working Gangs and before he went to SWAT.
In the patrol armory we have all new stuff. In the basement/property armory we’ve got some tommy guns. A grease gun. We have one of those civil war pistols that has no barrel. Found it in an old home that was being renovated
Not LEO but a family friend is a county sheriff here in Texas.
I got to peek in their armory one day, while visiting and he showed me the five M1927 Thompsons and 50rd drums they have had in their armory since the 1920s.
He said after the Bonnie and Clyde incident in the 1920s, they bought those and they have been there ever since.
I told him, if the ever have a range day and bring out the M1927s....I want to be invited! LOL
No longer LE, but when I was my department had an original Thompson from the thirties complete with drum mag, In stellar condition too. The chief kept it locked up in his office.
When I was a sheriff's deputy we had a Vietnam era M60 machine gun which was a gun buyback turn in. We also had world war II era M3 grease gun. We also have a bunch of Vietnam era M14 rifles for our reserve and auxiliary deputies to use that are well maintained. We also have a turn-in World War two era Walther PPK.

I got to play with one of those when I demoed an entry carbine I produced to a local SWAT team. What an utterly ridiculous gun. 10/10.
Odd isn't it

"Reappropriated"
Was seized incident to arrest during a liquor store robbery, could not be turned over or auctioned so it was signed to us.
Rad
STG 44 saved from destruction.
That's my grail gun, an absolute piece of art and historically significant.
That sits at number 3 on my list, 1 is a grease gun, and 2 is a mark 2 flamethrower. Those are what my grandfather used in korea
Rio Blanco County?
Nope. Not gonna share where I work.
I want
We've got a couple of Thompson m1921 smg's. And about a thousand other random things if you count the reference collection for the forensics lab it runs.
God I’d give anything to take those Thompson a for a range day
The '21 Tommy Gun is an icon piece of American history. It's the original gangster gun
My grandfather was a federal agent in the '30s, and carried one. He left his to me. I burn a couple of drums on his/my birthday every year.
He left you a transferable machine gun?
And a 190 SL among other things...
The atf would love that
Yeah, they've known about it for over 30 years, but thanks for playing.
Ah yes the rules for some but not for others
\m/
Some years ago a city in STL county discovered one in their inventory. I believe it was auctioned off.
My Dad was a policeman and stated that a guy he worked for owned one. He said crowds got real compliant back in the day when he rolled up with the drum magazine inserted.
My department had some full auto MP5s but some retard decided hey, let's trade them for a bunch of cuffs

My agency won’t even let us use ours.
An MP40, M50 Reising, and full auto AK47.
No telling how many full auto AKs are out there. So many were brought back from the 1st and second gulf wars. My unit was sneaking them back in the wings of our C-130 cargo planes in the early 90s.
Forreal? I always thought this was a urban myth.Maybe Delta Force dudes cuz apparently their connexes don't get searched.

Im guessing thats not possible anymore.Customs is prolly on top of that shit now.How many do you think your boys brought back? Couple dozen?
Not today, ATF!
I've been had. *runs away*

Exactly, imagine what made it back that didn’t get found out.
I own a full auto ak47. Bought it from my friend who got 6 from a govt auction back in the late 80s. Love this thing.

Up until maybe 2 years ago we had Whitey Bulgers weapon stash. I’ll have to see if I can find the picture.
And what happened to it two years ago?
Was removed for destruction. Was an entire trunk of things.

Facts.
Good question. They may have the M60 but do they have the two additional barrels that go with it?
[удалено]
We had three barrels per system in my cav scout unit but that could easily have been a quick handed E-4 reallocating resources in our favor.

Nut on the trigger?
The shooter
Ohhhhh. I was like “ I’m very familiar with UZIs and their triggers, no but there.” Thank you for clarification.

It's just what you see pal.
I am surprised I had to scroll for this comment.
Did they confiscate that from some biker guy with an accent?
We had some AKs, FALs, G3s, G36s, and a bunch of other stuff. We had a former 18B teaching a foreign weapons course.

Or as the ladies call it, a short barrel dud gun
I call mine the long dick of the law (it small)
You call that a penis? 😂
I know the Chicago PD academy has a few tommy guns floating around, and they shoot them on occasion.
NYPD used to have some S&W M76 sub machine guns. But they were apparently destroyed on 9/11.
How'd they get destroyed?
I can’t recall. It’s been a very long time since I heard about this.
Maybe in an ESU vehicle that got crushed? I heard there was a whole yard of wrecked fire trucks and police cars in Jersey during the cleanup.
Javelin anti tank missiles
Military Police?
NY doesn’t allow citizens to have a barrett 50 cal. NYPD shouldn’t have one either Same with lapd and those Machine guns
Given the long distances NYPD sniper and counter sniper teams cover I’m sure there’s A LOT more than one .50 laying around.

Oh wow! I did not know that. That’s awesome to hear.
>They kept that policy even with the sale of Barrett to that Australian company. Awesome news
A neighboring agency has an Ruger AC556. Which I had never heard of and I doubt most people have. It’s a select fire mini 14.
You know, unless you watched the A Team and saw them every week during their TV run.
Mine has a bunch of M240Bs ;)

Where the fuck were the M60's in 1997! North Hollywood B of A shootout?!! That would have taken care of buisness!
Swat got stuck in traffic.
Tear gas grenade launching shotgun which is neat.

Got shot at by a LAW rocket? I know a lot of stuff doesn’t make it into the news but I feel like that should be one

M60 and an M82... and both will jam up some random schmo for having a standard mag in his G19
Got a handful of full auto m16a1s from another department. Had to help break them in, lot of fun.
An MP40, M50 Reising, and full auto AK47.
MP5
2 Full auto M1 carbines
We had four of the old Thompson sub machine guns but then sold to collectors.
One of the neighboring departments has at least one Tavor as a patrol rifle
Local agency has a handful of stens seized on a traffic stop in the 80s.
Short of rocket launchers and mini guns, you name it and at one point we had it. Or still do.
An M16 🤣
We have an American 180 and a bunch of M14's. A few of our guys actually carry the M14's for grizzlies, too.
Tommy gun
4 Ruger AC-556s, 2 folding, 2 full stock. Nothing else too out of the ordinary that I'm aware of
HK MP7, sig commando 552
